AMW Reviews: Tony Moly Kiss Lover Lipstick in OR03

2 years ago, I've seen Tony Moly stores in Seoul, Korea and "almost" looked away as I've been very busy wandering around Etude House, Skin Food, The Face Shop and the "shebangs"!

Thank goodness I did not miss the chance to check out the stores and bought their nail polish remover!  Great job, Nikki!  Just when I get clueless about the brand and I started to play "safe", the safest bet would always be buying Nail Polish Removers!  :P *slaps forehead*

As the buzz was out that Tony Moly is arriving to our shores!  It's high time I check out the store again, this time, not just looking into their nail polish removers but deeper!  I visited their SM Manila branch last year and wow!  They do have a lot of makeup and skincare stuff that I can't believe I ignored!

Today, let me share to you the first Tony Moly cosmetic that I have tried!  Their Kiss Lover Lipstick!

 Shade is called OR03
OR would probably mean Orange
Judging by the shade on tube,
Guess what? --- I'm right! :P

Tony Moly Kiss Lover Lip Stick says ---
It makes lips glittering and moisturized.---High Shine Effect

Shades:

Content: 3.5g

AMW says ---
Pros
  • Though packaging is not as cute as the other Korean brands, I find the simple black packaging really professional to look at and the slimmer packaging is also a nice change.
  • Super nice, tiny hint of fruity scent.
  • Gives a nice, wash of color.  Very natural to look at.
  • Does not look dry on once applied on lips.
  • Can be applied even without lip balm underneath.
  • No chapped, wrinkly-looking lips.
Cons
  • Product details are in Korean, can't seem to find ingredients list if you are into reading labels.
  • If you are looking for very bright, pigmented orange kind of lipstick, this isn't for you.
Overall
I can't seem to pinpoint if this product can be called a lipstick or tinted lip balm!  I would say, it is in between!  It isn't as pigmented to be called a lipstick yet, it isn't as moisturized to be called a tinted lip balm!  Help me Lord as I seem to indecisive for the first time!  *laughs*

Tony Moly Kiss Lover Lipstick is one hell of a lipstick that may look "nothing" once applied, but once you step back, you have this gorgeous hint of shade and the best part?  It stays!  I even tried licking my lips a couple of times (not to be done at home..lol) and so far, the "hint of color" is surprisingly there! But keep in mind no lipstick can surpass eating!  Once I ate, it's gone so I need to reapply.

Tips
  • For product to stay longer on lips, apply without lip balm underneath or blot your lip balm or lip treatment with a napkin prior to lipstick application.
  • To enhance the color of the lipstick, match your lip color and your blush color.  (this is not a rule but just a suggestion :D)
  • Feel free to apply the Kiss Lover Lipstick on top of your favorite lipstick to create a nice "sheen".
  • It helps to wipe the tip of your lipstick every now and to prevent spoilage especially if you're the type who loves to re-apply lipstick in the middle of the day.
  • Best applied straight from tube to your lips. For this particular product, a lip brush isn't needed.
Will I repurchase?
Yes!

To whom do I recommend this to?
Anyone who likes to test using various shades from pinks, reds to oranges minus the shocked look on your friend's faces! :D

Where to purchase and how much?
At Tony Moly SM Malls for Php398.00 (approx $9.00).

A closer look of OR03 on Tube
Super bright Orange looking shade like candies

Applied multiple times on lips
without lip balm
Keep in mind that my lips are pigmented to start with
Lighter colored lips may have tiny bit brighter looking orange

Like I said, to make this color pop, I used a bright orange blush
together with my Tony Moly Kiss Lover Lipstick in OR03
for that Kiss worthy look even if it's not red or pink!

Sniff Me, Again!

Coach, in my heart, will always be a bag!  I can still remember the first Coach Bag that was gifted to me by my dear Aunt when she visited to attend my wedding, she gave me a leather Coach Bag which I kept and took care off until the very moment.

Who would've thought I would own something Coach and it's not even bag related?  Yes, my love for fragrance has, again, kicked in and my fragrance collection is growing!

I searched online and checked their ad...
Coach Poppy Flower Fragrance

So girly, So me!

PHP 3,700 available at Rustans
To be honest, the scent is not the usual floral ME but one whiff you would understand why I appreciate the scent!  It smells fun, quirky and happy!

"The notes are a blend of citrus, lychee and cassis blend with water lilly and jasmine petals in an airy scent."
Then the start of the year, I got a gift from a very good friend of mine Emily! :) She delivered it to my home and voila!  A perfect gift for Ms. AMW --- The Sniffer! :P

Tous L'eau de Parfum
For a perfume, what I like about the scent is the fact that it's not overwhelming and I can even use this on day time!

 SRP: 30ml PHP 2,200.00 | 50ml PHP 2,800.00 | 90ml PHP 3,600.00
"Tous L'eau de Parfum is a floral, woody, musky scent that was created by Nathalie Lorson.  The composition opens with notes of mandarin, lemon and floral accords.  The heart of freesia, jasmine, white peony and black currant is settle on the basis of white musk, patchouli and transparent amber."

No wonder, the combination is as unique as it smells and I do not own a similar scented fragrance like this!  Well, it doesn't hurt that the packaging has a cute tiny bear which both Mr. AMW and myself love!

And the gift came with a tiny sized Tous L'eau de toilette

I personally like the Parfum (pink) better than the Toilette (blue green) so the blue green bottle goes to Mr. AMW as he took one sniff and liked it! :)

Sorry, all inanimate objects turned animated once it enters into our home :)
That's the way it is! :P

What's your newest fragrance included in your SNIFF-ollection?

Weekend Food Tripping at: Masas

Happy Sunday Food Tripping!  Are you going out to eat today?  Where are you heading?

Food!  One way to relieve my stress is to talk about food and of course, to try them out!  When my brother was here, he was definitely craving for Filipino Dish!  I can't blame here!  After years of working in China, the first month that I was here, I was in Filipino Dish crave! <-- if such term does exist!

Since we were just around Greenbelt area, I suggest for Masas for the nice "homey" ambiance at the same time, to satisfy my brother's cravings!

Masas Crispy Sisig
Php250.00 (approx $5.70)
Masas very own sisig with crunch
I have tried better sisig dishes out there but I have to admit, they are quite unique in terms of texture and "size" of the sisig bits as compared to other restaurants.

Sinigang na Baboy
Php285.00 (approx $6.50)
Pork belly cubes slowly simmered in tamarind broth
with assorted native vegetables
Right amount of tamarind for that sour broth with ample amount of vegetables and pork

Kare Kare
Php325.00 (approx $7.40)
Beef ox tail and tripe stew in peanut sauce
Let's not forget the bagoong! This Kare Kare dish tastes great especially for anyone who's craving for one! I always get to eat my Kare Kare if my brother is back in the country!  I ask for "loads of bagoong" or else, I'm not going to eat this no matter how delicious this may be :)

Laing
Php110.00 (approx $2.50)
Dried taro leaves cooked in coconut milk
Okay, I can't give my thoughts on this dish, I apologize but I'm not a fan of laing.  Don't get me wrong, I like coconut milk dishes and I like vegetables but I just don't like them together! hehehe  My mom and brother loved it though!  Saw their happy faces after chowing this down.

Gising-Gising
Php98.00 (approx $2.00)
Awakingly coked Spinach dish with pork and chilies in coconut milk
I did say I'm not a fan of coconut milk and vegetables mixed together but if there's one exception to the rule, that'll be Gising-Gising!  Coconut milk taste is quite strong in this dish, though I love this dish, my ultimate favorite Gising-Gising dish is still from  Cafe Adriatico!

Inihaw na Pusit
(served with Ensaladang Mangga on the side)
Php225.00 (approx $5.25)
Grilled squid in sweet sauce
The squid is very tender and indeed quite sweet!  Perfect match with garlic rice!

Inihaw na Liempo
Served with Ensaladang Talong on the side
Php280.00 (approx $6.40)
Charcoal broiled pork belly marinated with Masas Original recipe
I may not be a fan of pork fat but I do like the taste of their Inihaw na Liempo!  Cooked just right and the perfect combination of this is eating this together with the ensaladang talong that was served.

Of course, the best way to enjoy Filipino dishes is to order a bowl of garlic rice!  Feel free to go beyond 1 bowl and no one will judge you! :)

And of course, you can choose either soda or iced tea!  I went for the latter! :)

Service was a bit slow and I guess it's understandable as they waited to serve all the dishes at one time!  We ordered 2 orders of each dishes mentioned above and we went out with full tummy!

Satisfy Filipino Dishes Craving = SUCCESS!

The restaurant accepts cash and credit card payments.

Masas
Paseo de Roxas cor. Legaspi St., Ayala Center
Makati, Metro Manila, Philippines
tel. no: +632-757-4031

What's your "must try" dish from Masas?
I'll definitely go back to try other dishes!

AMW Reviews: Palgantong Makeup Theatrical Powder

I got my Palgantong Make-Up Theatrical Powder from a dear blogger friend who gifted this to me!  To be honest, I do not use much setting powder as my skin could get flaky if I set my makeup with an oil control setting powder so I prefer to leave my makeup as dewy as possible!

As a makeup artist, this is one of the many products needed to make my clients happy!  So off I went to try this as a setting powder or retouch powder and I'm oh so ready to report to you how I find this product! :)

Palgantong Make-Up Theatrical Powder says ---
  • Make use of natural ingredients leaving a natural sheer finish
  • Ultra fine, lightweight loose powder, keeps skin in its natural glow
  • Waterproof allows long lasting freshness look
  • Works perfectly with or without makeup and does not clog up pores
AMW says ---
Pros
  • Packaging is hygienic as you get to sift out just the amount of product you need without messing the rest of the powder.
  • Definitely lightweight, does not feel heavy on skin once applied!
  • Gives a very nice smooth finish.
  • Matte-looking skin without the shine for hours.
  • Can minimize the look of pores.
  • No weird scent
Cons
  • No ingredients listed on packaging so I can't tell if a certain ingredient can cause allergic reactions or not.
  • As always for loose powders, it can get a bit messy as compared to pressed powders.
  • Not readily available locally as we need to scour on resellers and some of them are on prebuy so we need to wait!
  • With this particular Clear White variant, applying too much may make you look ghostly white especially if applied with heavy hand!
Overall
One of the finest setting powder I've tried and this is even comparable to my Shu Uemura Face Powder in terms of texture and feel.  It does mattify your face and has oil-control, do not expect coverage as this comes in  very sheer.

Tips
  • Blot your face with oil-control sheets PRIOR to applying this setting powder or else, you'll get blotchy skin!
  • Does control oil but doesn't control sweat so you still need to blot and retouch especially if you're living in a super hot and humid country like the Philippines.
  • Use the free sponge with a patting motion for a matte finish.
  • For overall setting powder, use a big face brush and pat on your face concentrating more on the t-zone area.
  • A little definitely goes a long way for this particular product!  I prefer using a big powder brush and a little amount of this powder and gently apply all over face to remove excess shine and moisture.
Will I repurchase?
Yes, I would like to go for the Beige version which could be the closest dupe for Shu Uemura's Face Powder in Sheer.

To whom do I recommend this to?
Anyone who likes oil-control and re-touch minus the heavy feel.

Where to purchase and how much?
We used to have Dodo Cosmetics sold locally at Greenhills but they closed down so I guess we can only shop online.  This Multiply Seller sells 10g for Php600.00 (approx $13.95).

So far, for its' price and the amount of product that was still left, this product is worth it especially if you are into loose setting powder with oil control! :)

Do you use loose type of setting powder?
If so, which brand and do you like it?

The Unsung Hero: FitFlop

Ohh, I haven't blog about The Unsung Hero for quite some time and I guess today is the right time to rekindle The Unsung Hero Series! :)

My love for comfortable footwear has always been around which explains why I do not randomly purchase gorgeous looking shoes even if they were on sale!  And the wonderful part about being married to Mr. AMW (aside from him being supportive and all), I am also married to a family whom I can greatly connect to!
Over the months, I've seen wonderful pairs of FitFlop right in front of me and I have never really mind them until one day I asked my mom-in-law: "Are these FitFlop sandals really as comfortable as they say?"

Judging by the number of FitFlop pairs we have at home, you probably know the answer to the above question by now!

Leftmost pair owned by Mr. AMW's Dad!
Because he's a very cool dad-in-law :)

Frou in Black

 Electra in Coral

With the pairs we own? Are we stopping?
The answer is as simple as "N-O" NO! :)
FitFlop are worth the price I would say as the pairs you see above have been with us for a couple of months and they still look as good as new!  Not much wearing nor tearing.

P.S. We purchased our FitFlop pairs at The Duty Free Shop Philippines.  So I do  not have the exact price of each pair!  FitFlop price ranges around Php3,500 to Php4,500.

Do you own a FitFlop?
Do you like them or dislike them?
