Weekend Food Tripping at: Spicy Fingers Bar & Restaurant + Red Mango

When I dine in a restaurant, I make sure to order what I crave for right there and then!  My cravings will never be over the top!  I have cheap tongue you know :)  A regular fast food like KFC or Jollibee would make me happy!

I don't know why we ended up at Greenbelt over the weekend, going out definitely means dining out.  A cute sign called "Spicy Fingers" caught my attention. The first thing that crossed my mind is "Spicy Chicken Fingers, and I love chicken fingers.  That's a good start!

After checking the menu, we've decided to give this restaurant a try!

As we sat at the window area with romantic candle, we've finally decided to order what we crave for.  I  crave for pasta and the Keith craved for main dish!

Penne Al Arabiata
Php320.00 (approx $7.00)
Sauteed pasta with smoked bacon, Hungarian sausage, chilies and tomatoes

Served with buttered bread sprinkled with pesto.  The serving is just right and the taste?  I would say it tastes just like regular Al Arabiata, nothing outstanding!

Baked Stuffed Chicken Breast
Php400.00 (approx $8.70)
Chicken breast stuffed with spinach, and mushroom Bechamel Sauce

This tastes good, again, nothing over the top but good.  I love the mashed potato and the Bechamel Sauce goes very well with the potatoes.  It would be great though if the restaurant offer choice of rice or mashed potatoes.  Keith would definitely go for rice!  Serving is a bit small, the breast part is not huge as compared to its price!

Twining's Camomile Tea
Php70.00 (approx $1.50)

I am in the mood of warm tea and this one?  Well, who can go wrong with Twining's?

Spicy Fingers, I can't really tell if it's a great restaurant or not as we only tried 2 of their dishes!  We may have to go back again to try their nachos, spicy Chicken fingers and Pad Thai, I heard they are great.  Be ready to pay an additional service charge.  The restaurant accepts both cash and credit card!

Spicy Fingers Bar and Restaurant
Greenbelt 2
Ayala Center, Makati
Tel no: 632-489-0085

Before I end this post, let me share to you what I've been going gaga for the past weeks!  I am in love with Red Mango's Frozen Yoghurt!  I like my yoghurt plain! Ooooohh, I want one right now!!!!

Red Mango Plain Frozen Yoghurt
Medium size: Php115.00 (approx $2.50)

Yes darling, I can finish this all by myself!

Enjoy your weekend food tripping!
Treat yourself so you're ready to face the coming week!

I Wonder: "Does Scent Turns You Off?"

The most recent Burt's Bees product I've finished up is the Burt's Bees Lifeguard's Choice Lip Balm, I don't like it much as its drying,  it enhances my dry lips and it leaves a white color on my lips which made me look sick! But I can't deny the fact that I love the minty feel of Burt's Bees lip balms, I like how it makes my dry lips feel a bit better on a very bad lip day!

My favorite Burt's Bees lip balm is the first one I've purchased, the Burt's Bees Beeswax Lip Balm with Vitamin E & Peppermint.  It's the best I've tried out of all the Burt's Bees lip products I've purchased!

When my dear beauty products supplier brother came back for a visit a couple of months ago, he gifted me  Burt's Bees Honey Lip Balm which he bought from Canada!  Just in time as I just finished up the last Burt's Bees balm.

As soon as I open the cap and sniffed it... I nearly fainted.... not in a good way :(

AMW Reviews: Something About Marilyn Retractable Kabuki

My first retractable kabuki brush was a very scratchy one, it bleeds and sheds like crazy and seriously smells like a horse's bum! *laughs*  It came with a high price tag as it was one of the super few retractable kabuki brush available in the market at that time.  Law of Supply & Demand, could be devilish at times!

Years after, a lot of companies are coming up with the retractable brushes. Purchase after purchase, reviews after reviews, I find it gets tougher companies are coming up with better and even more gorgeous brushes to please our eyes! And one company, obviously knew what we want!  They've created a really cute Retractable Kabuki Brush worth giving a second look (or even third...fourth..or fifth...)

Sigma's Something About Marilyn
Retractable Kabuki Brush

Sigma Hollywood Glamour Kabuki Brush says ---
Get some Hollywood Glamour! The Sigma Makeup retractable kabuki is the easiest way to apply powder products such as blush, bronzer, foundation, and highlighter on-the-go. Practical and classy, the Hollywood Glamour collection is a must!

Also Available in:
(both photos grabbed from Sigma website)

Pink (Princess Grace)

Black (Breakfast with Audrey)

AMW says ---

Pros
  • such cute concept!  Who would have thought to use Princess Grace Kelly, Marilyn Monroe and Audrey Hepburn as inspiration
  • eye candy!
  • comes in 3 colors!  Not all kabuki brushes have colors to choose from
  • extremely soft bristles and not scratchy at all
  • made of synthetic bristles so it's soft no matter how many times you wash it
  • very dense yet the bristles moves freely, so going around hard-to-reach areas is very easy
  • no bleeding or shedding, washed this more than 3 times since I got this!
  • size is just right to tote around

  • multi-functional: for powder/mineral foundation, setting powders, beauty powders or even blush!
  • packaged really well, comes with a very nice hard carton box with phrase from the famous Marilyn. "I don't want to make money, I just want to be wonderful"
  • not too pricey for such quality
  • shipping rate isn't too much
  • perfect to be sent as gifts!
Cons
  • do you live outside of the US?  The waiting time may make you impatient, has the possibility to get lost during shipping
  • typical retractable brushes concern, takes longer time to dry!
Overall
If you live in the US, there's no reason not to purchase this brush!  This comes in three colors,  so no excuse in saying "The Color is Not me!".  I love the "Hollywood Glamour" theme they added that made the brush even more appealing!  The way it was packaged, you can see that the company definitely took all the time and effort to make buyers feel special and spoiled!
If you live outside the US, there will definitely be reasons NOT to purchase this brush, the long waiting time, the unprofessional postal offices (PO's) some countries may have.  And the fact that there are so many local sellers who sell cute retractable k-brushes at a very affordable price.

Personally?  I wouldn't mind the long wait, I wouldn't mind the extra shipping charge.  This brush  alone speaks for itself.  Very unique and it separates itself from all the retractable k-brushes available out there!  And the best part about this, aside from it being aesthetically gorgeous, it functions and performs really well!  I love how easy I buff my mineral foundation in the morning without the scratchy feel and I like the fact that I don't need to bring a separate blush brush to do my blush retouch midday!

Tips
  • do not close the cap of this k-brush while the bristles are still wet, make sure the bristles are completely dry
  • wash your k-brush regularly, never think that it is clean because the bristles are covered!
  • lay the brush flat on a towel and let dry, never let it stand to prevent water from getting into the glue thus destroying the brush
  • never blow dry the bristles to quicken the drying time
  • you want to send gifts to your friends outside the country and no time to go to your local postal offices?  Purchase this online and send this to your friends as gift!  Any makeup enthusiast would love to own this brush!
Will I repurchase?
Yes, as gift! Not anymore for personal, judging the way I take care of my brushes, I think this one will last me years! :)  I'll definitely report back if this failed me!

Where to purchase and how much?
At Sigma website for $25.00 (approx Php1,150)
Shipping to the Philippines costs $5.60 (approx Php258.00)
Total amount is $30.60 (approx Php1,408)

It's party time! :)

Nail Art Tutorial: Fruit Salad Nails

Happy Thursday gorgeous people!  I know a lot of local readers are jumping for joy as it's Thursday!  Because....after a long weekend holiday last week, tomorrow is another National Holiday!  To the rest of the world?  No worries, Friday is just one sleep away!  My weekend will be very busy, nothing much to say but it covers me doing what I love...prettifying people!  So excited!

I am being good as I've done nail art tutorial once a week!  Oooohhh give me a pat on my shoulder!  :D  Thank you!  I've been a bit in a mood to use my Fimo clay.  I have reader request asking me to create Fimo nails, but the thing is...I've purchased my Fimo Clay on stick so we have to cut it on our own, and...I got lazy in slicing them so bear with me if I use the same Fimo Fruits that Keith sliced!  :)

Since my nails are fruity, I created a Fruit Salad Nails!  I hope you like it!
