AMW Workshop Series 9: THANK YOU!

5 years ago, I had a vision of creating my own brand of workshop so brands can easily reach out to makeup enthusiasts and makeup junkies get easy access to try out various brands without spending a lot!

It was a vision I've been wanting to do for so long.  It took me 2 years (year 2016) to finally materialize everything, with the help of brand friends and family - I finally gave it a go, praying really hard hoping I can push through this lovely vision of mine!

Fast forward to 3 years and 8 workshops after, I only had 1 last year due to family emergency (my dad had a stroke).  Come 2019, I told myself this is the year that I should make a comeback!  Thankfully, with the continuous support of the brands/sponsors and AMW Workshoppers - AMW Workshop Series 9 happened!

And I can't wait for my 10th workshop!  But before I start brainstorming on that - let me walk you through what happened during the "Get That Glow On" workshop!

AMW Workshop Series Part 8: I Woke Up Like This

3 Years Ago, I prayed for my own workshop.  A venue were makeup and skincare enthusiasts bond together with good food, great lessons, beauty session and a whole lot of make up and skincare items!  

Who would've thought this will be my 8th workshop?  I am so amazed by how God works in mysterious ways!  I love how he made me an instrument in making girls feel beautiful in and out! 

AMW Workshop Series Part 8 is called I Woke Up Like This.  This is to jumpstart year 2018 with having more time to reach our goals while looking good!  As requested by many of you, I've created a short course on how to create simple, natural, yet effective-looking makeup that helps enhance your natural beauty in the shortest time possible!

AMW Workshop Series VI and VII: Thank You!!!

I finally had the chance to sit down and sort both my AMW Workshop Series VI and VII Photos!  First of all, THANK YOU LORD for giving me the energy, talent and passion to do the things I love most!  THANK YOU!

AMW Workshop Series 3: Waterproofing Your Makeup

Dear AMW Friends who are a super long time reader *group hug*  Thank you so much for being with me all through the years, it's almost a decade now can you believe that?  I can clearly remember those days ----

And it is a perfect timing for me to share to AMW friends, especially new readers out there, how AMW originally started!

It was one boring day inside the office when I was done with my task (I work really fast guys!)  and I was there, sitting, doing nothing, thinking of ways to give back to the world in my own mini ways.

Guys, I didn't know I would be a make up artist back then.  I knew I can do random stuff like sing, dance, write, teach but never really excelled in any of those!  So I looked back to my younger years (naks, ume-emo!) and thought, I wasn't hailed "Dial-A-Friend" for nothing!  

You know, I was only 10 years old when older friends would come up to me to seek for advice.  Real-life advice!  I may not have the knowledge of an adult but I knew I have this gift of "empathy".  I understand how a certain person feel when they tell me their problems, I put myself into their shoes and really acknowledge their weakness!  Don't ask me how it happens but I call that a special GIFT from God.  I may not have the right words to say but a reassuring hug, adding some of my crazy antics can actually help ease up the trouble away! 

Yes, I was a "mommy" even before turning into a real mom!  And I wholeheartedly accept that.  That's when I thought of creating an "Advice" blog (AKA AskMeWhats), for random strangers who needed someone to talk to, just to lessen their burden without being judged!  

And who would've thought it evolved into Beauty-centered?  It was a wonderful surprise but each day, I get random emails from readers asking me advice not only about beauty but life issues in general!  That's when I realized AskMeWhats really is more than just a Beauty and Lifestyle Blog...and I wanted to let you guys know that I am NOT just a person to talk to when it comes to Beauty, I am your ONLINE friend, you can talk to me about anything that bothers you and there won't be any judgement at all --- guys, too busy for that!  hahaha

But seriously speaking, I am so happy to say, AskMeWhats version 2.0 is definitely better, and to celebrate that, I have a series of Workshops (aka BONDING time) with my readers and the first one will be this coming Saturday, September 24, 2016 at Benefit, SM Megamall Branch.

AMW Workshop Series Part 3: Waterproofing Your Makeup *FULL*

Last March, I kicked off AMW Workshop Series as my own personal brand of workshop series to teach as many women I can the ways to make oneself feel beautiful both from the outside and inside.  It was a lovely surprise, and a gift from God when I got in more requests to do the 2nd workshop which I happily did last May which I coined Perfecting Your Base.  

Thinking it would be the last of the year, I gave my all!  But, fast forward to a couple of weeks after the workshop, I get random emails, IG and FB messages requesting me to follow up with a 3rd workshop!  And guys, malakas talaga kayo sa akin!  Your wish is definitely my command!  And because I've been doing "targeted and focused" workshops for the first 2, I knew I had to think of something unique and exciting for the third --- totoo na to, Last for this year!  

Introducing....

The workshop was inspired by the extreme condition of our weather!  The sudden outpour of rain then instant summer for the next hour.  I was there, sitting right outside the school of my son, feeling "hulas" and wondering what CAN be done to create an everyday makeup look minus the grease and the "hulas" feel.  Galing ng inspiration ko no?   hahaha

So I went up to brands whom I trust and believe in when it comes to makeup artistry, thankfully they all said YES!

AMW x Dynamic Youth Workshop Series: Makeup 101 with Nikki Tiu

That prayer stands true, I thank God each and every day on the blessings I receive after I announced the launch of AMW Workshop Series last February 2016.  Who would've thought I've done a total of 4 workshops for this year?  And a 5th one coming up before the year ends!  And one Filipino-Chinese association Dynamic Youth, Inc. partnered with AMW Workshop Series to create 2 workshops for their members.

This poster was printed and posted at Liberty Hall, Buenavidez.

"Dynamic Youth Inc, a non-profit organization, founded in 1954 has a goal of promoting and maintaining the Chinese culture and language among the Filipino-Chinese youths by sending them to a study tour every summer, and officially inducting them as members of the community after the tour. With more than 10,000 members all over the archipelago, Dynamic Youthcontinues to be bonded by charitable projects to share our blessings to the less fortunate, and also fun activities like basketball, photography classes, badminton, zumba classes and more. In line with this, Dynamic Youth has decided to partner up with Ms. Nikki Tiu to hold make-up classes for our members who want to learn the how-to's of proper make-up application."

It was held 2 Sundays of July and it was one experience I will NEVER forget.

It's all about the bases girls!  I have always been a makeup artist who prefers to enhance than cover.  And let's face it, having a good base can make you look and feel good without adding too much makeup!

AMW Workshop Series 1: Get Ready For Summer Report

AMW Workshop Series --- has always been a dream of mine for the past 5 years!  Yes, FIVE Freaking Years!  It was always written on my "wishlist" whenever I have a new planner and I guess, the best of "Scaredy-cat ME" always wins!

For me to finally push it through, I've created an evil plan, a plan to counteract my fear and shyness (yes guys, I'm shy in real life! Well seriously, shy in terms of marketing myself)  I've decided to announce to all my good friends by December on my "Workshop Plans".  As they say, the power to success to is CLAIM it!  And I did!  By blabbering about it at the same time, changing my blog template and included a WORKSHOP Category.  Knowing me, seeing it "blank" makes me feel uneasy!  So I know it will push me to the limit to be Pro-active about it, and it worked!

The day, March 5, 2016 finally happened!  And I couldn't be happier!

AMW Workshop Series by Nikki Tiu...Get Ready For Summer *FULL*

Today is finally the day I'll be sharing what I've been busy working on for the past month!   This has always been my dream to create my own Brand of workshop series!  Teaching has always been my first love and I'm glad this time, I can combine my love for beauty with teaching!  With words of encouragement from friends, family and AMW Readers, with the grace of God, this is finally happening!  My baby is here!  AMW Workshop Series by Nikki Tiu

Part 1 GET READY FOR SUMMER

I planned to have this on my blog's 8th year anniversary (January 28) or on the weekend of my birthday (February 28 is my birthday).  BUT, the year started out quite challenging so the date was moved to March 5th which is also a blessing in disguise because it paved way for me and brands to work closer together to make this happen!

As much as I would like this to be a FREE workshop like I mostly do with other brands, I hope you understand that the amount you pay will definitely be worth it!  We get a good location (SanCoCo Coffee located at HV Dela Costa), the coffee shop started out just a couple of months ago and I already checked out the place and it is definitely a perfect place for my first workshop!  You get Coffee, snacks and 2.5 hours of makeup and skincare learning!  Aside from that, all attendees get to bring home goodies from wonderful sponsors (worth more than what you pay for I promise!)

For my first workshop, I will only be accepting a total of 12 attendees!  Sorry, the place is small and I want to make it more intimate, at the same time, for attendees to really learn the basics of skincare and makeup tips perfect for summer!  All you need to do is to fill up registration form HERE and I will email you back a confirmation email for payment details and other information needed.  This is a FIRST COME FIRST SERVE basis so even if I won't be able to answer emails immediately, the participants included will be based on the date and time I received the registration form.  Again, first 12 participants only girls!
