Make Up For Ever Concealer Matte Velvet Skin Concealer review

Make Up For Ever Concealer Matte Velvet Skin Concealer review By nIkki tiu of askmewhats.com

“How to look fresh?  How to be fresh?”

These are just some of the many DMs I get on my Instagram and I guess I have to address this question.  I have said this so many times that I do my best to use the least amount of base makeup as much as possible to give room for my skin to breath.

I only use both concealer and foundation when I go to physical events in the past but nowadays, with events all ZOOM away, I pick either Foundation only or concealer only.  I recently found a really good concealer so I am sharing it here immediately.

It is the Make Up For Ever Matte Velvet Skin Concealer (Php1,700.00).

Our 1st 24HR wear breathable, full coverage matte concealer. Co-created with our pro makeup artists, this full-coverage, blurring concealer is waterproof, sweat-proof, transfer-proof, and delivers 24-hour wear. AMW says—-

  • The packaging!  I am so happy it is a huge doe-foot applicator!  Based from the look of packaging, I originally thought it will be a pump tube and I am happy to be wrong!
  • Wide range of shades.  My shade 2.5 is perfect!
  • Gives mediumt o medium heavy coverage!  I can literally just use this and I m set for the whole day.
  • Covers imperfections naturally - from dark undereye circles to redness.
  • Matte but NON drying.
  • Does not dry out my already dry skin.
  • Does not oil up midday, non greasy.
  • Does not move.  My skin looks fab even testing this while working out and cooking!
  • Lightweight and never heavy-feel.

AMW Cooks: Orange Chicken Recipe

Hi AMW Friends!  I tried Orange Chicken at North Park recently and I got really inspired to recreate this dish since nasarapan kaming lahat (we enjoyed the dish) including my 8-year old son!  The best way to add up Vitamin C to his diet!

Keep in mind this is the simplest recipe I tried with ingredients I have readily in the kitchen!  After creating this dish, there’s one thing I will change —- the source of Orange!  The orange I got aren’t as sour or orange-y in taste, so maybe….just maybe, I should try using Boxed Orange Juices?  What do you think?

I’d love to hear your comment below!

Addendum: it’s grate Garlic Not Ginger ✌🏻

Red and Black OOTD

Red and black has always been my no-brainer outfit combo!  Some would go for Black and White, it’s always Red and Black for me!  No wonder I have a lot of different shades of red outfit in my dresser and of course, various black outfit too I can easily mix and match!

I recently hosted Lazada 10.10 Big Brand Sale Livestream for 2 days and I was required to wear a deep red outfit and I came up with this.  Comfortable yet classy!  What do you think?

The top is an old top I bought from Zalora years ago when I just gave birth to Kyle, I needed a top that is loose enough for me to breastfeed!  I actually cinched the top at the back fo this livestream so make it more “fit”.

The shorts is an inexpensive shorts on Sales which I purchased at SM Department store.  I like the extra buckle and ribbon that made this shorts unique from the hundreds of other black shorts I have! :P

For my hair and makeup, I loosely curled my hair using a 1.5 inch curling iron and applied heavier makeup - yes, that make up is quite heavy, I just have strong lighting during the livestream so my face was heavily contoured for dimension!

How do you like my livestream look?

BaiCon InFest 2021

BaiCon InFest 2021, the Philippines’ biggest gathering of creators and influencers is now in its fourth year.

On October 30-31, 2021, creators from around the Philippines will once again gather for the country’s biggest influencer event, BaiCon InFest. This year, we’re doing a major throwback to the era that started the boom of content creation - the 2000’s!

Now in its fourth year, BaiCon InFest, powered by Smart, is an event that was created to provide a platform for fans and aspiring influencers to see their favorite creators perform, educate, and even get awarded. The event that gathered 72 creators in 2019 when it had its physical event in Cebu and 108 creators in 2020 through a virtual version of the event is set to become bigger in 2021 as it will be a hybrid event.

BaiCon InFest 2020 creators
“The event will still be accessed through BaiCon InFest’s Facebook, TikTok, and Kumu pages, but this year, we will be holding a physical stage in Cebu where the hosts and even some performers can perform live and engage with their audience real-time,” shared Bea Alfar Evardone, Produc- tion Head and Creative Lead of the event.

Apart from the fun and entertainment that the event brings its audience, especially when this year’s theme aims to take a trip down memory lane by bringing back the Y2k and 00’s vibe, BaiCon is also an avenue to promote digital media literacy and the responsible use of the internet.

“We believe in the power of the internet - it has many benefits but it can also be an avenue for negativity. From the spread of fake news, the practice of the cancel culture to online exploitation, many netizens can fall prey to this internet negativity. But if there’s one thing more powerful than the internet, it’s influence. This is why BaiCon InFest fuels creators and influencers to be the champions against internet negativity,” Evardone added.
That said, the event is set to include sessions where creators and influencers educate the audience about using the internet responsibly. Educational skits and talks will fill up the whole event, all while having one grand, entertaining time with your favorite influencers and creators.

To further amplify the message on the responsible use of the internet, the event also serves as a fundraiser. While the event may be accessed for free, audiences are encour- aged to make donations to the #CreatorsUnitedPH, a cause that aims to provide 1,000 students who go to school in mountain barangays across the country with digital media literacy workbooks. Donations can be done via our website at www.baicon.ph.

The event is expected to bring in more than 100 creators from all over the Philippines and some parts of the world. Joining us this year are AC Bonifacio, Kween Yasmin Asistido, Dimples Romana and her husband, Boyet Ahmee, Dr. Kilimanguru, Kimpoy Feliciano, Angie “Anghet” Cayetano, Mikey Bustos, Gino Quillamor, Bogart D’Explorer, Medyo Maldito, Snake Princess, Kean Cipriano from the band Callalily, Ramon Bautista, Jen Barangan, Jae Miranda, Ady Cots, Mayonnaise, Xavier Gonzales Solis, Erwan Heussaff, Mark del Rosario, Renz David, Ian Mauricio, Kit Digno, Dr. Dex Mallari, Dr. Zeke Albaria, Ninong Ry, Alem Garcia, Phillip Te Hernandez (Davao Conyo), Malaya Macaraeg, Kim Charlie Cruz, Gandang Morenx, Chinky Enopia, Deedee Villegas, Clare Inso, Chezka Carandang, Inka Magnaye, Dom Guyot, Justine Luzares, Maggiekarp, Amara, Blink, Nikkinikki, and many more.

Love Your Skin, Love The Earth

Out of all the beauty products, I skip body products the most!  I felt like my face needed the hydration more than anywhere else, which was wrong by the way!

So it was just recent (during pandemic to be exact) when I started to lather up on lotion all over my body particularly my favorite brand The Body Shop.  The specific Body Butter that I have been using for years are the Almond and Mango variant.  My brother who lives in China with crazy Winter weather stock up on The Body Shop Body Butters because they work!

They are so good and I am surprised to see the news that they even made it better!   New and improved formula and not only that!  Better packaging!  The tub is 100% recycled!

And aside from me being happy on having British Rose again near my bedside, they added AVOCADO as their additional flavor!  I swear, they look and smell so good!

Best of all, my skin is oh-so-smooth minus the greasy feel!  The texture is more lighther (almost like the son of heavy cream and whipped cream!) LOL.  I can definitely feel the differene and I am happy with the change!

A reminder to everyone to slather up your body with moisturizers because that’s the secret the bright and youthful skin!

That’s 90 hour moisture, certified Vegan, Fresh New Formula and 100% recycled tub you have there!
