Nail Art News: Angry Birds Part 2 shown at Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho

Remember my Angry Birds Nail Art Tutorial?  (click HERE for the link)

I guess I was searched by the Researcher of Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho as I was contacted to feature my Angry Birds Nail Art on it's Angry Birds Video Game Craze Segment for July 2, 2011 Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho episode.

I still have my Jolly Bee nails on and I was asked to redo my Angry Birds nail art design all  over again just for the show!  It wasn't easy as I got home super light the night before but I was able to do it!  Thank God for training me to sleep late! *hehehe*

Here's a screen shot of the short clip by the way!  Surprisingly, I wasn't that nervous "showing off" my childish art  :P

A closer look, that's the best screen shot I can get as I was wiggling my fingers as advised by the Segment Producer.

**Both screen shots taken from YouTube Channel of DCRJPhilippines's.

Here's a closer look on my Angry Birds Nail Art Part 2.  I actually tweaked the design a bit!  The placing of the characters are still the same But I've shown some heads and hair of the birds.  For the pigs, I've added eyebrows, and some -- helmet!

Let's check out our favorite Red Angry Bird getting its revenge to the scared pig!

I want to thank Romabell, Segment Producer for Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho and 2 cameramen for making me feel comfortable!  It's difficult to re-do my nail art design in front of the camera but I survived!  (Thanking Mags and Shanna for the vote of confidence too).

Oh, I will share nail related "happiness" which I got to include in my nail addiction collection!  Paul & Joe Nail Enamel in Bright Red and 2 cute Nail Files.  I don't even know if I'll have the heart to use it!

Have a gorgeous Monday ahead!
I want to thank everyone who watched the short segment and congratulated me on it! THANK YOU!

Weekend Food Tripping at: King Chef Fine Dining

Abigail Ang invited me to experience a Grand Launching of King Chef's Fine Dining Restaurant.  The invitation wrote "Imperial Feast" to be exact!  It was a rainy Thursday evening but when I got in the restaurant, the place was packed with a lot of excited guests who are the friends of the owners, media people and of course Bloggers! :)

I blogged about my first King Chef experience HERE and it was that night that I come to realize that there are 3 different restaurants owned by the same group.  Cantonese Soup Kitchen, King Chef Dimsum Kitchen and a few steps away housed King Chef Fine Dining Restaurant!

AMW Gives: Nanny Rose's Sticks & Pulls Honey Wax --- CLOSED!

Happy Saturday!  It was a whirlwind Friday for me as everything was so hectic and I just didn't have time to just sit down, relax and breathe!  Well, I did for a minute when my 3 Pomeranian babies wanted my full attention!  They could get quite demanding and want me to rub their tummy in a certain way!

I will be off to  more tasks to do for the day and I'll be leaving you with a contest that I haven't posted for a month!

Amanda contacted me via email asking me if I want to review Nanny Rose's Sticks & Pulls, to those who aren't familiar with the brand.  It's an all natural hair remover in a form of honey wax and is made of only ingredients closest to nature.
The sticky pot is a combination of locally produced honey, sugar and calamansi juice - a conconction that will keep skin smooth, hydrated and will eve exfoliate dead skin cells.  It contains no harsh chemicals or ingredients that can cause allergies that is why it can be used on sensitive and delicate areas.

The product is all natural so you can feel good about it!  I was told that this is similar to the wax used by most waxing salons in the Metro!

Intriguing, interesting...but I declined the review because I am not a fan of waxing on my own!  I did not forget my readers though and asked if I can give these away instead!  Thanks to Nanny Rose's Sticks & Pulls for saying YES to my request.

3 AMW Readers can win a box of the All Natural hair remover!  I will throw in some more surprises so do not hesitate to join.  I do apologize though that this is for Philippine readers only.

Mechanics:
  • Click comment together with your name and email address.  (One comment per person, no duplicates please).
  • Answer this: "How do you remove unwanted hair?"
  • Contest starts today and will end on July 9, 2011 (11:59pm).
  • 3 Winners will be chosen via Fruit Machine.
I will email the 3 winners and will send the product to them directly via courier!
To those who can't wait, Nanny Rose's Sticks & Pulls is exclusively distributed by Watson's.

Goodluck!

AMW Reviews: KATE Gel Eye Liner

First of July!  Days passed by so quickly I am surprised it's already my mom's birthday month and she will be celebrating her 64th birthday soon!!! :)

I want to thank everyone who commented telling me they liked my AMW Version and Nail Art Tutorial for the week!  I have those 2 covered so let's get back to product reviews!

Gel Liners!  Of course I will be reviewing a gel liner!  I love gel liners!  Anyone who frequents my blog knew how much of a Gel Liner user I am! I raved about the Stila Smudgepots but I don't mind trying out different brands!  Who knows?  There can always be a better brand with better performance out there!

Read on for my review on KATE Gel Liner....

KATE Gel Eye Liner says ---
Eyeliner that offers the precision of liquid liner and the ease of a gel-based formula.
Manufactured by: Kanebo

AMW says ---
Pros
  • Cute tiny glass packaging similar to that of MAC and Bobbi Brown.
  • Smooth to apply.
  • Once applied on lids, it dries up pretty fast.
  • No smudging.
  • No eye irritations.
  • True Black shade that stays for the whole day!
  • Not difficult to remove with regular eye makeup remover or cleansing oil.
  • For people with SUPER oily lids, this smudges but not as much!
Cons
  • I remember seeing this online that comes with a brush, I wonder why this one isn't packaged with a free brush!
  • You may not finish this product at once thus the remaining 1/4 will probably be dry and difficult to apply.
  • Price is not that far with the Stila Smudge Pots but the size of this is smaller.  Stila is 4g, Kate is 2.5g
Overall
The quality is good!  Though the net weight is lesser as compared to my favorite Stila, it's still ok for me as I can't seem to finish the Stila Smudge Pots without it drying up on me!

Tips
  • Wash your eyeliner brush often.
  • Twist the cap tight to prevent product from drying.
  • Use an eyelid primer if you have very oily lids.
  • Go for the Matte Black or Matte Brown shades the ones with glitters doesn't last as long as the matte version.
  • Try not to open up your eyes right after application, leave it for approximately 15 seconds.
  • With the remaining gel liner on the brush, gently apply on the lower lashline to serve as "base" if you like putting eyeshadow on the said area.
Will I repurchase?
Yes!

To whom do I recommend this to?
Gel liner users!

Where to purchase and how much?
Local readers can purchase this at SM Beauty Section for Php660.00 (approx $15.70).  International readers can purchase this online.

Swatch on hand
You can create thin to thick lines

Here's how the KATE Gel Liner in BK-1 looks like
This photo was taken more than 10 hours after application
Everything is still intact

Have you found your favorite gel liner?
I keep this for myself and the Stila Smudge Pots for clients :)

Enjoy your Friday!
