Askmewhats Version: "Teal I Met You"

Happy day everyone!
LOL I can't stop smiling on my own post title.
I've named this look "Teal I Met You" because I've realized that I haven't been doing much "teal" looks :) So I've finally met a nice looking teal color! And I'm in love with it!
It's not so drastic but it's "cool" enough to be done for night outs!

Let's just say, a look for both day and night! :D

Here's a final look!

Askmewhats Diagram

Always prep your lids with a primer

And if you want a more "obvious" look

Apply any cream based e/s

Since I am eyeing for a bright look

I applied Fashion 21's Pearl e/s stick

all over lids including
the inner corner

up to the brow bone

Step 1:
Using any flat shader brush. Pat on a matte white e/s all over the inner thirds of the eye including the brow bone area (the effect is shimmery because I have a shimmery cream e/s base)

Step 1:
Pat on Makeup Masala Mineral in Jadoo on the center of the lids. Do not worry about blending yet

Step 3:
Using a blending brush, apply any dark "bluish toned" e/s on the crease area. I am using Laura Mercier's Blue Sky Quad's darkest color. It has a hint of blue sparkles on it.

You can always choose
to
intensify the colors
if you want

Step 4:
Create small winged eye look with your choice of gel liner/liquid liner/ eyeliner pencil. I am using Stila Smudge Pots in Black with my Ecotools Bamboo Eyeliner brush.

Do not forget to curl your lashes and apply 2 coats of mascara. Thanks Gracie for the Clinique Mascara sample :) Love it!

Final Look

Reader's Corner: How to Contour

Question:

"Nikki, if you're not so busy, please do a tutorial on how to contour the cheeks. Im really curious how to do that because I've been blessed, err.. cursed.. with full cheeks " --- Khymm

Answer:

Hey Khymm, yes I'm not busy now so I got the time to do a photo tutorial on how I contour my cheeks. There are so many ways to contour the cheeks out there, but you are one lucky gal! I am blessed with full cheeks too! So I will share with you how I contour my cheeks. Hope this helps! :D
What do you need to contour and blush?

  1. Dark contouring powder or bronzers
  2. Your choice of blush color
  3. Highlighting powder or any powder that's 2-3 x lighter than your skin
I will be using
Dollface Contouring Palette
in this tutorial

Brushes to be used?
Your choice

Step 1:

Choose your preferred brush or any brush easy to work with. Dip in a matte brown or bronzer onto the brush

Do not forget to tap on
the excess powder

Step 2:

Press the brush just in front of the ear near the hair line.

Step 3:

Swipe the brush in an angle (like a diagonal inverted triangle) as shown on picture below. You can build the color as you go on!

Step 4:

Using the same brush or you can use a different brush (again your choice), choose your blush color. Do the tapping motion again.

Step 5:

While the contouring powder (black triangle) is not yet blended, apply the Blush powder on top of the contouring powder (pink triangle), the application is the same manner as you apply the contouring powder.

Step 6:

Using a loose powder brush, in my case, I use my Ecotools Kabuki Brush, gently blend in the colors together.

Tip: In this step, you can reapply the contour powder and blush powder if needed.

Step 7:

After the contour and blush powder are blended well. Dip in the brush with any highlighting powder you prefer.

Apply sparingly right above
the blush powder
and you can also include
highlighting the browbone
if needed

Here's the final look

(Note: I applied more than the usual
to show the colors on photo)

This is just one of the many
contouring
and blushing techniques :)
Try to experiment
and see which works
best
for your facials structure!
Do have fun on the process!
Keep smilin'!

AMW Makeover: Graduation Day

(Note from author: I would like to thank Rhea for permitting me to post her photos)

Happy day everyone!

The weekend has been busy for me! One busy thing that I love to do is doing a makeover for Rhea, graduating for her MBA degree! She also requested a long lasting makeup as her graduation starts at 9am and she will be busy with her daughter's birthday party in the afternoon.

Long lasting makeup! :) That's a challenge I am willing to take!

Here's Rhea and
her wonderful daughter
Andie the cutie :D

Since Rhea is such a cool mom!

She said she's open for any eyeshadow colors!

I did quite a colorful
yet not so overwhelming eye look

This makeup will complement
her white graduation outfit!

She also trusted me to do her hair!
I am in no way an expert on hair

But I do know a thing or 2 on curling! :)
