Upcoming Review : Nana May's Magic Face and Hands

I was contacted by Ms. Li of Tiny Tapir, to give 2 of their bestselling products a try. The Nana May's Magic Face and Nana May's Magic Hands. Tiny Tapir is located in Malaysia but Nana May Products are made in Australia.

At first, I was quite hesitant because it is a "face" product and I can't seem to use just any facial care regimen due to some allergies that I have. What spurs up my interest is the Magic Hand product because I do have "laundry" hands! :P lol But what I like about them is that they stated clearly to me that I am free to do my review whether good or bad and no obligations <--- very important for me .

I have received their package more than 2 weeks ago and I just want to thank Ms. Li for giving me the opportunity to test on their products.

Just to make the review straightforward and accurate (strives to), I have stopped using my Clinique 3-step program, and it was the right timing because I just finished up my Clinique Mild Facial Wash ...and I don't have any facial wash for now LOL

Watch out for an in-depth review on this!

Nail Art Tutorial: "Hot Pink Fireworks"

(A tip: If you don't have thin brush, you can buy tiny brush from any art stores to dip with your nail polish and create strokes like this)

Another nail art tutorial that I came out with. To be honest, with all the nail colors that we can choose, I find it a bit difficult to choose nail colors and designs on top of my head, but when I have everything in front of me, I can just be a "nerd" and just sit there do my work like "I KNOW WHAT I'M DOING!" lol

This week, I thought of a lovely pink nails courtesy of Toma's ELF Nail Polish, I can't stop smiling when I see all my nail polishes. Thanks again (trust me, I'll thank you again and again Toma and sad to say, you have to deal with it lol)

Step 1:
Choose a lovely nail polish color you would like to use as your background color
I chose a pink nail polish from ELF. <---oohh reminds me of the Hollywood Nights Lippie from MAC

Step 2:
I used the brush of the nail art pen too create 3 feather-y strokes as seen on photo below (and yes, I always start with my right hand, while my left hand isn't tired yet :P)

Step 3:
Let dry before you proceed to the next step.

Step 4: Using another color, I chose black, create 4 feather-y strokes between the white lines. Doesn't have to be perfect.

Step 5:

Again, relax and let dry for a minute

Step 6:

Look back. Black and white looks a bit dull, so I added another feather-y strokes using my yellow nail art brush.

Step 7:

I usually like to create something special for the thumb since it has more space, I added 3 dots. You can do this to all your nails but I prefer this on the thumb only.

Step 8:
Using my Elianto Glittery Nail polish (that I bought for 50% off), I applied one coat to make the nail art "sparkle" <-- now that's what I call shining, shimmering, splendid.

Step 9:

Last but not the least, always apply a top coat to protect your nails. I used Sally Hansen's Top Coat then Sally Hansen's Kwik Dry.

Enjoy your nails!

This will also be my entry for Alyssa's Nail Art Contest :)
Hope you guys enjoyed this as much as I did.
Again, it really takes a lot of practice and you'll enjoy the experience!

Trust me, it is rewarding to look at your "imperfect" nails and know
you've made all by yourself

Askmewhats Version: The "Children's Party" Look

First of all, I want to thank everyone who greeted Keith a happy happy birthday! I am really touched how blogging could make someone feel like I have such a HUGE family out there! BIG HUGS to everyone and thanks! I felt it was my birthday! LOL

Now now, where do I start? ooohhh here we go......

When I posted my winnings from Toma, some of you requested for me to do a look with the Jesse's Girl Shimmering Pearls Eye Dusts and Swatches as well. As promised, I'll do both in one post! A look using ONLY Jesse's Girl Pearl Dusts (I tried to) and random swatches cause a lot of colors are quite similar so you'll get the drift :)

I always think of an inspiration before I do any eye make up. Anyways, hubby was out at work so I looked at all the colors and I can't help but smile coz I look like a kid testing on bright colors and getting my hands dirty. That's when the thought of a "Children's Party" look came in. (NOTE: yes, hubby was out, so I took all the shots myself, ain't bad huh?)

Here are 3 Pearl Dusts I've used for this look!

1. Iridescent pearl
2. Shimmery Blue with Gold flecks

3. Sparkly pink

1. Using a blending brush, apply Iridescent Pearl below the brows to create "highlighting" effect. Also put the same color on the inner corner of the eye for an "awake" look.

2. Using a medium sized e/s brush, I blended the Shimmery blue eyeshadow all over the lids.

3. Using a smaller e/s brush, I gently pat on Sparkly Pink dust on the lid.

4. I've used a matte brown mineral e/s from Luminaire to blend the blue and the pink together using wiper motion.

And here's the final look
Of course if you want it more vibrant, you will need to apply a matte colored eyeshadow as base before you pat on the shimmery dusts.
I prefer to have it subtle.

Now pull up your hair, do a side ponytail and be a KID at heart!
(oh yeah, to those who want to know what kind of dangling earrings I wear, the earrings I wore on this picture is the MAXIMUM length, I can't go longer, not used to it!) LOL

Other Products Used ---
  • Everyday Mineral Foundation in Fair Neutral (thanks Nabi, I LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS!!!)
  • Joppa Blush in Delightful
  • Paul & Joe eyebrow Pencil no. 2
  • MAC e/s in Coquette for eyebrows
  • Paul & Joe eyeliner in black
  • In2It Lipstick in Red topped with Lancome's Rose Lipstick
As promised, here are random swatches
Swiped once from the side of the plastic
NO BASE

These are all lovely colors!
Toma, I enjoyed "Kiddie Time" thanks again!
Do not be afraid to express yourself!
Just laugh and go crazy!
That's the beauty of life! <--- Being a kid again!

Happy Birthday to the Man of my Life!

(Warning: Heavy posts)

You girls may wonder why I had my weekend food tripping post early huh? Well, it's because I wanted a special Post for my highschool sweetheart....

Let us get to know the man behind my blog...my hubby...my soulmate, my bestfriend!

He loves me for who I am, no matter how much he distorts my face! LOL
I love him that's why I put this ugly photo of mine (his fave)

Since he loves to take photos of me in the most candid ways, he took a shot of me during our Malaysia trip and laughed so hard because I was looking at a "man's BUTT"
hello?? I was looking at the phone model.....hmm..am I ? lol

Now that we're talking about Malaysia, let's talk about traveling. He LOVES food, and he LOVES to try different dish (that explains the weekend food tripping). He is intrigued with other country's fastfood and would talk about the differences! LOL such a food nerd!

Since he did a paparazzi shot on me, I love to do shots on him too! He does drink and drive! LOL Iced Coffee! lol He doesn't drink nor smoke! Angel!

He is into photography (that's why he's my official photographer in this blog). One day, he saw this bright light inside the mall, he asked me to stand there and just take a shot on my "GLOWY" face lol I think he wanted me to be a "SADAKO" lol From then on, he said I'm officially his MODEL ....aawwww

And when I'm in the mood to be a photographer, he's always "a good sport" in doing those crazy stunts I ask him to do :P

Introducing..the TWINS! (It's not just you and me Cinthia, he's got a twin too LOL)

He's also a camwhore, all these years, we've had thousands and thousands of photos. He even took a shot of us inside the car!!!! CamGigolo I meant! lol

One thing about Keith is that he's a sucker for gadgets, look at this "paparazzi" shot on our first HK trip together. For goodness' sake, the camera store was closed and there he go looking at the camera and calculating how much it is! LOL He's also a SMART SHOPPER you know!

Aside from gadgets, he loves Chocolates!

He also loves Animes and cartoons....CHILDISH!!! tsk tsk tsk
(can't complain, me too! lol)

He loves to hang out with me anywhere I want! When I have my coffee cravings, he'll go with me and we'll just sit, talk and go crazy!

He's so supportive of my dreams. He supports me when I studied hair cutting, he supports me when I wanted to teach in China and I have to leave him behind for 3 yrs. He supports me when I wanted to be a makeup artist and he just supports me whatever makes me happy! Even waiting for me at a salon when I had my pedicure! LOL

He treats me like a princess, when we dine out, he makes sure he serve me food first

He bought me flowers, sometimes, on no special occasion at all!

He loves cute stuffs coz he said it reminded him of me...awwww He never stop buying me stuffs just to make me feel special!

And you know what made him so special? He loves my pets! This is a photo of my Pomeranian when he was still young. I've got 3 pomeranians now and he loves them all!

He loves my friends and would be there to every events / reunion I have with my highschool or college friends. My friends love him so much too! They get a guy's point of view on everything! One time, we even stayed at a friend's house to chat til 5:00am! All girls and just him!!!

He knew how to take care of my friend Robyn when she arrived from Australia.
He's such a wonderful tour guide!

He loves kids! I can see the pure happiness he has when he plays with kids

** no Caitlin is not our kid, lol she's our god daughter :)

He loves his family and my family! He's a family oriented person! That is really important for me coz I love my family to the max!!!

** Keith's Family :)

And last but not the least, he is a perfect man, for me, I cannot live my life without him. This post is definitely not enough to express how grateful I am to have him in my life!

Happy Birthday Dearie,
I LOVE YOU!!!!

Weekend Food Tripping at: City Best

Weekend food tripping comes in early today!!! Me and hubby had a dinner date with my Family! Coz it was my brother's birthday last September 2nd. We've decided to eat something warm, something we are used to....Chinese Food!!!

The City Best Restaurant is a Chinese Restaurant that hosted a lot of weddings and birthdays. On that day when we arrived there. There's a birthday party and I was able to see Barney and the rest of his crew! LOL

Now now, let's start with the food!!!!

Beef, Crab, Egg Soup (we ordered Small, good for 5 people)

The small sized soup order is just perfect for 5 of us! (mom, dad, bro, hubby and me). I love the taste of the soup! You can taste the beef, egg and crab! I love this!!!!

Yang Chow Fried Rice - Medium

My brother's eyes went BIG O when he saw the serving, he thought it was too much, but you know what??? They finished it all!!!! I love the rice coz it's just the right texture, ample amount of shrimp and Chinese Sausages.

Here are the main dish, I am the queen of "ordering". I made sure to order variety, so definitely there's Beef, Pork and fish (I let the chicken go coz I tend to be allergic to it) lol

Beef Strips - Medium

The beef is cooked just right. Easy to chew and it was thinly sliced with the right sauce!

Sweet and Sour Pork - Medium

I've had sweet and sour pork many times in my entire lifetime. But most of those sweet and sour pork I've had are made of 50% fats! This one is different! Doesn't taste like ketchup!

Steamed Fish (Lapu Lapu) with Celery - Medium

We've decided to get fish strips instead of the whole fish! LOL we are just too hungry and we just want to eat it without being bothered! Again, this is another great dish! It was cooked with celery! I don't usually eat celery but this dish was an exception!!!

Total amount paid for all the above dishes = Php1,800 (approx $40.00)

This was my 4th time eating here. Food gets better as I heard there was a change of management. BUT, based on my observation, the quantity of food lessened though compared to the previous management. But you know what? I'd rather have great tasting food with just the right serving rather than a "so so" tasting food with big servings.!

I will definitely dine here again!!!

Now, while posting this, I am getting hungry again!!!!
I hope I'm not making you gals hungry!!!
Bye!!! *runs and get some food* LOL
