How To: Wear Pastel Makeup (and not look like a trying-hard-teenager)

If you are reading this post, the title probably caught your attention! :P
Before you go pointing fingers at me saying I'm trying so hard to look young, well, I'm not! :)  I just have a pastel colored eye shadows that I haven't touched and it's high time I use it and share to my readers who may be a bit beyond 30s (like me...ahem!  Okay, I'm waay beyond 30) and would like to know how to use pastel colored eye shadow without looking like a trying-hard full-blown adult woman trying hard to look like a teenager!

I hope not me! :P

First off...when you plan to wear pastel-colored eye shadow, it is very important to keep the rest of your face clean yet very simple!  Thus, I highly recommend to skip that full coverage foundation and let your skin breathe!  I opted for just a moisturizer, spot conceal key areas like my under eye circles, some redness around my nose and cheeks and set with a powder.

AMW Reviews: Scholl Velvet Smooth Electronic Foot File

Can I tell you my ultimate secret?
I may seem confident showing everyone on my blog my barefaced but when it comes to my feet, I kinda shy away not showing them as much as possible!

It all started when we moved to a new home and we had the whole living room turned into a play area for my son!  With play mats taking 3/4 of the living room space, I always find myself running around barefoot!  Obviously, I can't seem to apply any foot lotion because I don't want to slip (yes, I love my back) and my other reason, I don't want my son licking lotion from the mat!  (Yes, he is now on the lick-the-mat-and-see-how-it-tastes-like stage!)

So after a year of constant running around without much TLC for my feet, it turned extremely dry, dirty and .... embarrassingly ugly :(

It was a wake up call for me when I saw my once sexy feet turned old and dirty looking :(  I am NOT joking when I say it looks dirty no matter how many times I scrub them with a loofah!

To deal with this situation and before my feet situation turned uglier by the day, I bought foot scrubs, foot scrubbing tools and a lot more!  After a month of trying, my feet-situation didn't worsen but the problem didn't go away!  It remained dry, full of lines and dark especially at the heel area.

You can't imagine it right?  I'll show you, but please make sure you are not in any way, eating or thinking about food!  *laughs*

Nothing wrong right?  Well, check the "heel" area, that area gave me the most headache for almost a year now!

DISCLAIMER: My feet are EXTREMELY Clean, I wash them and wipe them with wet cloth so many times a day I can't seem to track anymore!

Something New: NEW Palmolive Naturals Anti-Hair Fall Shampoo and Conditioner

This is my current hair length ....
Quite long right?  And I always start to sing the song: "I hate this part right here..." (by the Pussycat dolls) whenever I pick up my comb to comb through my damp hair.

My hair tends to be all tangled up and several strands of hair are left on both my fingers and wide-toothed comb!  It is normal they say to have at least a 100 falling hair on a daily basis!  But not for me, I may look like I have a lot of hair but there is this particular areas around my head wherein I can literally feel the scalp!  It was actually confirmed by my hairdresser the key area where my usual hair fall is!

And my close friends would understand why I would go beyond borders just to take care of my hair!  My hair is my pride!  Some women cannot go out without makeup, I cannot go out without at least combing or fixing my hair!

Recently, I received a gift pack from my Sampleroom Family.  It was the NEW Palmolive Naturals Nati-Hair Fall Shampoo and Conditioner and I immediately used it that night and I have been using this pair for 1 full week so I'm ready to share my initial thoughts.

AMW Reports: Clothes Buffet Season 2

I may not be called a "Fashionista" but I'm proud of 3 things ---
  1. My ability to "sniff" if a store has anything that I would want without getting inside the store --- call that talent!
  2. Just by mere looking at the clothes, I would know if they fit or not. --- Eagle Eyes!
  3. How good of a "packer" I am!  I used to work and live overseas so bringing in your whole room to another country in a large suitcase and a hand carry?  --- God's gift I tell you!
So when I heard about Clothes Buffet Manila last year, I told myself, I had to be there!  BUT, due to crazy schedule called Motherhood and a lot of conflict with jobs here and there - I missed it!  Thankfully, I was told there will be a Season 2!  And thankfully, I was on Season 2 because I heard they are BIGGER and BETTER!
The launch happened last Friday at Le Jardin.

AMW Reviews: Burt's Bees Lip Crayons

How much do you love lip products?  A lot?  How many brands can you name at the moment?  A lot still right?
But how many can you name to me that you can be 101% sure to be safe?  Even when you're pregnant?  Nursing?
Not a lot right?
Well, Burt's Bees brand definitely came to mind!  As much as I love Burt's Bees for creating safe and natural products with ingredients you can find even in your kitchen, my only complaint from them in the past is their lack of "colors".  I know they do have a couple of my favorite lip products but when I want intensity, I just had to go to other brands.

NOT THIS TIME!

I was so excited when I learned I had to do a make-up training for the Beauty Bar Staffs last month and the product focus are Burt's Bees Lip Crayons --- "You guys have Lip Crayons now???"  --- was my first question.

Thanks to May, I got first dibs!  I was able to test all 5 products before the workshop!  As excited as I was to share to everyone about it, I have to keep mum for a couple more weeks until they are available in the market --- see?  AskMeWhats can be trusted! :P

So yeah, if you were one of those who asked me in person: "What lipstick are you wearing?" and I had this weird look and changed topic --- the answer is Burt's Bees Lip Crayons!

Yehey!  No more secrets!  Because they are OUT!!!

Overview of all 5 shades --- can you pick your favorite?

a photo of Burt's Bees Lip Crayons review

There are a total of 6 shades internationally but the Philippine market only have 5.  It wasn't a bit deal because all these 5 shades are good enough for every lipstick loving gals!  You get pink, peach/coral, brown and red!
