AMW Reviews: Charm Luxe Mini Kabuki

I've always thought my love for K-brushes have died down!  But one day...when THIS....

(Note from AMW: This brush can still be revived,
I just needed to shake my lazy bum and glue this back!)

...happened!  My favorite Ecotools K-brush committed a suicide!  I swear I don't know how it happened!  I am crushed!  I've been using this on days I wanted light to medium coverage and I don't want to purchase another set of Ecotools  Mineral Brush Set just to replace the ruined K-brush, so I looked for an alternative that won't cost me much!  The Beauty Angel up there works in mysterious way, I win some, I lose some... and then I win some again!  The wheel of life!...

Charm Luxe Mini Kabuki says ---
This is the even more travel-friendly and space-saving version of the Charm Luxe Kabuki Brush, which is perfect inside your clutch bag, or any smaller bag! You never have to skip bringing retouch tools, as the Charm Mini Kabuki Brush, is small, but terrible. It might be small, but it is dense enough to pack on foundation, blush, and finishing powder! You never have to struggle for space with this little wonder!

AMW says ---
Pros
  • it's tiny and it's pink!  So adorable!
  • very soft

  • no bleeding nor shedding from the time I've used this until this very moment!
  • very easy to tote along due to its size
  • pouch can house the mini k-brush, and 2 sample jars of mineral makeup
  • funny thing, but re-touching will never be obvious due to its cute size, you can literally hide this brush with one hand!
  • does pick up foundation pigments without issues
  • multi-functional: this brush can also be used as a blush brush
  • inexpensive!  I was surprised with the price tag!  You get a free cute pink pouch and this wonderful mini k-brush for only Php300.00 (approx $6.80)!
  • dries up easily after wash
  • since this is made of synthetic hair, foundation and blush pigments does not "dye" the color of the brush
Cons
  • NONE
Overall
I always prefer the larger k-brushes for overall foundation application, but when my Ecotools K-brush gave up on me (though I can easily glue it back if only I'm not too lazy), I found myself using this as the best alternative.  It never sheds and it never have this scratchy feel that most natural hair has!  This brush is made of synthetic hair but its dense enough to have full control during foundation application! This brush gave me the best of both synthetic and natural hair's world!

Tips
  • wash after purchase with a baby shampoo mixed with moisturizing dish washing liquid
  • let it dry on its own laying flat on a towel, never add heat!
  • if you have a Brush Guard, use one to prevent future fly-away.
  • used as blush brush: gently apply a tiny amount of blush on the apples of your cheeks and buff with circular motion for that nice and natural "flush"
  • mix your loose powder foundation with a bit of "highlighting" powder, swipe it together and buff onto your face for that natural glow!

Will I repurchase?
I hope I don't need to!  This one looks like its going to last long!

To whom do I recommend this for?
Anyone who's a powder foundation user (pressed or loose).  This brush gives out a nice, natural coverage and additional buffing will yield heavier coverage!  Easy to tote along especially during travel!

Where to purchase and how much?
At Beauty & Minerals website for Php300.00 (approx $6.80), comes with free pink pouch!

Such a nice photo of "Mom and Daughter" tandem!

The Charm Luxe Mini Kabuki on the palm of my hand!
Reminder: My fingers are short!  So imagine how cute and tiny this is!
Height: 2 inches including the handle!

Do you own a brush as cute and tiny as this one?
This is by far, one of the tiniest K-brush I own --- to date!

Readers' Corner: "What's My Hair Color?"

After seeing my photos of my sexy back!  *laughs*  Hair, I mean the hair ok?  A lot of my readers have been asking me where I had it done or what shade was it!

Here's the thing about my hair color!  *rewind sound*

My hair has always been boring!  When you read my previous post on rebonding in China, it was also in China that I had my first hair color!  I guess it has to do with boredom and missing the family and hanging with my hair salon friends too much!  I've said yes to a couple of hair treatments that was offered to me by the hair salon just right next to my apartment!  No wonder they love me dearly and gave me a free membership card!  Damn it woman!  I just can't say "no"!  *laughs*

Anyways, the first hair color that was professionally done to my then "virgin" hair was reddish!  It's not the scary reddish color, it's actually nice because my hair looks dark and black on regular lighting but fire-y red under the sun! When I got back home, I can't keep up with the "reddish" hair so I had to do something about it!  I'm not the type who would go to a salon to spend much for a hair color, so my best and most inexpensive alternative is to purchase my own "at home color care treatment".  My first was from L'Oreal Feria line! The shade?  Has to do with "something BROWN" or "BROWN something" --- Beats me!  I can't remember! hahaha

Since then, I've had occasional salon color treatments but most of the time, it was done at home.  And my most recent hair color was from a different brand which I also love --- Revlon ColorSilk Beautiful Color.  I purchased this because the shades available are mostly natural looking and they have a lot of range of browns!

For those who are intrigued, my recent hair color is from a box.....

Light Golden Brown no. 54

The box includes ---
  • application instructions
  • plastic gloves
  • Ammonia-free colorant
  • Cream Color Developer
  • Nourishing After Color Conditioner

This costs around Php350++ (approx $8.00) but I purchased mine at The Duty Free Philippines with the Peso Power rate of Php40.00 for $6.50 (Php260.00) so I stocked up!  2 boxes! :) I wanted to purchase more but hey, I've only got one head and one set of hair!  *laughs*  Let's not be greedy! :P  For now, Light Golden Brown is love! :)

Revlon 54 Light Golden Brown
color treatment done around June 2010
So it has been almost 4 months, I guess it's time to re-color!

What's your current hair color?
I may sound like an adventurous one but I've always been on the safe "brown" side!

AMW Reviews: Purederm Intensive Repair Foot Mask

I am a sandals-wearer, that means, my feet are exposed to dust, pollution, air and stress at all times!   The most care I've done for my feet is definitely not a third of what I've been doing for my hair!  On random days, when I'm not too lazy or sleepy, I would apply foot lotion and wear socks before I go to sleep!  On most days?  I just wear socks and doze off in la-la-land!

Poor feet.... *inserts sad face*

I was sent an Intensive Repair Foot  Mask made by Purederm for trial, I have to admit, no matter how easy the instructions look, it took me awhile to use this!  Man!  I think I need walking foot masks that forcefully strap themselves to my feet!!! *unique yet scary thought*

After my 2 hours Dollface Makeup Workshop, I told myself I needed the food pampering it deserves!  And finally, I made it!  I've done it!

Purederm Intensive Repair Foot Mask says ---
With highly emollient Shea Butter, Rich Avocado Oil, Camilia Japonica Oil, Opuntia Tuna Extract and other natural healing ingredients.  Purederm Botanical Choice Intensive Repair Foot Mask Avocado noticeably smoothes, softens and repairs dry, cracked, calloused feet and heels.  Significantly improving the look and feel of even the driest feet.  This newly designed "sheet type" foot mask delivers effective moisturizers and healing agents to your damaged skin for smoother, healthier and more radiant appearance.

AMW says ---
Pros
  • inexpensive
  • sheet type mask is durable and can fit size 5-9 feet!
  • sheet is really wet and moisturizing when gotten out of the packaging
  • packaging is eye-catchy!
  • smells really good!  Not overwhelming
  • has 2 natural products included that's really known for its moisturizing properties --- Avocado Extract and Shea Butter!
  • the rough areas on the feet are softened and moisturized after 20 minutes!
  • the softness feel is there even a couple of days after!
  • because it gives out a moisturized, radiant look, feet looks clean and fairer.
  • very convenient to use!  Has everything you needed to relax your tired feet
  • smart product!  Comes with as simple as "tape" which is very vital in the foot repair process!
  • because of the plastic mask that's used after the sheet mask, it keeps the moisture locked inside your feet even after 20-30 minutes of usage

Cons
  • if you are expecting the cracks on the heel area to be completely gone, well, you'll be disappointed, this is not a miracle foot mask!
  • constant usage is needed to see best results, to lazy bums out there?  This is definitely a con for them!
Overall
I am a bit wary the first time I saw this product, I thought its going to be messy, which explains why I have a huge "Power Puff Girls" towel below my feet!  It is the smartest innovation ever for Foot Masks!  It's mess free and best of all?  It works!  In just one use, I can feel the softness of my feet even after bathing!

Tips
from Purederm
  • Wash hands with warm water.
  • Open package and put the cream on feet.
  • Wear the foot gloves.
  • Leave on for 20 - 30 minutes before removing gloves and masks. No additional washing is required.
from AMW

  • make sure your feet is clean, must better to be cleansed with warm water
  • after doing this Intensive Repair Foot Mask, wear a cotton socks to further lock in moisture
  • if you have severe cracked heels and sometimes, has a bit of bleeding, make sure to have it checked by a doctor, do not be a "Doctor Quack Quack" ok?
  • when you choose to do the Intensive Repair Foot Mask, its also the best time to use your preferred facial masks for total relaxation.
  • try to raise your legs on top of pillows for further blood circulation!
  • do not sleep with these foot masks on!  Remove them prior to sleeping!
  • after removal of the sheet masks, gently massage the remaining product, concentrating on the rough areas of your feet
  • please follow instructions at the back, do not exceed the maximum length of time stated.
  • if itchiness or allergic reactions occur, remove product IMMEDIATELY!
Will I repurchase?
Definitely will!

To whom shall I recommend this for?
People with dry feet but not the type with opened wound!  Do not use this product if you have cracked and bleeding heels.

Where to purchase and how much?
At Watson's for Php79.75 (less than $2.00) for 1 pair.

Here's a step-by-step photo guide on how AMW did her
Purederm Intensive Repair Foot Mask

Step 1: Tear off the upper part of the packaging which includes a pair of sheet masks for your footsies!
Step 2: Gently wear it on both feet!  There's no left and right!  So no worries!  There will be a bit of moisture dripping so feel free to gently massage them on the rest of your legs!  Hey, its still Avocado Extract and Shea Butter!
Step 3: Tear off the lower portion of the packaging to pull out the plastic masks.
Step 4: Gently wrap them on top of the sheet masks.
Step 5: Tape the plastic sheet masks to keep it from falling!  To lock in moisture as well!
Step 6: I chose to wear cotton socks because it's more comfortable that way!

Sit back, raise your legs and relax!
Here's an after photo after 30 minutes of Foot Mask and Smiling Me!

Before I end this post!  Let me show you that this is the sexiest part of my body!  *lol*  Ahem!  Thanks to my mom and dad for my sexy, curvacious....FEET!  If only I can transfer this to my waist area? *hahahahaha*

I know I know!  I'm exposing too much!  Let's get back to business and my question for you is....
Do you have time to give your sexy feet the time and relaxation it deserves?
Now, do I hear "Footloose?" (oh man!  my generation is showing up in this blog!)

Keep smilin'
Stay happy!

Weekend Food tripping at: Max's Restaurant

Note from Author: Sorry againf or blurry food photos, taken using Samsung Mobile Phone camera.

When it comes to Chicken, I am an expert eater!  I know the right restaurants to go for the best tasting chicken!  No wonder I got chicken allergies from eating so much chicken meat!  I have to apologize to all Max's Chicken lovers out there, I am not a fan of their chicken!  My mom loves to dine in this restaurant and when we go out to eat, I always prioritize what she loves and put aside what I want!

The waitress gave me the menu and boy was I happy to see a lot of dishes added!  Non-chicken dish that looks delicious just on photos!  Thank you Max for offering these!

Veggie Lumpia Bites
Php84.00 (approx $2.00)
It tastes a bit bland!  Instead of dipping this on the mayonnaise served,
I asked for vinegar and it tastes much better!

Bangus Meal
Php162.00 (approx $3.68)
My dad loves crispy bangus!  It's boneless by the way so easy to eat!
Served with 2 servings of eggs with drinks

Tapa Meal
Php162.00 (approx $3.68)
I am not fond of oily tapa!  With this one, I love how meaty the beef is and even without vinegar
the beef tapa is so tasty and obviously cured for quite sometime!

Clubhouse
Php121.00 (approx $2.75)

You can't go wrong when you order Clubhouse sandwich!
Dad loves this so much he had 2!
I shared with my brother!  Love the chips!

Fried Lumpia Ubod*
Php52.00 (approx $1.20)
Not a fan of lumpiang ubod, I prefer vegetable lumpia!
My brother down on this crispy lumpia after a full meal!
Gosh! He does have bottomless pits! LOL
*Ubod is a kind of vegetable extensively used by the people from Visayas in cooking. A local delicacy I must say!

Fresh Lumpia Ubod
Php52.00 (approx $1.20)
Still not a fan of anything with UBOD.
My mom love this so I ordered this for her.
Served with Peanut sauce!

Dining at Max's Restaurant isn't that expensive at all, no wonder they're always packed with customers!  Orders are freshly cooked and you have to wait for a couple of minutes before food is served.  Definitely not a fastfood so don't go in there hungry!

Bill can be paid cash or credit card.  Service charge is included on the bill!

Remember my Lorys Hair Cream Contest?  A lot of you joined and wanted to try the hair cream due to various reasons of hair problems!  I got an email from our good friends from Lorys.

Buy 1 Lorys and Get the 2nd Lorys at 50% off"! "

Oh yeah, the 2 hours Dollface Makeup Seminar was a huge success, here's a 'sorta' class picture!  I had to get up on a chair to be seen! *laughs*  Thanks Pearl and ladies for the trust and fun!

Happy weekend food tripping and shopping!
