Weekend Food Tripping at: Crowne Plaza for a Wedding Reception

I attended a wedding reception last night at the Crowne Plaza Grand Ballroom.  I seldom blog about food I've tasted inside the hotel but I guess, this is the only food tripping I've done for this weekend that's different.  I've been eating the same food and restaurant over and over again!  First of all, I want to congratulate a highschool classmate Shiela for the wonderful wedding!  I wish her blissful marriage!

I've attended a couple of functions inside the Crowne Plaza and dinner could be either Lauriat style (Usually Chinese dishes) or Set Menu.  Tonight, it was a nice set menu and shall I add I always love their freshly baked rolls?  With Lurpack butter, the best!

Young Pumpkin Soup with Walnut

The pumpskin soup is not strong in taste, just the right milky taste inside the mouth!  The Walnut and Pecan Nut Royal Flan looks a bit weird at first but its actually nice!

Salmon Tartar with Pommery Mustard

The name itself is a mouthful!  Love the Scallop and Salmon!  I can literally taste the freshness!

Braised fish with Italian Sauce

The Italian sauce tastes really different.  The shredded vegetables gave a nice texture inside the mouth!

Bacon wrapped vegetables, all went to my hubby's plate!  Not a bacon eater!  Love the mashed potatoes!  The chicken tastes ok, not outstanding but just right to fill in hungry tummy!  At this stage, I'm already full so I did not finish this dish!  Sad to say!

Warm Velvet Chocolate Fondant

with Orange Marmalade and Chocolate Ice Cream

A nice, unique dessert that I don't normally taste.  It's a combination of warm cake with ice cream mixed together inside your mouth brings a nice pleasure for the sense of taste!

My tummy was really full as I went straight to Preview's Best Dressed Ball!  Will report about it when I get the chance, for now, it's late, I'm full and I'm sleepy!  It's nice to be a pig for a day!!!

Before I end this post, a shout out to Sol from Digital Traincase for sending me a surprise gift!  It put a huge smile on my face as I was really in love with the shade of Orly Cotton Candy when I saw Jheng's post!  She read my comment and was sweet enough to send this to me as gift plus an additional super pretty pink lipstick from NYX named Acapulco!  My first time to try on NYX Black Label Lipstick!  Thanks Sol!!!

Last week has been a very busy week of events for me!  When I saw an e-vite from Yehey!  I knew I had to go to this event because HEAVEN means only one thing for me....Paradise inside the mouth!  Ice Cream!!!

The event was held at A. Venue Hall, Makati.  It was drizzling outside but it warms my heart to see familiar faces and catch up with them!

The event started with smoke, Heaven's gate came down with angels, I mean gorgeous angels strutting the stage.  Seen a couple of familiar models that I've been seeing on other events!

Do you think we'll leave the event without wall photos?  Of course not!  Look how cute Tara is with her "halo".  So she's the angel among us?  I believe so!  Everyone's an angel for sure!

I will be looking forward for more ice cream..ahem..I mean events together with these girls!

Eureka Moment: Handy Dandy Fan

I am not a "perspiring" type!  Everyone around me could be sweating like a pig while I can look cool and fresh! Sad to say, that was years ago!  My body temperature changed and it wasn't the change I want!  I've been irritable when the weather gets hot and humid and I hate fanning myself as I tend to perspire even more!  Can you believe Eureka moment today is something you always see around but never thought of really using because you think it's useless?  Well, I found out, it works and it helps maintain my cool!

We purchased these 2 portable fans for the sake of its Color, design and cuteness factor!  Nothing more!  We chose Pink and Blue because, obviously, my favorite color is pink and the husband's favorite color is blue.

I've had this inside my bag for quite some time but a couple of days ago, I needed to do a lot of walking and even inside the air conditioned mall!  I took out this fan and Voila!  Instant air circulation and it really helps!  It brings back the good mood in me!  Definitely a Eureka Moment and a wonderful find I have to share!   

These handy fans are inexpensive!  Price ranges from Php100-200 (approx $2-$4.30).  You can purchase them at local stores like Clipper, Japan Home Centers, etc..

AMW Reports: Dove Go Fresh Showeroke

Last week, I got an invite to attend the Skin-sational Dove Go Fresh Showeroke event at Strumms, Makati.  I attended another event prior to this one but I won't miss the chance to see my Vaseline Road Trip friends from the agency again!  I arrived at the event in the middle of contestants belting songs that I've been hearing over the radio.  The wonderful shower set up on stage is a very smart idea!  I love how I wanted to jump on stage and take a shower after a hot long day!  That's how inviting the stage set up looks!  

The creative people from Dove presents their first-ever Dove Showeroke.  As the name states, anyone who has the voice, the shower, the Dove Go Fresh Beauty Bar, Body Wash or Deodrant Stick plus the guts and confidence were invited to video themselves having fun in the shower while belting out their favorite shower tunes.  Entries were sent from May 25 to June 17, 2010.

Participants uploaded and shared these videos on YouTube and the top 10 videos that received the most views and likes were asked to perform live on stage at Strumms, Jupiter, Makati!  If I may add, the challenge is not over with YouTube votes and views.  Judges were chosen to give out feedback "ala" American Idol style.  Meaning...there will always be someone "Simon Cowell-ish" as part of the judging challenge!

AMW Reports: Forever 21 Private Party

I just got home from a long day of work, meeting and shopping!  I repeat SHOPPING!!!  I finally saw the "talked about" Forever 21 opened its doors for a Private Party!  It was totally different compared to the first time I visited the store.  Tonight, it's full of energy and excitement!  Handsome and gorgeous shoppers chatted giddily as they browse through rack and tried on their favorite pieces whether inside thedressing room or right in front of the store mirror!  I wore very comfortable clothing and flats!  I wore an "almost" camisole top so I can easily try on clothing without going to the dressing room!  Smart eh?

Security and a lot of sales staffs were there ready to assist you.  Cashiers are standing at their post ready to accept your cash and card payments!  I hope they took vitamins today! 

Excited shoppers picking up stuffs that caught their attention!  I advise you to request for a bag to put all your "desired" clothing so you can freely roam around the store!  Or better?  Shop with a friend so you won't feel bored!  Shopping and Bonding - wonderful combination!

Finally, I was able to take a shot together with Forever 21's Marketing Manager, Ms. Jane Kingsu-Cheng!  Congratulations for the wonderful job and thanks for the invite!

I was hungry so cocktails right after you shop makes a girl  happy!  Menu from Chef's Quarter.  Wonderful service and food tastes wonderful!!!!
