Dear AMW friends,
Who among you uses Eye cream and face creams?  I do!  I use them separately for the longest time but who would've thought I'll chance upon a product that says EYE-FACE Cream?

Found one!  From Tony Moly!

Tony Moly BCDation Cushion Plus Review

One of the most recommended base product from the brand Tony Moly by their SAs is the BCDation Cushion Plus.  As much as I try to steer clear from getting another cushion foundation since most of them are too light, dries out easily and I seldom use full face base makeup on a daily basis, I was actually sold by the SA's testimonial so I picked one just for the sake of review.

The Tony Moly BCDation is housed in a usual thick, round cushion-compact!  It's all white with a simple lettering of BCDation printed clearly which I honestly love!

Sleigh The Holidays with Etude House, Tony Moly and Boulangerie22

I have always been in love with Korean makeup brands ever since I started Blogging.  I even remember those days I went crazy shopping over Ebay!  (Yes AMW Friends, Ebay as there weren't much online makeup stores selling legit makeup and skincare items!)

And my love started with BB Creams, then gel liners and a whole lot more!  Imagine the excitement when I was in Korea 7 years ago and I got an invite for a Grand Launch of Etude House locally.  I wasn't physically there but my spirit was celebrating with them!

Then Tony Moly followed.  And look!  After 7 years, I still get invited to celebrate not only Holiday but launches with both brands + more!!!  I am very grateful to YOU my dear friends!

So a couple of weeks ago, AGC, the company who brought in Tony Moly, Etude House, Boulangerie22 and Yoree had a huge Holiday Celebration and launch at Todd English Food Hall called Sleigh the Holidays.

The celebration calls for more makeup, skincare and sweets!  Shall we start with Tony Moly?

Can You Go Barefaced?

I honestly can!  Even with dark undereye circles, laugh lines and a whole lot of skin redness, I guess, I'm at this very comfortable stage of "I don't care what other people think because this is really the way I look!"

But of course, even with barefaced look, I still believe in using SPF!  So why not include an added bonus aside from just protecting yourself from the harmful rays of the sun?

I recently tried Tony Moly Flash Primer that comes with SPF30 PA++!  It is also a BB & CC starter which I think works in making my skin "glow" even in reality, my skin is as flat and boring as Sahara Desert. (Sorry Sahara Desert, I'm sure you look prettier but I'm just making a point on how dry my skin is!) :P

I honestly feel I have a good lighting right in front of my face wearing this product!

As confusing as this product sounds, the basic functions are ---

  • As a primer: used before applying your base makeup to help moisturize skin and keep makeup longer.
  • Natural luminizer: This product comes with delicate pink pearls to make skin appears luminous and bright.
  • Brightens your skin and keeps it flawless-looking.
  • BB & CC: Naturally covers certain pores and redness to make skin appears even.

Tony Moly FACETONE Creamy Tip Concealer Review

It's funny how I have a "rotation list" of concealers I use on a daily basis and I pick the one I used based from how my undereye circles look or appear on that very day!

Whenever it has to do with the undereye circles, I prefer the liquid type concealer with doe-foot applicator on a simple everyday makeup look.  One that was kept on rotation was the one I bought early this year from Tony Moly called FACETONE Creamy Tip Concealer.

Given the choice, I would go for their darkest shade Natural Beige but it was all out-of-stock in most Tony Moly stores so I gave in to the shade P01 which is Pink Beige, not my shade for sure but a perfect one if you are aiming to cover undereye circles.

Housed in a small lipgloss-like packaging, this is very easy-to-use even for quick touch-up!

Tony Moly FACETONE Creamy Tip Concealer Says ---

  • Tip type liquid concealer effectively covers blemishes with its creamy texture.

  • Thin and light contact creates a clean surface.

Tony Moly Facetone Cover FIX Concealer Review

I remember seeing the whole Facetone Cover Fix Line at Tony Moly branch at Lucky Chinatown.  "I want them all!" is what I remembered telling myself but I've decided to pick the Facetone Cover Fix Concealer (Php378.00) instead because I use up concealer more often than foundations!

Housed in quite a large tube considering this is just a concealer, it actually has 20g worth of Concealer and loving the tube packaging!

According to the SA, it comes in 2 shades: W01 Vanilla Beige and W02 Natural Beige.  Unfortunately, the shade I'm sure that would match me (Natural Beige) is out of stock and I can't seem to wait any longer, I went ahead to pick Vanilla Beige and crossed my fingers and toes, hoping this would work!

a photo of Tony Moly Facetone Cover FIX Concealer Review

Housed in a squeeze-type tube with a sharp tip!  I am liking the packaging already!  Now, pushing the "Formal" look aside (almost like a medication from a drugstore) design, I am definitely ready to test this out because I was told this is a high coverage concealer and I get full pigmentation in just a little dot!

ever crease, flake or leave you wanting more.

Tony Moly Dual Stamp Liner Review

So there is such thing as a "Stamp Liner".  I actually wasn't in need of any "liquid liner" as I have so many back ups to date but upon seeing this new "fad" from Tony Moly store, I had to grab one!  Just because AskMeWhats is definitely a venue for something new (especially on skincare and makeup) so I had to share my find!

Well, it isn't that new because I got this December of last year, I'm not even sure if this product is still available in store!  Blame the OC-ness in me to finish my makeup before I open a new one.

Housed in a very simple black packaging, you wouldn't call this "boring" when you see what this pen can do!

Tony Moly Kiss Kiss Lip Scrub Review

Hey AMW friends!  It's Tuesday and the days flew by pretty quickly and my AMW Workshop Series for year 2017 is lurking around the corner!  Will post more details soon!

Today, I've decided to share my tiny secret on how to keep my lips half-sane especially on days I swatch gazillion of lipsticks!  My secret?  I use lip scrub to completely remove lipstick/lip lacquer residue!

Most of the time, lips/eye makeup remover doesn't do the cut!  So to answer most of your queries, you need to invest on a lip scrub!  And one brand/product you can look into is from Tony Moly called the Kiss Kiss Lip Scrub!

a photo of Tony Moly Kiss Kiss Lip Scrub_Nikki Tiu_AskMewhats

It is housed in a super cute "lip-shaped" plastic packaging and I originally thought this is a tinted lip balm when I picked this out in store!  It was a lovely surprise to find a lip scrub instead because I honestly own so many lip products and only a few lip scrubs!  The most previous one I reviewed was Bliss Fabulips and I already "hit the pan" on that.

Tony Moly Kiss Kiss Lip Scrub says ---
"Removes dead skin cells and make lips soft, smooth and elastic 2. With vegetable nature scrub complex 3. Help lip essence balm absorb into lips"

How to Effectively Use Tony Moly Cheektone Contour Duo

I've seen the Tony Moly Cheektone Contour Duo so many times each time I visit the store and I try to hold back in purchasing "yet another contour product".  Because seriously, I don't want to admit that I'm kinda shifting from "Brow products addict" to "Contour addict".

On my most recent visit which was December of last year, I caved in because I saw the lightest shade to be finally in stock!  You know AMW friends, I have this special requirement for ALL my contouring products...I can't explain it here but I just knew in my heart if I see them on pan --- no need for swatching...I just knew they will work...some kinda a "calling"  #AngCheesy

Highlight for Cheeks?

Yes!  I found it!  Accidentally....
So I was in a Tony Moly store looking for another "blush" to try and to review!  I remembered how much I love Etude House Dreaming Swan Eye and Cheek, I love it so much I kept on searching for similar colored blush to give my cheeks that instant glow!

Then I went ahead and picked the Cheektone Powder From Tony Moly in P01, I've tried other Cheektone shades (Tony Moly Cheektone Power P05), I won't go wrong right?

a photo of Nikki Tiu AskMeWhats wearing Tony Moly Cheektone Powder review in shade P01

I was a bit shocked when I came home and applied the Cheektone Powder in P01 on my cheeks without hesitation.  This is definitely way lighter than the Etude House one and the effect is, ahm...different!  It was a let-down at first for me, I thought I made a mistake and just move on!  But knowing me, I always give a "failed product" another try, lo and behold, this is turning out to be my "cheek highlighter"!  If there's such term!  I know there's highlighting products for the face and eyes, but I am claiming this to be a perfect cheek highlighter, because it does highlight my cheek bones!

Tony Moly Face Mix Eye Primer Review

For the love of eye makeup, I always use a primer even if I know in my heart my eyeshadows will last me the whole day!  Why do I depend on them?  Well, the fact that I have "security" even if I get caught under the rain, or the sudden humidity from wherever I go or simply..just for the vibrancy of the eyeshadow when I take this extra step.

Tony Moly, one of my favorite Korean Brand has their own Eye primer under the Face Mix Line.  It is housed in a simple tube with doe foot applicator which I can easily mistaken for a concealer!  READ THE LABEL Nikki, READ!

Tony Moly Spoiler Mini Cushion Blusher Review (Pink Fantasy and Rose Coral)

After almost 1 decade of Beauty Blogging, going in a makeup store and look for "what's new" in the makeup and skincare world still excites me.  That proves just how much of a "beauty addict" I am and I can imagine myself in my 60's still having this same feeling of excitement like I was only 18!

And I want to share to you the exact feeling I had when I first laid my eyes on Tony Moly's Spoiler line!  As I thought my heart was still recovering from the cute Panda's Dream Collection, who would've thought a simple black and pink packaging with a heart would give me so much joy?  Seriously, can anyone out there connect with what I'm trying to express here?

And what excites me the most from the Spoiler line is their new Sweet Cushion Blusher which is meant to be used to create a "natural glow" --- again, "natural glow" not to add extra color on your cheeks but to give your face that natural inner glow!  Who likes that?  I know I do!

There are a total of 3 shades to choose from I picked 2!  After using both for more than 2 weeks, I wanted to go back and grab the 3rd shade!

Tony Moly Panda's Dream Brightening Eye Base Review

I have always been a sucker for cute make-up packaging but mark my word when I say they never cloud my judgement when I start to review the product itself!  The launch happened last August and it took me quite some time to "ooh and aah" over the packaging and tried #Adulting for once and finally, I'm ready to share my in depth, honest-to-goodness review!

But seriously..ang cute niya no?

a photo of Tony Moly Panda's Dream Brightening Eye Base

Tony Moly Panda's Dream Brightening Eye Base is housed in a little tube packaging that I originally thought was a lip balm of sort!

a photo of Tony Moly Panda's Dream Brightening Eye Base

Upon twisting up the "balm", I was shocked!  It was literally white in color and I was assured and reassured by the SA so many times that this is meant to brighten the eye area.  I had to pick it up eventhough the makeup artist in me was screaming: "This Won't Work!"

Want Porcelein-Looking Skin? You May Want To Try...

Tony Moly's The Oriental Gyeol Goun Two-Way Pact.
Please do not expect to see this limited edition set at Tony Moly stores near you because I was lucky enough to grab the last few sets left a couple of months ago!  It took me a couple of tries before putting up a review.  Why?  because this shade is a tad bit light on me but I still manage to use this for review on days I don't need to face clients, you know, those random days I just face the computer!  Hahaha

The Oriental Gyeol Goun Two-Way Pact (Php1,148.00) is supposed to be just a two-way powder foundation (two way meaning, you can use this wet or dry).  Now, the limited edition set is perfect because I also get to try The Oriental Gyeol Goun BB Cream (full size priced Php1,348.00).

Php1,348.00

The shade I got is in 02 Natural Beige.  If you purchase the Two-Way Pact separately, I believe they also have Dark Beige as their darkest shade, but asking a couple of Tony Moly stores, they seem to be out of stock!

The Tony Moly Cheektone Single Blusher in P05 Reminds Me of....

...NARS ORGASM!
Well, not exactly but close enough!  I own 2 Nars Orgasm Blushes (1 personal and 1 for professional KIT) so I guess, I do have a tiny bit of right to say, they are similar!

a photo of Tony Moly Cheektone Powder in P05 review.

Tony Moly Cheektone Powder in shade P05
I own 2 Cheektone Single Pans of Silky Colors in this shade and in Lavender.  They are known to be a highly-pigmented powder that enhances complexions with natural color; finely-milled formulation that adheres closely to skin for long-lasting wear.

Well, that's according to Tony Moly, what do I have to say about these blushes?

Tony Moly Ferment Snail Lip Treatment Stick Review

Happy Rainy Start of the Week AMW Friends!  Please stay safe and dry!
Today, I will be sharing a lip treatment stick I've been using for weeks now, this is from Tony Moly.

The name is called Ferment Snail Lip Treatment Stick, the reason why I picked this up even if I have loads of lip treatment (backups) at home is because of the word "Snail".  Snail is quite huge in Korean Skincare and beauty regimen nowadays, so I can't help but pick one up because of the name!  And seriously, it sounds weird but this could be the answer to my "super chapped lips problem".

Tony Moly Ferment Snail Lip Treatment Stick Says ---
  • Gold tea ferment snail extract gives moisturized and healthy lip care
  • Mild on sensitive skin
  • SPF 13 protects lip from sun

Tony Moly Panda's Dream Collection Launch

When I visited the nearest Tony Moly Store at Lucky Chinatown Mall a few weeks back, I can't help but pick a couple of products from the Panda's Dream Collection, the packaging calls for my name even if most of the products I picked are really not part of my shopping list !  So packaging definitely plays a big role in MY makeup shopping!  How about you?

Then I got an invite from Tony Moly for the official launch of the cutest collection to date, Panda's Dream!  And the set up at One Shangri-la Place was definitely loaded with cuteness!

What makes it even cuter?  Pastries from Boulangerie22!

Tony Moly LipTone Get It Tint in Oh My Rose - A Reddish Orange Lip Color I Can Actually Wear!

I have told this too many times on my workshops, how much of an "orange lipstick-phobic" I am!  Truthfully, I may look okay for others when I wear orange lippies but I don't feel comfortable at all!  It must be my warm undertone and sallow skin that made me feel like I'm too "rusty" whenever I wear such shade.

During my last Tony Moly store visit, I was advised by the SA the top-selling shade of their newest Tony Moly Liptone Get It Tint is called Oh My Rose.  Without questions asked, without even trying out the tester, I picked it up and went straight to the cashier.

Once I got home, I went....OMG...this Oh My Rose shade doesn't look like a "rose" shade to me!  Seems like this is going to be one Reddish Orange Lip Color that I would stay away from for the rest of my life.

AMW Workshop Series 2: Perfecting Your Base Report

Remember last March when I kicked off AMW Workshop Series?  (Read about it AMW Workshop Series 1: Get Ready for Summer Report)

Who would have thought just a couple of months after, I continued with part 2?  And the slots were filled in less than 2 days!  THANK YOU LORD!

Here's our obligatory Class Photo!

The workshop was held at SanCoCo still, one of my favorite coffee shops to date because they serve really good coffee!  (When I say they're good, they are REALLY GOOD)

Just like any AMW Workshop Series, all the attendees will get their own personalized Ecobag with their names printed at the same time, with the names of the sponsors printed at the back!  This is just a small way of me saying THANK YOU to the attendees and sponsors for the support.  Seriously, this has all been a dream come true for me!
