Eureka Moment: MAC Foundation Pump

Dear Readers:

Are you a MAC Studio Fix Liquid Foundation user?

Don't you just hate the bottle? I mean packaging is simple and great but pouring out the foundation is messy and you waste a lot of product at times with spillage!

While searching the MAC Site, I've came across with a PUMP for the Stuidio Fix Liquid Foundation!!! Yes there is such thing! LOL

I went to MAC store here in Glorietta, Shangri-La and also at SM Mall of Asia Marionaud, I was told the same thing, it was free together with MAC SF Liquid foundation in the past but it isn't available for a year now!!!!

BUMMER!!!

But your dear Askmewhats doesn't stop from there, what do I do??? Ask a dear friend who own's an online shop called Makeup Mix Shop, and yes, the shop is owned by the lovely Toma who became a dear friend to me. She immediately purchased them and put it up on her site at a very reasonable price! I have to admit, I clicked BUY at once! LOL

She also purchased a couple to put up on her site for international readers like I am who does not have access to US products. So head on to her site if you plan to purchase one for your dear MAC liquid foundation. It will make a huge difference as you can control the amount of liquid foundation you put on your face. Lesser product used = SAVINGS!!!

I can't wait!!! I purchased the MAC Foundation pump for USD5.00 and shipping costs USD4.95 for international shipping!

YAY!!!! I really can't wait!
Gosh, I can't believe a pump like this can make me happy!

Weekend Food Tripping at: Kaya Express

I am overwhelmed with such sweet words from my readers who joined my contest! I actually ask about the favorite post for the purpose of knowing what my readers like to read more from my blog in the next years! But you gals are too sweet and added a lot of "sugar" on the comments!!! Now my head is too big I have to carry it with my 2 hands! LMAO

Well, my head can grow bigger still! I can still manage! lol So please do not forget to join my "Askmewhats Turning a Year Soon" Contest!!!

It is weekend food tripping, a lot of the readers' favorite because at the end of the post, they have the reason to blame me for wanting to eat but in truth, they just want to eat! hahaha How dare you ladies??? hahaha Well I take the blame!!! I love food photos too!!!!

I love food, and I don't care if it's cheap food as long as it's clean and it tastes good! There's a restaurant that I don't go because of a bad "BIBIMBOP" experience. I'm glad I gave them a second chance because they do serve something good!!!

Here's the cheapest set meal located inside a mall that I've tried and worth letting you gals know :)

PHP125.00 (approx $2.60)
for a bowl of rice with toppings, soup and ice tea

If you have huge appetite, you can order 2 sets! LOL

KAYA EXPRESS

Like I said, I don't like my first visit here because their bibimbop is too small and the taste isn't impressive at all. I've tried their Korean noodles too and it didn't impress me as well. I'm glad I took a closer look at their menu and at the last page, they do offer set meals for a cheaper price (yup the rest of the menu are a bit pricey for the amount of food they serve).

They serve Bulgogi meal (available in Chicken, Pork, Beef and Seafood). I ordered Pork Bulgogi and Keith's in Beef or vice versa! I don't care, we share! hahaha

What you get?
Here's the BEEF Bulgogi set meal

Half bowl full of rice, with 2 slices of Egg, Kimchi, Bean Sprouts, Mini Shrimps and of course! The Beef.
And here's the PORK Bulgogi

Half bowl full of rice, with 2 slices of Egg, Kimchi, Bean Sprouts, Mini Shrimps and of course! PORK!

They are accompanied with a clear soup
Yes this free soup doesn't taste like socks like other free soup!!!
Did I say socks??? Now everybody know I drink SOCK SOUP! hahahahha

And a mini ice tea!!!
Look how small it is! LOL
But you can go for an upgrade if you pay an extra Php17.00 (less than $.50)

So for the 2 of us!
We spent only Php250.00 (approx $5.25)
No service charge! Love it!

Kaya Express is located at Robinson's Place Ermita
Ground floor next to Gloria Jean's Coffee

Have a great week!
I am looking forward for the Chinese New Years Holiday!
Can't wait for a week off!
But I ain't going anywhere :(
Hubby has to work!
Stay happy!

Askmewhats Reviews: Eyeko Fat Balm

I've got the chance to try on my first EYEKO product from a super nice reader Joyce.
Thank you.
I've finally had a chance to review on it after testing it for quite some time! I hope this helps out to readers who plan to purchase one.

Eyeko Fat Balm A Touch of Iridiscent Pink

Eyeko Fat Balm says ---

Berry-liscious tints with light reflecting particles and added moisture for softer, sexier lips. Smooth on to cheeks too for a fruity flush. Available in 3 sheer shades.

Strawberry Fat Balm - natural lip color
Raspberry Fat Balm - just bitten shade
A Touch of Iridiscent Pink

Askmewhats says ---

Pros
  • has a nice minty feeling
  • moisturize at the same time gives out a lovely tint on the lips
  • very affordable
  • cute packaging
  • easy to tote along
Cons
  • packaging can be a pro and con, yes it's cute but mine came off when I was twisting it :(

  • if you're into "a lot of product", this fat balm is a bit short, less than an inch, it doesn't bother me as I find it hard to finish up fat balms like this! (Take a look at photo below for full balm size)

  • if you're not into nude lips: Not for you, as this comes off a bit pale on the lips (choose Raspberry or Strawberry if you're into hint of colors)
  • if you're not careful in application, the balm sits on the lines of your lips, which ain't cool (see prevention on the tips area)
as you can see, ugly lines appear even if you top it with gloss
IF you are not careful with application

Overall

A cheaper way to own a lip and cheek tint! I love how cute the packaging is and how pretty the Touch of Irisdiscent Pink is. If I wanted a nude lip, I just apply this all over my lips and top it with a gloss.

I am actually using this to conceal imperfections on my lips like discoloration before I put on a lipstick color. Works really pretty!

Overall, I have a feeling that I would enjoy the other colors rather than this, as I've done research myself and read that the Touch of Iridiscent Pink creates lines on lips as compared to others, I've also read that this balm is drier too! I may need to do an order from Eyeko and see how the other colors go.

Tips
  • to prevent the balm from sitting on the lips and make you look uncool, after applying this directly on your lips, use your finger to warm the product and rub it against your lips, nicer finish (as seen on photo below)
  • if your lips are super dry, top it with a lip gloss to create a shiny nude look
Will I repurchase?

Yes, in other shade.

Where can you purchase and how much?

At Eyeko website for approx $8.00 (approx Php384.00).
Enter code E149 for a free gift. Free shipping worldwide!

How it looks like swatched 2x on hand
Pale pink sheen

Here's how it looks like on my lips

Without Gloss
(prettier if you rub it with your fingers)

And here's with gloss,
I love it with gloss as my lips are dry

Here's a photo of how I applied it on my face

Final Effect
I prefer using the Eyeko 5-in-1 Eyeshadow Cake

as it's easier to apply and the effect is almost the same

Products used on this half face shot ---

The Body Shop Mineral Foundation no. 02
Arezia Blush no. 1
Eyeko Fat Balm (on face and lips)

Do you own the other shades?
Let me know how you like it!
What would work for me...
Strawberry? Or Raspberry?
Hmmm...
Stay Happy!!!

Askmewhats Version: "Truffle" Look

Happy weekend beauties!
Tee hee...
What can I say? I played with make-up once again!
The Neutral lover does another neutral look with a bit of twist!
To those who wonder about the effect of the Coastal Scents Truffle Gel Liner...
Well this look is dedicated and inspired by this gel liner! :)

I've always wanted to create a thick line, but using black makes my eye really strong and would probably look great on night look. Since I got the CS Truffle Gel Liner, I can go for thick line anytime of the day! And a quick feedback, the first time I've done the thick line, my colleague Phia asked me if I wore any contacts as the color of my eye looks different! It's definitely the effect of this liner! Weee.... Contacts without contacts *winks*

Here's the final look
(warning: It could bore you to death lol)

If you can see closely, on the line itself, there's some glitters, I actually top it with NYX Glitter liner in Silver
(it's more glittery in person)

Askmewhats Diagram time!

1. Using an eyeshadow brush from Smashbox, pat on the gold e/s color from Prestige Quad.

2. Using a denser shadow brush, pat on any medium brown colored eyeshadow on the crease area. I used Stage e/s Mono in Macchiato (thanks Syen and Kahani for this)

3. Apply CS Gel Liner in Truffle using my Smashbox liner brush, (or any brush you're comfortable with), apply as thick as you want.

Optional: Apply NYX glitter liner in silver on top of the truffle

4. Highlight your brow bone with any light e/s, in my case, I've used Eyeko Pretty Eyes in white (Use Code E149 for Free Gift!!!)

And here's the final eye look! :)

Products used on the rest of the face ----

  • The Body Shop Nature's Mineral Foundation in Shade 2
  • MAC Shadester to contour
  • Arezia blush no. 4

  • Paul & Joe Curly Mascara in Brown (02)
  • Eyeko Fat Balm top with Artdeco gloss
  • Eyeko Pretty eyes to highlight the face

------------------------------------------------

Another surprise when I got home! A Christmas gift from The Body Shop USA
I checked on their site and it's called the Seasonal Body Butter Bonanza
I currently own an Aqua Lily Treasure Box and I just realized my TBS skin care is growing!

Thanks for reading! :)
Don't forget to stay happy and you'll be happy!
God bless!
