Askmewhats Reviews: MUFE Eye Seal

Good morning!!!! Are you smiling today??? Funny thing, I know I am, this has been one of the challenging week but I found myself..smiling and enjoying every moment of the day. I guess I am FINALLY learning how to take one step at a time...life has to go on..I don't have to carry all the burden on my shoulders..I can put some inside my makeup traincase and leave it at home! Great idea! :D

Remember my post on finding the best eyeliner that stays??? If you have short term memory like I do, please refer my post here, but I know everyone has great memory...except me :( !

Today, I am not saying I found the best eyeliner pencil! I am saying, that I've found the best eye sealant that makes my pencil eyeliner, or eyeshadow-turned-to-eyeliner stays longer and best of all! Smudge-proof and waterproof!!!

Makeup Forever Eye Seal says ---

An alcohol-free liquid that sets and waterproofs all powdery makeup and pencils.

It is formulated to increase the intensity of makeup colors and pearl effects as it instantly waterproofs your makeup.

How to use
  • Put a few drops in a cap or bowl.
  • Fill the brush with the liquid and apply it over powdery makeup.
  • Draw the line immediately and let dry.

Ingredients

Askmewhats says ---

Pros
  • you can have more choices of eyeliners as any eyeshadow shades can turn into eyeliner with this wonderful eye seal
  • creates waterproof eyeliner, lasts the whole day
  • a little goes a looooonnngggg way! No matter how small the packaging is, it will last!
  • simple, no fuzz bottle
  • no more smudging and smearing!
  • great to apply on lower lashline too!
  • can be easily removed with your regular makeup remover
Cons
  • to people who have SUPER sensitive eyes, be careful, as anything you put onto your eye could irritate it.
  • NONE, that's IT! Maybe just the fact that I have to wash my eyeliner brush more often as it can turn my brush into a hard stone!
Overall

I seriously haven't tried any eyeliner pencils that does not smudge on me. Gel liners can do the trick but not everyone is into gel lining or liquid lining their eyes, pencils are still the best but it can smudge like crazy especially on humid weather!

After using this MUFE Eye Seal, I am starting to love my pencils again! It seriously makes my "supposedly waterproof" eyeliners into "certified waterproof" eyeliner pencils!

Tips
  • use a small cap to do one drop and dip your brush to it, do not pour this directly onto your brush as you could waste a lot of product
  • one small drop is enough for both eyes
  • the brush hair will harden after using this Eye Seal, so make sure to clean your brushes upon each usage
  • always check signs of irritations, after application, if you feel a tingling sensation, itchiness or pain, remove the product immediately
  • want to "double waterproof" your eyeliner pencils? Dip your brush with this Eye Sealant and line through the pencil liner with the eye seal for longer wear
  • do not apply on waterline as it could irritate your eyes
  • solution dries pretty quickly so you have to work fast!
  • want your eyebrows to last longer? Dip your brush with this eye sealant and "seal in" the brow color
  • never pour this liquid directly to the eyeshadow on the pan! it will ruin your eyeshadow as it can harden it!
  • as usual, put on the date on your first usage to monitor expiration (I am very particular with any face or eye products on expiration dates!)

Will I repurchase?

Yes! Yes! Yes!

Where to purchase and how much?

At MUFE stores for Php1,250 (approx $26.00)

Size as compared to my small hand

Still unsure of it's size? Compared to a q-tip
(q-tip comes in 1 size only, so I hope this is a nice comparison lol)
How creative can I get? :P

A close up on the bottle
Looks like the head of Visine

Just a bit larger

I will show you some photos on some eyeshadows I've used as eyeliners swatched on hand to see how pretty it gets. I'll do a revisit in the future for the waterproof, smear-proof, smudge-proof power of this Eye Seal! It has to be further tested...you know my keen, watchful eyes...nothing can be missed! :D

Here are some random products I've tried to test the MUFE Eye Seal. I've used 2 kinds of eyeliner brush from Charm and some random eyeshadow both loose and pressed.

No base
Used a small drop of MUFE Eye seal on each color
swiped 2x

  1. from Arezia palette light brown e/s
  2. MAC pigment in Vintage Gold
  3. Coastal Scents Blue Diamonds Shadow
  4. Laura Mercier Blue Sky Quad using darkest color
  5. Arezia e/s in green
  6. Arezia e/s purple
  7. Arezia e/s red
(note: nos 3 and 4 looks like the e/s smudges, but it actually didn't, its my fault!
It was the way I applied the liner I wasn't careful!)

I actually tried to smudge them with my fingers, it didn't budge!
I washed my face and hands, it stayed put!
It was easily removed with my Shu Uemura Cleansing Oil :)

Now, it's time for me to be creative and bring out the different colored e/s to create colored eyeliners! Whoopyyyyy!!!

Askmewhats Version: "Jessie Glova" look

Happy Tuesday people! :) I will take a rest from Work look but this is still a workable work look for everyone! I have tried the Jessie Glova 28pcs Neutral palette which is like the Coastal Scents 28pcs palette (thanks to Kim for the wonderful and quick shipping). I remembered one of my dear reader wanted me to do a neutral look that's focused more on mattes! This is the best palette to do a matte look and any other looks!

AMW Diagram

Step 1:

Prior to e/s application, I prime the eye with Fashion 21 Stick Eyeshadow Liner in Pearl. Blend using my fingers.

Using a flat shader brush, apply a matte cream e/s on the brow bone area going to the inner corner of the eye.

Step 2:

Using a crease brush (MAC's 226), apply a shimmery maroon e/s all over the outer corner of the eye. Blending it inwards.

Step 3:

Using the same brush, patte on matte black e/s on the outer v to deepen the look of the crease area.

Step 4:

Using my MAC's 217 brush or any blending brush, pat on shimmery brownish gold e/s on the center of the eye lid creating an illusion of a "bright eyed" look.

Step 5:

Line your upper lashline and lower lash line with Maybelline Eyestudio Vivid & Smooth Liner in Dark Purple blending it with my Smashbox's Pencil brush.

Do not forget to curl your lashes and apply 2 coats of mascara
using Maybelline's Volum' Express Cat Eyes in Feline Black

Final look :)

For the face:

Joppa Full Coverage Foundation
in Medium Light #2

buffed with Ecotools Kabuki Brush

For the cheeks:

Arezia Pinkish Blush
using Thevi Dome Blush 15

For the Lips:

NYX Round Lipstick in Jupiter
Shawill Gloss

Semi braid your hair, like a crown
and smile away!

I know I've been doing a lot of light and fresh looking makeup for the past few weeks! I'll be doing some request from readers for dark looks! Keep reading and I'll slowly do "most" of your requests! Thanks for being patient!

If you wonder how the Jessie Glova palette works, do watch out for my review on that palette as I'm still working my way creating different looks before I can do a final review! Again, thanks for being patient...I know..repetition....sign of old age! LOL

Askmewhats Reviews: Magic Hair Removal Wand

Happy Monday! The week starts with a good note on my part. Why? I had my weekend hair treatment, didn't touch my nails as I broke my pointer finger nails (to the max!), had my beauty sleep, cleaned some stray hairs on my eyebrows...and...I've used Magic Hair Removal Wand for the first time!

What's a Magic Hair Removal Wand?

The Magic Hair Removal Wand says ---

The Magic Hair Removal Wand is a simple device for removing unwanted facial hair without waxing, bleaching, tweezing or shaving. When used properly, the wand removes facial hair by the roots quickly and effectively.

Askmewhats says ---

Pros
  • hair growth takes longer time
  • it does remove the stubborn hair on my upper lip area
  • inexpensive as compared to going to a salon for threading
  • quick and easy to do if you're accustomed to this
  • does not drag your skin, only pull out the hair!
Cons
  • painful! It really feels like threading!
  • can leave redness and irritations
  • limited areas to remove hair
  • for people who hates made in China products ....

Overall

Before I start to say anything, I have to let you know that I have high tolerance to pain and my facial hair is almost invisible.

This product I believe has been originated by the genius Japanese! It's called EPIcare magic wand and I've seen beauty gurus on YT using it and a lot of beauty bloggers have blogged about this. I never really thought of using this til it became available locally!

This is a very cool product, I have to say, I had a hard time figuring this out for the first 10 minutes and I just can't seem to do the right thing, it's like learning to ride the bike though, once you learn it, you get the hang of it!

The Magic Hair Removal Wand is (for me) better than waxing as I get to be OC on the hair on my upper lip! Waxing at times leave small stray hairs.

This is perfect for someone who hates to spend money or feel embarrassed to do upper lip threading especially on salons. This is also perfect for busy individuals who'd rather spend free time relaxing at home. The MHRW is actually perfect for me as I've been super busy! I am actually looking forward for my next MHRW experience! I've done it once and it was a successful one!

Tips

from magichrwand:
  • always check that your skin is not damp or oily before using
  • stretch skin by pushing outwards with your tongue to maximize the effectiveness of the wand
  • always make sure that the wand is bent in an inverted U
  • make sure your skin is cleanse, toned and moisturized after each use of Magic HR Wand.
  • for people with sensitive skin: Apply antibacterial or hydrocortisone cream to avoid irritation
  • frequency of use is from 3 days to 4 weeks depending on your hair growth
  • hair does not have to be fully grown to use the wand
  • use soft dry brush to brush off hair from spring, wipe the wand with dry cloth after every use
  • avoid pulling, stretching the spring as it will reduce the effectiveness
from AMW:
  • I seriously feel this is the best to use for upper lip and facial hair, please DO NOT use this for your eyebrows or bikini area
  • for first time user, it takes a whole lot of time to get used to it so do it slowly! Never be in a hurry
  • again, for first time user, do use this when you're sure you've got nothing important to do or nowhere to go on the next day, so just in case you've got scarring or irritations, you don't have to panic!
  • if you have low tolerance to pain, do put an ice on the area so the pain won't be too much
  • never wet this as it may cause the spring to rust which is a big NO NO.
  • practice definitely takes perfect!
Will I repurchase?

Yes

Where to purchase and how much?

At magichrwand.multiply.com for Php280.00 + shipping (approx $5.83)

Directions - Bend and Roll
  1. Bend the wand downward like an inverted U and place against your face where there is unwanted facial hair. Hold the handles using thumbs, index and middle fingers.
  2. Roll or turn the handles inward and outward between your fingers in a continuous motion. You will feel a tingling sensation as hair is being lifted by the roots.

After 10 trials, my first Magic HR Wand is a
SUCCESS!
(click photo to enlarge photo to see poor hair of mine) lol

Check out the redness right after usage
Redness gone after 5 minutes!

(thank you Lord)

Weekend Food Tripping at: HapChan Tea House

Happy Sunday! The weekend flew away quite fast! But I won't finish the weekend without any food tripping post right? This weekend is another Chinese Dish food escapade!

Hap Chan Tea House!

I remembered Hap Chan restaurant as a "warms the tummy, warms the heart" place for me and my poor tummy! I've always had ulcer pains when I was younger and everytime we have the chance to eat out, I go for "Warm Soup please....." that's why you WON'T be seeing any soup because I've had enough! lol

I'm also a tea drinker so Chinese restaurants who plan to sell me some drinks, nah..not with this customer! lol I go for the house tea!

Yang Chow Fried Rice Php160.00 (approx $3.30)

This is seriously the best Yang Chow Fried Rice I've tried this year!!! The rice isn't dry and its filled with shrimps, carrots, green peas and Asado or Honeycured Pork!

Roasted Pork Asado Php150.00 (approx $3.00)

The pork are thinly sliced and bathed with sweet and tangy sauce topped with sesame seeds. Because of it's smooth texture and thinly sliced, its easy to chew and it goes very well with the fried rice!

Stuffed Tofu Php210.00 (approx $4.30)

I hope I won't suffer from Uric Acid when I grow older, as I am in LOVE with any tofu dish!!! Well, except Stinky tofu! lol The tofu is cooked perfectly with the right amount of pork stuffed inside!

Check out the crunchy outer layer, soft and moist tofu with the pork

So when a new Takoyaki stand is out! Especially with a cute cartoon, and not to mention the inexpensive price, my hubby is there, salivating!!! :D
