Body Fantasies Has Disinfectant Properties!

I have seen these Body Fantasies scents in SM Department stores several years ago --- I was still in College back then so that was more than a decade ago, or 2 decades ago :P

When the brand sent me these products during lockdown, I was one of those few Beauty Bloggers who really read on ingredients list because ---

1. I have sensitive skin.
2. I like to review products so I really take notice on their main ingredients.

One thing that really caught my attention is the presence of 70% Ethyl Alcohol.  I mean, I'm not the type who would advertise and share to everyone to use these in replace of alcohol.  But one nice thought is that a Beauty Item can help sanitize - which is a perfect item especially during these times.

I also took a small peek at their Facebook page and felt a sense of happiness when I saw how the brand actively helps Frontliners by donating a lot of these products to several hospitals!  Though these items are not exactly items that hospitals REALLY need, these are the types of items that are on the category of "Unsung heroes".  Items that are deem to be pushed aside during hard times but can really make a small difference and a smile on anyone's face whenever used as gifts!

Can you just imagine how hot these days are and how nice it is to sniff something really amazing on a bad day?  --- well I could be wrong, but that's just me!

Again,  keep in mind that I won't replace alcohol with these items in my household but they are indeed "added" in my feel good items!

I may sound or feel like a less busier person during ECQ but I am actually the same busy gal as ever after the 2nd week of Lockdown.

After getting used to the "new normal", I went back on my feet doing the things I love to do and more!  I continued my "work from home" jobs while managing the household.  Because of that, I tend to stay in my room for longer periods of time doing research and answering back emails as I do various calls (lots of concentration needed I tell you!).

I also cook more than usual, you can see that on my stories!  After cooking, I would go back to my room and sit at my office corner and can still smell "food" lingering inside the room and my clothing.  I mean, that would kill ANY working mood I got left!

So this is my tiny secret to energize in between random tasks.   I tried spritzing Body Fantasies not only on my clothing but I like to spritz a few amount on pillows and stuffed toys and voila!  Instant pick-me-upper!

AMW Cooks: Buttermilk Fried Chicken

I love Buttermilk Fried Chicken!  I always order them not only for myself but for Kyle who loves any food that has a "crunch" to it.  I have mastered the art of frying since college years so I have done several fried chicken dishes!
One type of chicken dish I haven't tried?  BUTTERMILK version.  Since I tend to sleep very late at night (aka 4:00am - not healthy!)  I was busy researching on Buttermilk recipes and since I don't have buttermilk, I've decided to research how to make my own buttermilk.  It wasn't hard, thanks to "Google-A-Friend", it is just a combination of Full Cream Milk (or you can use cream) with Lemon or Pure Vinegar.

That's where this recipe was born!  I think this could go much better if I store this in the fridge to marinate overnight but I only marinated this for 2 hours!  But trust me when I say, the chicken is super tender, juicy and flavorful!

AMW Cooks: Skinless Pork Longganisa (For First Timers!)

a photo of Skinless Pork Longganisa Recipe

Ever since lockdown started.  My cravings for anything I don't have at home magnified gazillion times!  I was on my phone at wee hours of the night, watching food videos, craving and wanting to eat dishes that I don't really crave for pre-lockdown.

It must be stress, it must be panic, I don't know what it was but I knew in my heart I want to EAT LONGGANISA!

I am not being overly dramatic but the place were I live is strict so I can't seem to go out, the only person who has quarantine pass is #yayaTab and I don't want to risk and go out as well because, well, you'll understand if you are a mom!

So anyways, back to my cravings, it was perfect timing that my sis messaged me telling me how much she appreciated the Skinless Longganisa she did at home.

"YOU MADE YOUR OWN LONGGANISA?"  --- I exclaimed.
And she asked me to look through online videos and guess what?  It was indeed easy to make!  I wasn't expecting "commercial longganisa" result but it was good enough to satisfy my cravings.

Okay, I'm trying to be humble, let's just say the 30 mini pcs I made?  ALL GONE in less than 2 days!  (kind of bragging now! :P)

Anyways, sharing this recipe to you and I just want to inspire you to create your own healthier alternative (because NO PRESERVATIVES) and you know exactly what's inside these tiny cuties!

ENJOY COOKING

AMW Cooks: Shrimp, Mushrooms and Pork Siomai Recipe

Another recipe that I wouldn't think I could do in my entire "self-proclaimed" chef years!

I received a nice box from my sister who made her own Pork Siomai and I knew from my heart that I can only buy them or receive as gift from my sister who is a super good cook!

Obviously, because for so many reasons that lockdown made me a hungry monster all of a sudden, I finally had time to read through ingredients list from various cookbooks and online Food Blogs and I finally mustered the courage to create my own version of Siomai recipe with the least amount of ground pork (kasi mauubusan na kami that time!)

I figured I would like to add more mushrooms and shrimps and it was so hard to wrap because of the "watery" consistency of those 2 ingredients, but hey!  With patience, I was able to create my own Siomai recipe my whole family loves!

My parents-in-law are picky eaters and I got thumbs up from them!  That is enough for me to want to create more dishes that I thought I couldn't make but was able to survive making!

Please try this recipe and let me know how yours turn out!

How To Care For Our Kid's Eyes

a photo of How To Care For Our Kid's Eyes

It is a worldwide pandemic.
COVID19 is really changing a lot of our usual and normal activities into something life-changing!

As for me, I find it really hard especially for my son to adjust to a "stay-at-home-only" lifestyle.  We are always out and about especially during weekends!  We visit my parents on Saturday and go out to have fun in the mall on Sundays with my husband's parents.

After a week or 2 of "doing nothing".  I finally came back to my senses and realized, I have to do something about this!  I came up with a very simple schedule or set of activities for my son to look forward to!

One activity he enjoys is his "screen time" which includes him watching any of his favorite videos on Youtube (with my supervision) for 30 minutes to 1 hour max!  But before that, we study lessons he needed more attention with - Chinese Mandarin and Tagalog!  I also insert Bible Stories on Sundays!

And since I use several apps to aid my teachings, I am really concern on the eyes of my son so I've decided to share this useful information I learned from Vision Express.

Please watch this video and see how you can protect your son's eyes from Blue Light.
