Askmewhats Version: "Spring Bloom" Look

*Breathes deeply*

I didn't realize that while cropping my photos, I wasn't breathing much! LOL Yeah yeah, I may be a cheerful person but BOY! If I work, I work like there's no tomorrow! I am so dead serious when I do something and you can just scream at me and I would not even notice! So yeah, that's something you can learn about me!

Anyways, I've done another look and this is just one of those looks that I didn't gave a lot of thought on the color combination. This is just one of those looks that I've done when I just looked at my make-up collection, grabbed some brushes and started playing with my eyes. Yeah...that's how I learn the pros and cons of my face! LOL I learn which color really works for me and which doesn't.

I have been sporting a lot of dark looks lately in this blog and I don't want my readers to forget my real face harharhar!

So, this actually came out alright, I think I got inspired by the Spring Looks that I've been seeing around lately on posters or magazines!

Here's the look

And here's my diagram! :D

1. I applied Bourjois Pearl Eyeshadow in Beige Rose (from a lovely friend in Malaysia, thanks to you! You know who you are) as a highlighter color using my Prestige Shadow Crease Brush

2. Using the Urban Decay Book of Shadows (from Gracie)
I chose the color Absinthe, apply it in the middle of my eye using the blending brush from the UD Book of Shadows (I actually love this brush)

3. Using the inclusive eyeshadow brush from the Urban Decay Book of Shadows, I applied MAC Bright Sunshine on the inner 1/4 of my eye, using tapping motion.

4. Going back to my Prestige Eyeshadow Crease brush, I applied NYX Rust instead of the regular brown shadows I use for the crease area.

And here are other products I've used not shown on diagram

  • Paul & Joe Face Color 08 as blush
  • Paul & Joe eyebrow Pencil no. 2
  • Cover Girl Lash Blast in Black
  • Cover Girl Wetslicks Amazemint in Toast-ed
  • Joppa Mineral Foundation in Medium Light #2 (not on photo)

And here's what I usually do before taking a shot...
Brush my hair! LOL
(but I got caught on cam this time!)

And before I finish this post, let me tell you that I felt too tired the past few days....so I grabbed on my cool blood pressure monitor! LOL And checked on it..what the heck? I tend to have low blood pressure at times.... my reading goes 106/72...Normal? Abnormal? LOL

Yes my dear friends,
We should remember to take care of our health!
Listen to your body, if you feel tired rest
If you can't smile...frown...
as long as you are true to yourself...
Give yourself a break, you deserve to be happy, pretty AND healthy!
Happy weekend everyone!

Reader's Corner: Askmewhats Answers

How's everyone doing? It's Friday! Let me start off today's post by answering a reader's questions over email.

Readers asks:
How do you style your hair daily? What brushes/combs do you use?

Askmewhats answers :

I live quite far from work, so I cannot do all the lovely things I want to do for my hair. Let me show you the 3 brushes I use....

1. I blowdry my hair quicly until dry (Doesn't have to be completely dry)
2. I use my Conair Wide Tooth Comb to untangle my wet hair, I've had this comb for more than a decade! LOL That's how I take care of my stuffs. I never brush my hair when wet!
3. The round brush from Revlon, I sometimes use it for my bangs, as I want my bangs to have body.
4. The final brush is made by Vidal Sassoon, I only use this if I feel my hair is a bit limp and I want to add volume to the roots area. This brush is perfect if you use a blow dryer, as it has vents for the air to circulate.

Readers asks:
You seem to like Paul & Joe products, is their liquid foundation heavy? Is the powder compact too powdery or it melts on your face? Does it leave a white cast? And what other products do you recommend from Paul & Joe?

Askmewhats answers :
Let me answer it one by one to make it clearer and easier for you guys to read :D

You seem to like P&J products

Yes I definitely do!

Is their liquid foundation heavy?

Paul & Joe has 2 types of liquid foundation -- The Light Cream Foundation N and Protective Fluid Foundation

That's what attracts me to try on P&J products. They offer lightness and dewiness to the skin without the heavy feel. I haven't personally tried the Light Cream Foundation N but I have tried on the Protective Fluid Foundation and they live up to my expectation. Imagine yourself applying your favorite tinted moisturizer but with COVERAGE.

Is the powder compact too powdery or melts to your skin?

P&J Protective Dual Powder Foundation is my favorite of all P&J products. You can apply it with a sponge or brush and it never cakes. It's definitely not too powdery but I can't tell though if it melts to your skin because I always use a primer for my clients if I know they have oily skin. Just like regular powder foundation, you do need to reapply on oily areas after 2-4 hours of application.

Does it leaves a white cast?

NO

What other products do you recommend from P&J?

LOL I am sure a lot of you know I've been using a lot of P&J and you would think that I'll recommend everything I used. hahaha Well, let's face it, we all want to save up, so I may choose one product I would highly recommend from P&J aside from my favorite Protective Dual Powder Foundation. I would recommend the P&J eyebrow pencil as my other favorite! I actually bought all colors available for their eyebrow pencils because it is just natural looking as long as you choose the right shade :) I've talked to the P&J SAs and they told me their bestseller would be the eyebrow pencil no. 2

So, that's it!
I've answered some of the questions you asked :)
I hope I was able to help you guys!
Take care and keep that smile coming!

Nail Art Tutorial: Sparkly Blues

Hey everyone, it's another post for nail art!!!
Again, I am in no way expert on nail art, there's a whole lot of expert nail art bloggers out there! So enjoy seeing "imperfect" nail art! :D
Who cares right? lol

After my dark Halloween nails, I've decided to do something..well..still dark! hahaha I got really intrigued with the color of the polish. It's actually from a local brand called Caronia. It's a lovely blue color and I don't have the polish as I borrowed it! LOL

Step 1:

Apply 2 coats of your favorite polish (find the only lovely blue color made my Caronia)

Step 2:

Using a colored 2 way nail art pen, make 5 small dots going upwards

Step 3:

You can use the same color, or in my case, I chose a different color, and create 5 tiny dots on the other side

To make it easier,
I've drawn computer dots to show you the design
(in red)

Step 4:

Using a white polish, line a curve in the middle, again, doesn't have to be perfect :D

Step 5:

Top the white polish with a silver or any glittery polish to make it shine!

Step 6:

Top it with a coat of top coat. I've used Sally Hansen's Base and Top Coat

Because of the Top coat,
everything just shines so the design wasn't captured well in photo :)

But you got the drift :)

A couple of days ago, I just reviewed my Sally Hansen's Base and Top Coat. I just wanted to add something on my review, just to let you know, I have done this nail a week ago! And I did explained the chip that my pinkie finger has from the torture of typing. The one week mark has passed and I'll show you how my nails look like at the moment...yes..at the moment! I just stopped blogging for a bit and took shots!

Right hand, everything intact

What do you think?
Well aside from the chip, it's not bad at all!
Still shiny, looks new!
Darn chip, why do you have to show up?
Have a great Wednesday or Thursday dearest!

Shameless Plug: Pretty Nails Shop

Hi everyone!!! I know a lot of you gals have seen this banner for a month now on the upper left hand side of my blog. I haven't formally launched this site as I've been traveling and been busy with coordinating with the supplier and of course shipping details.

I've met some of my readers because of this 2 way nail art pens! Thanks gals for meeting up and for being so sweet <--- You know who you are!

If you are a reader of my blog, you'll know that aside from Make-up, Product Reviews, I am in love with nail art and I can't help but insert some "amateurish" nail art just to brighten up your days! I've decided to start this business because a lot of my readers were emailing me on how I got these pens, I got them really expensive because I bought it from a non-supplier, so really, my wallet isn't happy. After long search, I've finally found a supplier, met them personally (lovely people by the way) and thought of sharing the joy of nail art!

I am selling these set of 24pcs nail art pens! Some may ask why I'm not selling it individually, reason? It's cheaper to buy in bulk and of course, I don't want to end up with duplicate colors that are not sale-able!

Interested?

Click the banner above! Feel free to email me at sales.prettynails@gmail.com

For askmewhats readers ---
I am giving 10% off!

(good while stocks last)

Just tell me you found my shop through my blog!

Thanks!
