Askmewhats Reviews: TFS Natural Intensive Sun Cream SPF 50

I admit it! I always skipped on sunblock lotions/creams. I have read so much about putting on sunscreen to save your skin from the sun's harmful rays, and most of all, to save yourself from speeding up your aging process.

Shame on me, I am a beauty blogger, but I don't use sunscreen!

NOW IT'S THE MOMENT OF TRUTH...

I am getting older, I am aging, and I need look for the "fountain of youth". I was told it starts with Sunscreen! Then with eating healthily, exercising, drinking lots of fluid blah blah blah (list goes on). But I did mentioned SUNSCREEN right?

Against my will, I finally bought a tube of sunscreen. This is not my first though, years ago, I have used Neutrogena (which I haven't reviewed yet...will probably do that soon).

Now, it's time for me to show some TLC for Sunscreens!

To all sunscreens in the world...this post is for all of you...for being the protector of the universe...for being Superman! Batman, Iron man, Spiderman!

The Face Shop's Natural Intensive Sun Cream SPF50 PA+++

**can be bought at all TFS shops for Php495.00 (approx $10.75)

Here's the back portion of the box
(click on enlarge if you want to read)

The tube is 50 ml/1.69 FL OZ.
Approximately the size of my hand

Texture - creamy
Color - white
Does not drip

When rubbed once, skin absorbs the cream easily

After 3 massages, VOILA! Invisible!

TFS Intensive Sun Cream SPF 50 says ---

High-level UVA/UVB sun protection in a long lasting cream formula.
Powerful sun shield blocks both UVA and UVB while the water and sweat resistant formula provides long lasting protection. Formulated with Pongamia Extract, a natural sun screen agent, Aloe and Sunflower seed extracts, it hydrates and nourishes skin to prevent sun damage to the skin. Nano sized particles go on evenly without lumping and leave skin feeling fresh.

Askmewhats says ---

Pros
  • lightweight
  • smells wonderful (light aloe, nothing too irritating)
  • easily absorbed by the skin
  • water (including perspiration) resistant
  • non greasy --- very important to me
  • can last for a long time as a little goes a long way
  • handy, packaging is sleek and nice, easy to carry around

Cons
  • with it's "matte" finish, people with dry skin would find this a bit too drying, not for me though, I always use a moisturizer underneath the sun cream
  • *surprised* NO MORE!

Overall

I have used TFS Sun Cream testers for quite some time, the original formula (which is white and green in packaging) is faced-out. I find this new formulation is better and not too drying. Though at first glance, it may be a bit too expensive for a sun cream, but compared ot other sun block lotions, this has higher SPF of 50 and one small tube definitely lasts a long time as the cream glides on easily on the skin.

Tip

If you have oily skin, they also have the Natural Intensive Sun Milk Cream, non-oil based, perfect for oily skin! Again, always give their tester a try first before buying anything. I went for their testers 2-3x and applied it on my cheek to test for allergies before I finally purchased this. Do not be shy to ask about samples (if needed) for you to be able to road test on the product before spending money for it!

Will I repurchase?
Yes.

What's in My Make-up Bag?

Lovely Tine from Beautyholics Anonymous wanted to know "What's in my Make-up Bag". I have posted it several months ago and things have changed. Stuffs had changed but the quantity didn't change much!

Yup, a beauty addict like myself carries few make-up as much as possible. I hate lugging all the make-up around (I only do that when friends would request for me to do a makeover for them). That's why I have to make sure I do my make-up well each morning and all it would only be Powder and Lipstick re-touch. That's all I'm willing to do. That's how lazy I am :P

Now it's time for my make-up bag to Shine!

I do change my make-up bag every now and then
and give them a nice wash.
Make-up bags need TLC you know!

Here are the contents

What's inside ---
  • Paul & Joe Protective Dual Powder Foundation No. 3 - my HG powder Foundation
  • Band Aids - I tend to be very careless and hurt myself :(
  • Mirror (from japan, it has the regular and magnifying one) - perfect if I want to take a peek without people knowing :P
  • Paul & Joe blush - perfect mix of peachy orange, very glowy effect
  • Paul & Joe eyebrow pencil no. 2 - if I need to refill my brows again
  • Maybelline eyeliner in Black - I don't bring this always, depends on my mood
  • Tweezers - for my newly grown eyebrows
  • Lancome Lipstick in Rose- this is a perfect pinkish nude color flattering for everybody
  • Artdeco Lip gloss - perfect glittery pout, anytime!
  • Kiehl's No. 1 Lip balm - for my uber dry lips
  • Lip brush - for my Kiehl's Lip balm, I hate using my fingers!
  • Lancome mini quad eyeshadow - if friends wanted an instant makeover

To my darling Tine, here you go! :P Hope you like how it looks. Thanks so much for wanting to see what's on my make-up bag. It's honestly boring! But I hope you like it!!!

So, anyone willing to share "What's in Your make-up bag?" I'm all EENT (Eyes, ears, nose, throat)!

Nail Art Tutorial: "My First Ever!"

When I am post my nail art, a couple of my readers would request for me to do a tutorial for them. And you guys know how much I'll try my best to accommodate the requests of my readers.

Before I continue though, I want to clarify that I am no expert in any way on these, I do this because I want my mom to have a lovely nail art on her nails. There are a lot of lovely bloggers who does nail art too and they're good! Alyssa, Cinthia and Trinh and a lot more other bloggers who definitely have passion for nailsl. Please check them out!

A good nail artist have different tools to create wonderful looks! Since I am only starting up, I've only got nail polishes, nail pens, and A WHOLE LOT OF PATIENCE and CREATIVITY!

Step 1:
Always make sure the pen is not clogged, they have a free needle, use it! It's there for a purpose

Step 2:
Unclog the nail polish pen.

Step 3:
Paint any color you like, depending on what kind of nail art you plan to do.

Step 4:
Press your nail pen and create dots.

Step 5:
Create 5 dots for "petals"

Step 6:
Choose a different color to create a flower "bud". In my case, I got light pink.

Step 7:
Do your own thing, I've decided to create a stem using white dots

Step 8:
Using a dark green color, I drew a leaf shape (came out black on photos lol)

Step 9:
With a cuticle pusher, line the leaf shape in the middle, to create a 3 dimentional leaf look

Step 10:
Top it off with a clear polish to protect the nail art

Ready for Camera!
SMILE!

If you don't have the nail pen,
you can use your nail polishes,
and cut the polish brush to make it shorter and thinner.
Again Practice Practice Practice!

Is this tutorial helpful?
Show me some luvin'!
I have to admit, I didn't have time to complete all 10 fingers!
I have to crop the photos and prepare this post..lol
I dont' want to finish it all and ruin it at the end!

Home Massage, Anyone?

I remembered 2 years ago, I went to Malaysia with my friends. We walked so much that I lost the feelings on my legs! As I was strolling along the mall, I saw a sales guy coming towards me. The usual "Nikki" instinct would give out this apologetic smile and say "no thanks". But as I was looking at the product on his hand, I was so curious and drawn to it. Well, aside from the fact that I saw a massage chair as well. Who wouldn't want to sit on a massage chair for FREE?

Are we ready for Alien Porn?

Here's such a wonderful side angle... Sexy!

The button you see below that looks like a mouth is the ON/OFF button

Now he's shy, you're staring at his "butt" lol

This will be the exact moment I go:
"ooohh ahhh!"
(I did say PORN right?) lol

Askmewhats says ---

Pros
  • relaxes you
  • affordable
  • durable (I dropped it many times, it's still working lol)
  • comes in cool colors (baby pink, cool blue, mint green)
Cons
  • NONE for now, and for the past 2 years!
Overall

This battery operated Alien-like baby is perfect to be used on your back, your shoulders, your legs! It relaxes you in an instant, and the best thing, it's lightweight!

Tips
  • Use rechargeable batteries to save money
  • Do not use this longer than 15 minutes on each area
  • Do your loved ones a favor by massaging them with this! Who knows? They'll return you the favor! lol

Will I repurchase?

Yes! I actually repurchased 12 pcs of this!!!
Imagine the look on the sales lady?
And I would love to see the looks on your faces! LOL

Let me explain, both me and my hubby love this so much that we repurchased these as wedding favors for our godparents! :) We love something that would be useful and would remind them of us!

Yes to my Philippine readers, they are not only sold in Malaysia, I am happy to announce I've seen them at the Rustan's Malls. And the best part? It's less than Php1,000!! (approx $25.00)

Are you looking for a nice gift for your friends, family
who are always complaining about their back pains?
Leg pains? Headache? Or whatever ache???
Except Heartaches though LOL
This may be something to help ease their mini pains everyday!!!

And before I end this post, let me leave you something to smile or even laugh about :P
