This is How I Do It: A Super Quick Pop of Color

Colored liners have been around for many years!  It's one of my favorite makeup tricks to look "made up" even though you only spent a minute or 2 in front of the mirror!

As years passed by, different runway shows have showcased various colored liners for impact.  Now, more and more makeup companies are putting our favorite colors up to their pedestal to show that COLORS ROCK!

Some colored liner looks I love....

Today, I will be sharing a very quick and super easy "out of the runway" colored liner look that takes only a minute or less!  This post is dedicated to girls who aren't comfortable using colored eye shadow and wants to add some colors to their daily makeup routine!  Girls, girls girls..this is where we start! :)

In this tutorial, I am too lazy to pick 2 types of product so I ended up with Estee Lauder Pure Color Intense Kajal Eyeliner Duo in Black and Blue.  I'm sure not everyone owns this nifty product so feel free to pick your favorite black and colored liners!

Let's start with the black liner, the Estee Lauder Pure Color is a Kajal Liner so this is a super soft and pigmented liner that smudges easily so it is very important to use your favorite oil-control eye primer prior to liner application.  As for me, I used my trustee Urban Decay Primer Potion before proceeding to next step.

Using a hand held mirror, I prefer to look down and gently go through the black liner closest to the last line using small, short strokes.

To some, it is easier to pull your lid upward (gently please!) and fill in excess spaces!  Some would tightline but I prefer to skip the tightlining step as my eyes get a bit sensitive and with our tropical weather, tightlining is a top candidate for smudging and panda eyes!

As soon as you're happy with the upper line, pick your choice of colored liner!  You can opt for Green, yellow, blue or even purple!  As for me, greens work so well for most people with yellow undertone and purple would go well for people with medium to darker skin tone!  Keep in mind that there are no strict rules on which color works best for which skin tone!  Be creative and adventurous!

This is the first baby blue eyeliner color I own as most of my blue colored liners are metallic blues or dark blues!  This color reminded me so much of my favorite crayon! :)

Line the Blue liner on top of the black liner to lessen the harsh line and with short, gentle strokes, smudge both liners close together so you don't get to see 2 separate lines.

Some may prefer to wing the outer corner but I prefer to keep it low-key.  As for the lower lash line, I leave it clean to prevent further smudging!  If you want to go further, feel free to use the blue liner and apply it on your lower lash line.

Okay, I guess I was smiling too much so the blue liner disappeared a bit, but I promise you, if I'm not smiling, the blue liner shows so well Mr. AMW complimented how cute I look!  (Of course, compliment your wife!  Number 1 rule to a blissful marriage! :P)

Have you tried picking a colored liner and leave the rest of your face clean and simple?
I always get compliments when I do this trick and I hope you guys give it a try! Do let me know what color you're aiming for!

Benefit Perk Up Artist Custom Complexion Correctors Review

Do you need to hide those redness and under eye circles and need some boost on your complexion but  too lazy to reach out for 3 products in the morning?  Well, I'm glad to share that Benefit came up with Perk Up Artist!  The first time I saw the product, I couldn't put my finger on what this product was until I opened the lid!  Come on, you tell me, without reading the description, would you know what this product does??? :P

(Photo below) I have this wild imagination of a portable jukebox playing 1950's song as soon as I open the lid *laughs*  Okay, since he's holding a brush, he COULD be an artist, a painter...or a crazy guy right at the corner of our neighborhood! :P

AMW Reports: The Rose Fever

Hi AMW friends!
How do you feel about receiving a lovely long-stemmed teal colored rose not knowing who it is from?  It could be freaky to some but on a special International Women's Day, it made my day!

I was having dinner with fellow bloggers and friends at Italianni's, High Street when I received this lovely rose with a short note from a man named Jorgen.  The note was short and sweet, and for a pregnant, hormonal woman like me, it made my night! (P.S. hubby wasn't jealous as I wasn't the only one who received this! :P)

To be honest, we asked around who Jorgen is and we got no response but a huge smile from people who sent us the rose.  Well, smile and *kilig* to be exact.  We still do not know who he is as of the moment but we still appreciate him for his sweet gesture.

What made me like Jorgen even more?  Well, the rose-giving didn't end that night, teal roses were handed to random women with short poem celebrating women's day on different places around the Metro!

Because of this act of sweetness, everyone's definitely wondering who Jorgen really is!  After some research on, where else?  Facebook, I found this --- WHO IS JORGEN?

It would be great if we all take part in guessing who this sweet guy really is!  Here's a photo I grabbed from their FB page...

Any ideas?
The guessing game is really going to be exciting!  Some clues that I get to gather, he's not an actor.  Okay, just a CLUE lang pala!  Sorry, the people behind this have their lips sealed pretty tight!

I Wonder: What's Your Favorite French Tip Combination?

Happy Tuesday AMW Friends!
Another I wonder moment today as I get to be a nosy woman every now and then!  (actually, all the time!)  Let's get back to basic when it comes to nail polish and nail art.  Before I got into nail art craze, I was so in love with French Tip application (still am at the moment) and it was one of those nail polish application that frustrated me as I can't seem to get the even lines that I went!  I even saved up my allowance that time to purchase my first Sally Hansen French Tip set that comes with strip stickers to guide me.  I still wasn't that successful then!

That's when I realized, creating your first French tip doesn't really require you those stickers or tapes, it all boils down to picking the right shades of nail polish!  Matte polish doesn't work for first timers and after years of testing various combinations, I finally found one that is subtle, yet works even for beginners!

The Wet n Wild Megalast Nail Colors
These 2 came in set, I got these a year or 2 years ago but I recently tried both polish out and guess what?  It was the easiest combination to create my kind of French tip!  A classy one!

Let's start with the base color called Sugar Coat, the color is a milky, pale pink shade and I need at least 2 layers for the color (I want) to show up.

Imagine the color of fake nails?  This is the one!

Making sure the base polish is completely dry, I picked up the next shade to use as my "French Tip", usually, people would pick a matte white nail polish shade but I find that a bit too bright and easy to spot if the lines are uneven.  Break the Ice is a beautiful shimmer white polish with frosty finish.

Since my nails are short, I prefer applying it vertically as shown on photo below.  The frosted finish will always create a better effect and less mistakes are shown!

Final look before Top Coat application.  As you can see, the effect came out really natural and classy!  This is my to-go-to simple French Tip application if I need to attend formal affairs like weddings!

**Wet N Wild nail colors are locally distributed by Sprint Asia Beauty.  Visit www.sprintasiabeauty.com for more product information.  Like Wet n' Wild Philippines on Facebook.
