AMW Reviews: The Balm Mini Kabuki Brush

How are you today?
As you all know, I haven't been blogging much about makeup brushes for quite some time!  You can't blame a girl who owns a lot of brushes!  But seriously, I am quite happy with my current brush collection!  When I attended the recent Close Up White Now Why Later event #WhiteNowWhyLater, we were each given a nice mini K-Brush from The Balm!  And I have to be honest with you, the moment I got this, I have this inkling feeling to pick up more brushes again!  I'll tell you what's my next "want" later on.

As for now, let me share to you how this cutey looks like...

The Balm says ---
A pocket-sized complexion brush.
Under two inches long, this tiny brush is perfectly sized to allow for precise, controlled application of blush, bronzer, powder, or highlighter. The compact size also allows for easy access to smaller areas of the face.

AMW says ---
Pros
  • Perfect size for touch-ups.
  • Doesn't shed or bleed.
  • No weird scent.
  • Very versatile, can be used to apply powders, bronzers, blush and contouring powder.
  • Doesn't feel rough on skin.
  • Can pick up good amount of powder makeup.

Cons
  • Just like most animal-haired brush, this one can turn rough and harsh on skin after several use.
Neutral
  • Other people may prefer the clear cylindrical tube packaging, I prefer mini pouch packaging.

Overall
Made from goat-hair, the Balm Mini Kabuki Brush is a versatile brush used to apply powdered face products.  The size is just right, perfect to tote along for travel.

Tips
  • A normal sized K Brush is best used for foundation application.
  • Best used to buff blush.
  • Best used as a retouch brush!
  • Wash the brush immediately after purchase.
  • Let dry flat on a clean towel.  Do not use a blowdryer.
  • Wash the brush at least once a week with a gentle soap, gentle dishwashing liquid or baby shampoo.

Will I repurchase?
No. I have enough k-brushes.

To whom do I recommend this to?
Girls who like to use brush for retouch.

Where to purchase and how much?
Available locally at The Beauty Bar for Php475.00 (approx $11.87).  Also available beauty bar online.

I love how packed the bristles are and the natural animal haired bristles make it easier to pick up makeup pigments.  I love to use this brush to retouch my blush and face powder.
Have you tried The Balm Mini Kabuki Brush?
What brand of Mini Kabuki Brush are you using?

Prior to the Balm, I have Charm Luxe Mini Kabuki Brush in which I tote with a cute pink pouch as my retouch brush!  To be honest, I can't compare the 2 as Charm is made of synthetic hair making it softer as compared to The Balm.

  1. It looks so adorable! But it's so disappointed that it turns rough after a while.

    1. Yes, as most natural bristled brushes do! :) But it's okay, it won't happen until very very very long time!
