AMW Reviews: Foot Appeal Foot Peeling Mask

I have really sexy, baby feet right this very moment!

Oh, the confidence I exude ha?  Just so you know, I deserve all the arrogance because I've been suffering peeling and scratchy feet for the past 10 days!  If you're thinking I have some sort of foot disease...let's not get there!  It's not!

I was sent Foot Appeal Foot Peeling Mask months ago!  I did not test it right away as the photo itself on the packaging stopped me!  I was waiting for my birthday to pass...

The day after my birthday, March 1st, I gave this a test right away, it did nothing right after usage!  But the real story began 2 days after....

(Note from author: Do not eat while you read this post, you'll see a lot of foot-related photos! LOL)

AMW says ---
Pros
  • Packaging is great, you can be assured that everything is sealed in freshness.
  • Has manufactured date and expiration date included on box.
  • Very easy to use, mess free.
  • Foot mask can fit foot sizes 5-9.
  • The roughest part of my heel has finally "softened"!
  • Both feet does not look as dry as before.
  • No pain.
  • Can exfoliate calluses.
  • Feet stays moisturized and looking good even a couple of days after.
  • The old skin gets removed without pain.

Cons
  • My feet are peeling like crazy for more than 10 days!  It's actually embarrassing when people stare at your feet.
  • It's pain-free but it's itchy!
  • I got tempted to peel off "hanging" dry skin which does not look good at all!
  • Had a bad case of too much scratching and it turned out this way on 3rd day...(note: the redness was gone the next day, it was my fault I scratched too much!)

Overall
Don't get me wrong, I don't hate this product, this is actually super effective as after more than 10 days, I am finally seeing the baby pink feet I deserve!  This is the only foot mask I've tried that seriously removes old skin (including calluses) without pain but you do have to wait for 7-10 days!

The reason why I had a hard time using this because I am a sandals-wearer and I meet a lot of people on a daily basis, if I can get away without the "itch" and people staring at my feet, this is actually a product I wouldn't mind using again.

Tips
from Foot Appeal
  • Simply wear the foot peeling mask and leave it on for about 60-90 minutes.
  • Rinse carefully and results will begin to show via peeling in 2-7 days.
  • The skin peeling effect and duration may vary among individuals.
  • To speed up process, soak skin in warm water.
from AMW
  • Do patch test prior to usage to make sure you are not allergic to the ingredients.
  • Do not use foot mask if you have open wound.
  • Follow the time frame, do leave the product for 60-90 minutes, no more, no less!
  • I suggest users to wear shoes instead of sandals when the peeling starts.
  • If the skin around the feet gets too itchy due to flakiness and peeling, soak it in warm water or gently scrub with a soft cloth instead of your fingers.
  • Wear socks at night to prevent skin from getting all over your bed!  Yes, it does leave "dead skin trail".
  • Try not to scratch too much!
  • Do not forcefully remove dead skin as it may scar you.
Will I repurchase?
Only when I'm starting to get badly callused feet.

To whom do I recommend this to?
Anyone who doesn't mind to have their feet peeling like crazy as long as the end result is great!

Where to purchase and how much?
Priced at Php599.00 (approx $14.00), I am not sure how many packs are there in one box.  For more information on Foot Appeal, email them at customercare@imf-wellness.com or call them directly at  735-6787.  The product is now avaialble at Rustan's Essenses, Pioneer Center Supermarket, Unimart Supermarket, Cash and Carry Supermarket, ROX, and at Watsons. Add them up on Facebook (Foot Peeling Mask)

The gorgeous foot mask packaging

All you need is a pair of scissors and carefully cut the dotted lines
as shown on photo below

The mask and the plastic are conveniently attached together
just wear it like you would normally wear socks!

Tighten the plastic making sure the mask won't fall off, tape it!
The tape comes with the mask.

Wear socks and leave it for 60-90 minutes!
I left mine 60minutes because
it's the first time for me to try foot peeling masks.

Here are photos to show what happened to my sexy feet :)

As shown with the arrow, the big toe mound area is starting to peel off

Though the base of my feet looks normal,
the visible part of my feet is starting to peel off

After 5 days, the peeling gets bigger and its getting more visible

On the 10th day, the peeling is at its peak showing new skin

After leaving dead skin trail on both office and home,
it takes a lot of patience to wait for the old skin
at the heel part to be totally gone.

Today...
Exactly 2 weeks after (14 days)
sorry I marked the photo wrong, it's 14 days!

Finally, pinkish and gorgeous-looking feet without it shying away each time someone looks at it! :)
Now, would you like to stare at my feet?  I'm all ready! :P

Would you dare use Foot Peeling Masks?
Keep smilin'
Stay happy!

AMW Reports: Come shop with me at Bonifacio High Street, BGC

As a blogger who talks a lot about beauty products, clothing, shoes and food, a lot of you probably expected to see me out on malls carrying huge bags of retail happiness.

Wrong!

After a challenging incident that happened to my mom almost 2 years ago, I value most of my time by spending it with her and its no surprise that I don't go out much!  If I do go out, it'll probably be me attending events/launches or just out there buying the essentials!  That's how "scheduled" my life is.

One Tuesday evening, after a wonderful dinner at Serendra (which of course, I will blog about it on my Weekend Food Tripping), we've decided to have our nightly walk at Bonifacio High Street instead of our usual routine of exercising near our home!

*insert*  The window shopping was put on halt for a couple of minutes!  So many cute "furry friends" out for a night walk!  What I love about Bonifacio Global City (BGC) is the fact that it's pet-friendly!  I saw a lot of dog owners taking out their gorgeous dogs for a walk and I can't help but stalk them!  Saw a pair of gorgeous Siberian Huskies, at least 3 Shitzus and 2 Malteses!  At that very instant, I wished to have taken my 3 Poms with me for their much needed exercise!
I stopped by Make Up For Ever to check out their new makeup collection.  I actually took a mental note if I have enough of my favorite MUFE Eye Seal perfect for Brides and I still do have backups!  I was told they have stocks of it in this branch and I will definitely come back for these and the MUFE Aqua Eyes in black and brown as well.

After a quick look around Make Up For Ever store,  I went in The Face Shop!  I haven't been back inside any Korean Cosmetics stores after my Korea Trip!  I went there to checkout new nail polish shades and I can see they have a lot of stocks of the Changpo Magic Straight Shampoo and Conditioner and they are now selling them as a set which is really nice!

It's nice to see though that The Face Shop is selling Nail Art Pens for Php175.00 (approx $4.00).  Great news for my readers who wanted to try nail art designs with a nail art pen!  The only available colors are black and white!  Not a lot of variety but both colors are good enough to spark up your nail creativity!

I'm actually an easy-to-be-with companion when it comes to shopping!  I don't take up a lot of time in one store as I always know what I'm looking for!

ALDO caught my attention with their lovely shoes on display! Aside from shoes, I am actually drawn to the lovely pieces of accessories and bags!  Most of the stuffs there are good for working people like myself who wants to look good on any occasion!

There's something about Charles & Keith that I love, must be the brand name?  *laughs*  There are only a couple of shoe brands that I don't mind spending a bit because of the quality and design!  Charles & Keith is definitely one of them! I usually go to this trustee shoe store if I'm looking for shoes I would like to wear on special events!

Healthy Options!  I zoomed in the store because I haven't been there for ages!  Keith and I used to "food trip" inside Healthy Options, we like to purchase different chips, drinks, granola bars!

I took a break, sat down on a bench and enjoyed the gorgeous weather!  Bonifacio High Street, with its unique open air retail ambiance, lets shoppers enjoy the warm sun at day, and the breezy wind at night.  It was really relaxing to shop at BGC because the place is clean and you get to see a nice overview of all the shops and restaurants while relaxing!

Keith took a shot on the gorgeous moon that night!

Keith and I shared a bit of stories on how our day went and I asked him to play games with me just like old times!  I promised him I won't kick him if I'm losing!  I am more mature now! *winks*

We loaded our cards and we played our favorite games!  Car racing, drum playing, shooting and even those punching games!  It is relaxing to end a stressful day with games like these!  It feels nice to be kids at heart again!

Note from AMW: Keith is good at picking up toys!  We will share to you the tip when we see each other ok?

Because poor Keith has been checking out cosmetics and girly stuffs with me, I told him it's time he channel back to being a man - I mean Boy! *laughs*  Maxiworks

A "ninja" shot on my favorite Funko Toys!  I can't believe we have it down here!  Each costs around Php435.00 (approx $10.35) which isn't badly priced because I recently have a friend help me purchase from Amazon for $9.00 (approx Php378.00) each!

This is our current collection, and looks like there will be more joining Funko Robin and Funko Batman!

We also stopped by Krispy Kreme for a takeout on my favorite Original Glaze Donuts to share to the family as well.

They also have the special edition heart shaped donuts for Valentine's Day!  I love it because they have my favorite chocolate of all times --- KITKAT!  And yes,  it must have something to do with the name again!

On a last minute,  I wanted to check out Muji as I haven't been there since its launch!  I've only been to Muji in Hong Kong and I want to see what our local Muji has to offer.

It was a couple of minutes before closing time so I rushed on checking out the place!  Containers after containers...

Beauty section!  Organic skincare products, makeup tools - brushes, cotton buds, scissors etc...  I am also secretly hoping to be a student again after seeing their notebooks, pens and pencils!

Too bad it was 10:00pm already so I wasn't able to check out their clothing section!  I will go earlier next time!

We also stopped by White Hat to order a tub of our favorite original yogurt!  We have a cooler inside our car so this survived until we got home and put it in a freezer for future cravings!

It was a fun night!  I will definitely do this again!  I usually go out on dates like these during weekends, this is such a nice change to unwind on a weeknight!  Thanks to Mr. AMW for the company and it's actually our little way of celebrating Super Post Valentines!

Do you think I'm a fun shopping companion?
I hope so..I believe so! :D
Do you enjoy shopping at BGC too?

Keep smilin'
Stay happy!

AMW Version: Opening My Eyes with Purples

Purples has always been a challenge for most of us because it can either make you look sweet or the outcome could be "domestic violence".  I am quite lucky I can play around with purples without looking like  "My Husband Hits Me When We Argued".

Neutrals after Neutrals, I think its time to show some colors because summer is coming up!

AMW Diagram

Before we start:
Applied a good amount of Benefit Lemon Aid all over lids to "brighten up" the lid area at the same time, this act as an eyeshadow base.

Step 1:
Using L'Oreal Open Eyes Pro Palette 05, apply shimmery lilac eyeshadow all over lids going a bit beyond your lids for a nice base.  Using a pencil brush, apply a bit on the lower lash line.

Step 2:
Using the darkest purple color of the palette, gently sweet on the purple eyeshadow on the outer corner creating an illusion of deeper set eyes.

Step 3:
With the silver shadow, apply a bit more on the inner lids, patting motion would be better!

Step 4:
With a sponge applicator, apply the shimmery white powder on the inner corner of your eyes and a bit on the brow bone.

Step 5:
I needed a dark black shadow to create more "depth", with Sleek's Graphite palette, I chose the darkest metallic black to make my eyes bigger by applying a bit on the outer v.  Blending as the colors were packed.  With the same eye shadow, I used pencil brush to line the outer lower lash line to create a natural liner.

I gave false lashes a skip and decided to use what God has given me, my natural, non-existent lashes!  :)  I curled my lashes with Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler, applied coats of Maybelline Magnum Volum' Express mascara in Black.

I filled my brows with Paul & Joe Eyebrow Pencil no. 2

I lined the upper lash line creating a tiny wing with ELF Cream Eyeliner in Black

How to Help Japan

Dear AMW Readers:

I've been watching different news regarding the Tsunami and Earthquake of Japan that happened March 11, 2011.  These are the types of footage that you only see in movies and I can't believe it is happening in real life.  We are safe, we should thank God, but let us not forget our brothers and sisters suffering in Japan.  People who are generous in extending their helping hands when other countries are going through tough times!

I've done some research online on how to help in our own tiny ways, be careful and do your research on which organizations to donate to as there are a lot of bad people taking advantage of such situations!
  1. American Red Cross - Emergency Operation Centers are opened in the affected areas and staffed by the chapters. This disaster is on a scale larger than the Japanese Red Cross can typically manage.  Donations to the American Red Cross can be allocated for the International Disaster Relief Fund, which then deploys to the region to help. Donate HERE
  2. Global Giving - Established a fund to disburse donations to organizations providing relief and emergency services to victims of the earthquake and tsunami. Donate HERE.
  3. Save the Children - Mobilizing to provide immediate humanitarian relief in the shape of emergency health care and provision of non-food items and shelter.  Donate HERE.
  4. Salvation Army - The Salvation Army has been in Japan since 1895 and is currently providing emergency assistance to those in need.  Donate HERE.
  5. Convoy of Hope - Disaster Response team established connection with in-country partners who have been impacted by the damage and are identifying the needs and areas where Convoy of Hope may be of the greatest assistance.  Donate HERE.
I am sure there are a lot more organizations out there, feel free to comment here on other organizations for our readers to be aware on how internet is a powerful tool to extend a helping hand.

This is not a movie scene but happened in real life....

Donating money won't bring back lives, but its the best way to help those who survived by giving them HOPE that life is worth living because people from all walks of life, can come together...hand in hand.

God bless the World!
Let's not stop praying...

Weekend Food Tripping at: Chic-Boy

There is a restaurant that caught my attention Jupiter Street right next to Strumms.  It's jampacked during lunch hour, the scent of grilled meat fills the air and made my stomach growl, and most of all, here's one major reason why I have to get in to this restaurant....

The cute Chic-Boy photo!  Chic (Chicken) Boy (Baboy/Pork), Keith loves to call me a chicken because I eat nothing but chicken meat when we were dating (the reason why I am a allergic to it right now) and I love calling Keith a Pig not because he eats like a pig but pigs are cute!!!  So seeing these 2 hang out in this photo, gave me a warm fuzzy feeling...were we paid in this photoshoot?  *laughs*

Chic-Boy at Jupiter street is huge and spacious, people can dine inside and outside of the restaurant.  There is a huge space were the staffs grill their pork or chicken and you can see everything is sanitary.

Once you get to the order taker, there is a huge menu board!  Though the restaurant prides themselves for Pork and Chicken dishes, they package it in a way you have so many choices to choose from and create value meals great for office people on a budget!

Ginisang Kangkong sa Bawang
Php30.00 (less than $1.00)
Eating whatever meat-y makes me crave for vegetables!  I like to accompany my meat dishes with vegetables for a balanced meal!  I really like Kangkong and this dish came in with loads of crunchy garlic!  No-no on a date but yes-yes when you're married!  *lol*  I think I can kill a vampire 100m away!

Which reminds me to remind you, that it is quite useful to take along with you a mouth spray, I usually hate people using mouth sprays because of those in commercials or movies where guys are trying to "hit on a girl' whenever they use one, but after eating super garlicky meal, it made sense why these are useful, for temporary confidence to speak to other people after meal, then brush your teeth when you get back the office.

Note from AMW: Do not spray in front of other people!  *laughs* try to excuse yourself and go inside a restroom and spritz away.  Photo above:  Binaca Aeroblast in Spearmint and Peppermint.  Both available at Watson's Philippines.

2 pcs Pork Barbecue (CB-3)
Php99.00 (approx $2.00)
I opted for pork because I did not have any anti-histamines with me.  I like barbecue anyways.  The meal comes with 2 sticks of pork barbecue, rice and "atchara" (vegetable).  The marinate of the pork barbecue is indeed wonderful but they do insert fat meat in between the barbecue which I am not a fan of!  I'd rather go for lean meat.....then fat at the end part of the stick.

Chicken Inasal (Petso) (CB-2)
Php99.00 (approx $2.00)
When it comes to parts of the chicken, we are "breast-eaters" (don't make this X-rated ok?)  :P  We  do like our white meat.  The chicken came out grilled quite well, not burnt nor raw.  Just right.  According to Mr. AMW, the meat is very tender but the taste of the chicken itself is nothing special, just like regular grilled chicken.  What sets this one apart is the condiments that comes on each table.  A vinegar, a sweet and sour chili oil, etc..

Overall, it was a quick, fun lunch!  So many groups of colleagues, friends or even families dining in this restaurant. The restaurant opens 24 hours and does delivery service within the area.
