Maybelline Cheek Heat Review

 

So we all know by now how Maybelline delivers in terms of creating good quality makeup, with shades perfect for Filipinas/Asian Skin at an affordable price.  

Maybelline Cheek Heat is dubbed Best Cream Blush of 2020 in the Allure Best of Beauty Awards as seen on their international web page.  There are 6 shades to choose from in this collection while locally, correct me if I am wrong, there are a total of 4 shades (1 missing in this post which is shade Lilac).

Cheek Heat is a water-based gel cream with colorful pigments that create a buildable, natural looking blush. Check out how 3 shades look on me in a glance.

Housed in a tube colored similarly as the cheek color itself, the tube felt lightweight and it must be the gel formulation that made me feel like there wasn’t any product inside!  Thankfully, I was wrong! 

With just a few squeeze you’ll get a product oozing out instantly and I tried swatching half a pea size and true enough, I get instant color without the need for adding more!

Recogen Collagen Drink

 

Call me hardworking in a lot of things but I accept calling me Lazy when it comes to drinking my vitamins or taking my health supplements.

I only got a change of heart during the start of Lockdown due to COVID-19.

I have been working from home for so many years but busy going in and out of home to send my son to and from school, attend events, work as a professional skincare and makeup trainer to going for meetings with clients for my PR work!  

Not only that, I was able to squeeze in workout time at the gym for the past 2 years doing Muay Thai, Boxing and HIIT training.

The lockdown shook my world.  I got stressed, my body settled to a potato couch life and I felt a lot of pains from a simple task like housework!  

I honestly lost the interest to move forward for the next 3 months after lockdown.  Thankfully, with the help of my son and husband plus the happiness of creating content online and my regular job, I was able to jump back to my normal self but the “workout” side didn’t really thrive. 

For the year 2021, I vouched to get back to more workouts!  Not just short lazy workouts but workout that really shoot my heart rate up!  And with that, I am more open to take supplements.  Thankfully, I was introduced to RECOGEN.

Recogen is a collagen powdered drink that aims to help restore and maintain healthy joints while doing mobility exercises,, regenerate cartilage and collagen in the joints in a safe and natural way.

So I have tried this on various drinks for a week and loving how this can be easily dissolved in drinks.  This product is odorless and tasteless and thankfully, NO SUGAR added so it never sweetened my drinks (I don’t add sugar on my drinks btw!). 

Though I am a coffee drinker, it is best not to dissolve Recogen on caffeine drinks like Coffee and Tea instead, I like to mix it with just regular water or milk!

Dear Dahlia Paradise Dream Velvet Lip Mousse Swatches and Review (Bestseller Collection)

 

I lvoe minis and I wish all brands would create such like Dear Dahlia!

The 6 mini Velvet Lip Mousse available in 4 sets (Bestseller Collection, Teddy Bear Collection, Pink Collection and Red Collection).

Straightforward.  Delivers.

I got the 6-piece set of mini Dear Dahlia Paradise Dream Velvet Lip Mousse via Sephora PH website and it was the best decision as I get to feel my favorite shade without spending a lot.  Priced at Php980.00, I got 6 shades to work with and a tube would probably last me more than 15 uses because they are highly opaque and pigmented.

Paradise Dream Velvet Lip Mousse with a unique whipped velvety texture effortlessly glides onto your lips offering a dreamy soft-focus powdery matte finish. The weightless, high-pigment formula continuously wraps your lips with intense color ensuring long-wear without the drying discomfort.

A closer look on all 6 swatches.  The first 3 look almost similar to each other on my pigmented lips but if you have light colored lips, you’ll see the difference of each shade easily.  Kindly check out my photo wearing each shade from top to bottom (from photo above).  I apologize for not being able to name each shade because they are too small for my “aged eyes” LOL

Based from my eyesight, this one is the lightest shade among the 6 and I love this for the natural effect and youthful vibe it exudes.  For the first time, I can wear such shade without much makeup on and look healthy.  

Shade 2 is similar to shade 1 but I can see it is 2 tones darker than the first.  This is perfect for those who prefer nude lipcolor but with medium to darker complexion.  

Hairstyle Tutorial: Ribbon Half-Up Half-Down

 

Always a hairstylist at heart! 

Since I have mentioned this to be my longest hair to date, I have been experimenting with diffferent styles after styles since I have gazillion of hair accessories (ok, thousands! :P)

I found a roll of polka-dotted ribbon which I bought from a bookstore for professional styling - Yes, I do hairstyling a couple of years back together with Bridal Makeup!  So yes, obviously, I didn’t get to use this as I totally forgot about them and during one of those clean up sessions, I found it again which brought me back to so much good memories!

Here’s just one fun way I could sport a simple hairstyle with a ribbon.  This ribbon is better for ANY age because of the texture, the design (polka-dots are for EVERYBODY) and the lightweight feather-like texture of the fabric!  The color isn’t outrageous making it work for any outfit color!

If you are younger, or have a daughter, you may tie it up into a nice huge bow!

Summer-Ready OOTD

 

My fashion style is quite straightforward.  

Simple, minimalistic, relatable.

I also like to wear pieces that can be worn and reworn several times because —— practical!  And since the weather is getting hotter every single day, I pulled out my colorful top that screams SUMMER!  My son loved this top so much because he loves colors!  This was just a Php150.00 top which I tied a knot and fixed the sleeves making it look more expensive than its’ original price.

The shorts has been around for so many years !  These 2 together, I felt most at-home.  

But reality is..... pigtails and cold drink will always be part of my “OOTD”.
