AMW Reports: CK Free Press Launch

CK Scents has always been an integral part in my Scent-history!  I've used the worldwide famous CK One that moved on to CK Be both are Unisex fragrances!  Then comes a new fragrance that recently launched and this time, it is for the special "men" in our lives!

CKFREE for Men speaks Casual, Spontaneous and Confidence!

CKFree, inspired by the spirit of the modern, independent man who lives everyday to the fullest, he has nothing to prove, he's cool, relaxed and free-sprited!  He does what he wants and is in control of his own destiny!  Sounds like my own "Man"!

The event was held at BMW Autohaus Libis and it was graced with lovely looking people confident enough to strut around with the new CK fragrance.

And of course, there's me, "trying" to look as confident as ever holding the "I am Free to Be Fabulous" board.  Of course there's always going to be a smiley face!

It was such a nice event and I enjoyed how intimate the gathering is and it was great to see a friend after years!  Vianca Tan for Shiseido, you look fabulous!  It was great seeing you!

The  event is filled with beautiful and confident faces, what caught my attention even more?  The new BMW Z4 Roadster!!! *sigh*

Now let's check that "sexy back"
I hear ya Justin Timberlake!

Thanks Ms. Ella Reyes, Sr. Product Manager for Coty Fragrances, for inviting me to this event!  Thanks to the lovely people of LuxAsia for being such a great host!

Something New: The Skin Specialist Clinic

To those girls out there who loves going to facials or whatever facial treatments!  There's something new around the block!  There's a new professional dermatology services that won't bleed your paycheck dry with the opening of the Skin Specialist Clinic located in Timog, Quezon City!

The Skin Specialist Clinic is known to be a warm, relaxed and well-designed haven where you can experience personalized and professional skin care treatments.  It provides a wide range of modern, non-invasive skin services that can be customized based on patient's needs, and of course, I was told that rates are most reasonable (I will definitely check this out for everyone on this!)

I know my sister will definitely enjoy the facials but with a kid around, I'm sure she'll bail out on me!  But the good news is, there is a toddler room to assure moms undergoing treatments that their kids will be entertained and well taken care of!  So, she's got no more excuses!!!

Dr. Jean, the same dermatologist I got to know at the Rexona Event, and her team offer treatments and services which address various skin concerns such as acne scars, wrinkles, stretch marks, keloid, excessive sweating, freckles, varicose and spider veins, warts, pigmentation problems, cellulite, skin tags, syringoma, sebaceous hyperplasia and seborrheic kerotoses.

For more information please call 02-3748087, 02-4077210, and 02-7941317 or log on to www.drjeanskinspecialist.com.  The Skin Specialist Clinic is located at ESNA Bldg. #30 Timog Avenue, QC Philippines.

I have a confession to make, I am wary when it comes to people touching my skin!  I've had facials way back but it's always been with a certified dermatologist!  So here we go!  I'll probably check this place out together with my mom and sis within next month and will report to everyone on my experience! :)  Please pray my mom gets better by then!!!

I Wonder: "Your Favorite Blush Brush for the Natural Flush?"

Blush brush makes a huge difference in blush application!  Different blush texture needs different types of blush brush!  For work, I've always been a fan of a "naturally flush" look, a look that screams "In Love" kind of blushing!  There's one brush that I've been reaching out for the "romantic cheeks" look.  I've had this brush for more than a year!  Check out my review by smiling and clicking here!

My favorite Natural Blush Brush is Thevi Dome Blush Brush. It works because the brush hairs are firm yet not too stiff nor scratchy!  It picks up the right amount of pigment for the apples of my cheeks!  I've been religiously spritzing this with Brush Cleanser and deep cleanse this over weekend, it stays like the first time I had it!  No falling hairs, none scratchy and the fluff is still there!

Now, you tell me!
"What's your favorite blush brush

that gives out a natural blush look?"

AMW Revisits: Coastal Scents Bent liner Brush

I've reviewed Coastal Scents White Angled Liner Brush early this year!  I had this brush for more than 10 months and it's time for me to do a revisit.  It's not on a happy note...take a look at this...

And this was how the brush originally looked like

I still use it at the moment if I want to create a thicker line!  I am actually patient and tried to make this work and extend this life, but I have a feeling I will let this brush retire soon!  It doesn't hurt me much because this brush costs only $2.19!  Well of course, shipping isn't included but it's ok!  Nothing to lose sleep about!

Do you own a CS White Angled Liner Brush?
Is it still okay or do you also need to use a flat iron to iron the flyaways?

AMW Reviews: ELF Feather Proof Moisturizing Lipliner

Good morning everyone!!!  I want to thank you all for the wonderful comments and comforting words!  As expected Monday was a very tedious and tiring day but I survived it!  And I ended my day reading your lovely comments which puts a big smile on my face...seriously, you all are the best :)

I will review a product  that I snatched from dear friend Gracie, sis! thanks for this!  I'm glad to have the chance to try this product coz I won't purchase it down here because I'm not a lipliner person!  Glad to have tried this and glad to announce?  I've used this a couple of times, lip liners are useful actually on those days you feel your lips aren't defined enough! :)

**photo taken from ELF website

E.L.F. says ---

Velvety Pro Vitamin Complex color caresses lips with naturally long-lasting, never feathering,  hydrating pigments.  Formulated to be used with any E.L.F. lip care product.

Ingredients
Paraffinium Liquidum (Mineral Oil), Cera Carnauba (Carnauba) Wax, Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Synthetic Beeswax, Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Rhus Succedanea Cera(Rhus Succedanea Fruit Wax), Stearic Acid, Petrolatum, Euphorbia Cerifera (Candelilla) Wax, Isopropyl Myristate, Butylene/Ethylene Copolymer, Blue No.1 Lake (CI 42090) ,Red No.28 Lake (CI 45410), Red No.40 Lake (CI 16035), Red No.6 Lake (CI 15850), Yellow No.5 Lake (CI 19140)

AMW says ---

Pros
  • inexpensive
  • very pigmented
  • staying power is good
  • the liner isn't too soft nor too hard, just right!

Cons
  • has a tiny hint of "crayon" scent
  • not "hydrating", it actually felt dry on my lips just like regular lip liners
  • can I add, DRY again? lol
Overall

If you are looking for a lip liner that's inexpensive and works, go for this!  I have a MAC lip liner and the texture is different compared to MAC but the difference isn't too far. Lip liners are just lip liners, I don't always use lip liners anyways!  This is a good inexpensive lipliner to try... PERIOD! :)

Tips
from ELF
Proper lip lining application should be performed prior to adding gloss or lipsticks.  Gently shade upper and lower lip back and forth until color intensity is desired.  Fill in entire top and bottom lips with pencil.  Apply second coat if desired.

from AMW
  • if you have super dry lips like mine, moisturize your lips prior to lipstick application, press your lips over a  tissue paper to remove the "oil" and start applying the lip liner
  • top over with your lipstick to create a nice base for the lipstick to last longer
Will I repurchase?
Yes!

Where to purchase and how much?
At local ELF counters for approximately Php125.00 (approx $2.70) and $1.00 for international<-- thanks Khymm for letting me know the price!

Here are the 2 close up shots of the lip liner
Spice is more on the brownish shade
closer to my natural lip color

Bitter is more on the dark red side

Swatch on hand

On lips, see how dry my lips are?
No lip balm, no top coat

Do you own an ELF Lip Liner?
What shade?  How do you find it?
Like it? Like to Toss it?
