AMW Reviews: Wet n Wild Megalast Salon Nail Color

Another week is here and I can't believe its mid-October already!  I know I've been complaining how long my morning sickness has been but come to think of it, time flew by pretty quickly still (to most of you..lol) and I am excited for Christmas! :)

Now, I haven't been sporting any polish shade on both my toes and fingers but that doesn't mean I've stopped myself at staring at the gorgeous colors different brands have to offer!

Recently, I got my first Wet n Wild Megalast Salon Nail Color as a gift because I was told this is perfect for me as the polish doesn't have the BIG 3 we're scared of!  Because I've been suffering from morning sickness and my pregnancy hormones gave me the dog's sense of smell, I can't seem to stay long inside a room with a polish scent so I asked my dearest sister to test this polish for me!  Well, right after I played with the polish myself using fake nails!

The gorgeous shade I got is called Through the Grapevine (208B)

Wet n Wild says ---
Wet n Wild Mega Last Nail Polish was technologically advanced for longer lasting color without chipping! It has been reformulated with a revolutionary resin polymer system that creates exceptional color adhesion to nails. It is fortified with calcium and other mineral, which nourishes and strengthens the nails, these new formulation rebalance and prevent nail discoloration. Mega Last Nail Color is free of Toluene, Phthalate and Formaldehyde that are known as toxic and causes most skin irritations.

Mega Last Nail Color’s sophisticated, classic colors beautifully accent any look. It provides 5 days of chip-resistant wear and it comes with a one of a kind full-coverage brush that gives you convenience and a smoother application in just one glide--- now, that’s convenient!

18 vibrant colors: Wet Cement, Break the Ice, 2% Milk, Private Viewing, Sugar Coat, Undercover, Bite the Bullet, Through the Grapevine, Candy-licious, Tropicalia, Club Havana, Heatwave, On a Trip, I Red a Good Book, Haze of Love, Under your Spell, Disturbia and I need a Refresh-mint

AMW says ---
Pros
  • Nice simple bottle.
  • Brush!  The wide brush head makes it easier to apply even for first-time polish wearers.
  • Free of Toluene, Phthalate and Formaldehyde!
  • Good pigmentation even at 1 coat.
  • Has a good shine even prior to top coat application.
  • According to my sister, this lasted her 3.5 days even with heavy housework! (without base and topcoat)
  • Price!
Cons
  • The scent.  The strong, regular nail polish scent is still there.
Overall
Lovely pigmentation.  Consistency is creamy and good.  The polish lasts for at least 3 days and could go longer with a good base and top coat.

Tips
  • Store all your polishes in cool, dry place.
  • To keep your nails healthy, use a good base coat and top coat prior to any nail polish application.
  • Polish application should be done in a room without electric fan.
  • Do not wash your hands at least 30 minutes before polish application to prevent bubbles from forming.
  • Do the "wrapping method" to make your polish last longer.
  • Smile and click HERE to read my previous post on how to apply polish correctly.
Will I repurchase?
YES!

To whom do I recommend this to?
Nail polish wearers who would want to protect their nails and skin from harmful chemicals!  I was told this can even be used by preggies!

Where to purchase and how much?
Priced locally Php199.00 (approx $4.74). Available at SM Department Store Makati, Megamall, North Edsa , Cubao, Fairview, Manila, San Lazaro, Las Pinas.  Watsons Personal Care Store Megamall and Mall of Asia.

Photos

Pro brush that's flat and wide, with practice,
you can get to apply your polish without a mess!

 Through the Grapevine
(Left - 1 coat, middle and right - 2 coats)
A lovely fuchsia shade that has a hint of plum.
This shade would work well on all ages and would look good on any skin tone!
As seen on swatch below, this would do good even with just 1 coat.

Ahhh, I can totally see how great the color looks on me!
Through the Grapevine --- soon, I'll get to use you! :P

Do you use nail polishes even if they have the BIG 3?
Would you give Wet n Wild Megalast Salon Nail Color a try?

Something New: Let's Move & Let's Love

Happy Saturday!
A couple of weeks ago, my dearest friend who works for Midas Brand Management Ms. Emily Sia-Koa invited me for "Let's Celebrate!" Press and Bloggers Event with the help of people from Studio 116 Dance Studio , I knew it would be a fun event plus I get to see her and catch up with her!

Mind you, I'm a great party person!  You ask me to dance, I dance, you ask me to sing, I'll sing for you!  *winks*

The problem was,  it was the start of my morning sickness and dancing is definitely not a good plan for the moment!  So I missed the event!

Because my dear friend Emily doesn't want me to miss out the fun, she sent me a gorgeous shirt that says "Keep Calm and Dance On" plus the newest modern and romantic fragrance for women called Let's Love.

"The perfect fragrance for young women who still believe in romance.  They are looking for the unique sparkle, the "je ne sais quoi" that will make their heart pound.  With insouciance and impertinence, they want to discover this unique sensation, this extraordinary thrill that can only be felt when falling in love." --- United Colors of Benetton

 30ml Php850.00 (approx $20.20)
100ml Php1,450.00 (approx $33.73)

Ahhh, the feeling of wanting to love and be loved!  Everyone went through the same stage!  I gave this scent a sniff and surprisingly, it's floral, fruity scent gave me a nice relaxing feel in which Mr. AMW agreed this is my kind of scent!

And when we talk about LOVE, there's always going to be a partner for the female scent!  United Colors of Benetton also launched "Let's Move" for our special someone!

"The perfect fragrance for modern, urban and young men always in motion.  Energetic, athletic and self confident, they are always eager to find the next thrill in life.  They refuse monotonous and already established paths, they want to live life to the fullest, express themselves and explore new territories.  Their deepest dream: Have fun, push boundaries and reinvent seduction codes." --- United Colors of Benetton

  30ml Php950.00 (approx $22.62)
100ml Php1,450.00 (approx $33.73)

From the tester, Let's Move is a Ctrius scent with a punch of black pepper making the scent more intense at the same time gives a refreshing feel!

Mr AMW & I have always been a fan of United Colors of Benetton scents and I love the fact that they are housed in a very simple and minimalist bottles!  And of course, the fact that they always have his and hers fragrance line that suits the couples' needs.

I felt sad I missed the dance moves from the instructors of Studio 116 but thanks to the brochures, I can't wait to give their school a try after, maybe, I give birth hoping to get back to my pre-pregnancy weight!  Zumba, Shiba --- I'm going to try both of you!!!  Like Studio 116 on Facebook for more details.

Have you tried any UCB fragrances?
Do you like purchasing his and hers fragrances?

You know my answer, I DO! :)

Eureka Moment: Mediplast Cartoon Plastic Strips

Happy Friday!  It's Friday!!!  Do you feel the excitement?  I am so happy I will be able to rest for the weekend!  I've been super tired lately, well, I've been very tired for the past 2 months!  (What's new?)  *laughs*  Would you believe I can cry and laugh at the same time?  I think I'm going crazy! (Must be the hormones!)

Today's edition of Eureka Moment is a very childish one so please bear with me!  I may be a mom soon but I'm as childish as a 4-year old!  It's okay, life is too serious so enjoy life like you were still a kid!  Don't you miss those days?

Band-aids, I have them inside my bag at all times like a girl scout!  Why?  I'm a clumsy girl who gets bumps and scratches on random places you wouldn't even believe!  And as far as I remember, I do not own the regular "invisible" or "looks like skin" band aids for years!  I have always been into cute band aids because it hurts to get hurt but it doesn't hurt to look cute!  (Guys reading this are ready to punch me by now!  lol)

My current band aid inside my bag, the plastic case and the content were all from Korea!  Yes, I hoarded and I can't believe how cute their designs are!

I have searched high and low for band aid designs available locally, the closest I got was from Mediplast and it was the Checkered plastic strips!  Do you still remember those available in blue, yellow and pink?  I've used them for quite some time and I can't believe no one thought of coming up with a cartoon strips!

EUREKA MOMENT!

Finally!  I know these are probably marketed for kids but adults who are kids at heart will love this too!  Well, of course, I'm not saying we're loving the scars and getting hurt but you know what I mean!

Designs: Angels, Bears and Stars

I wish Mediplast will create more cute designs!  As for the moment, I'm happily refilling this in my cute band aid case!

** Assorted box 100s is Php104.50 (approx $2.50)
50s at Php60.00 (approx $1.43)
10s at Php15.50 (approx $0.40)
Available at Mercury Drug Outlets and leading supermarkets nationwide.

Do you prefer band aids with cute designs
or you don't care at all?

AMW Reviews: Majolica Majorca Brow and Lash Colorist BR333

During my Korea trip, I was fixated on finding a light-colored brow pencils and the country didn't fail me!  I came home with 20 eyebrow pencils that me and my clients are currently enjoying!

Early this year, during my Tokyo Japan trip, I've had my eyes fixed on finding the best and most inexpensive brow gels and trust me, I've been entering almost every beauty store I see and head straight to their "Brows corner"!

Isn't it obvious I'm addicted to brow products?  (Thank you Mr. AMW for still loving me at this point of brow-insanity!)  *laughs*

Then, during dinner with Majolica Majorca's Cathy David, she whipped out testers of Psychedelicious Collection and everyone was reaching out for the same product --- The Majolica Majorca Brow and Lash Colorist!  Yes!  We finally have a decent and inexpensive one down here!

Since it was dark at the restaurant, we didn't get to really swatch and try the product so I went home wondering, will it be better than MAC's Girl Boy?  Will it even be comparable to my favorite SANA Styling W Brow or Kiss Me Heavy Rotation Coloring Eyebrow?

The shade I got is BR333 which is the lighter version among the 2 shades available!

Majolica Majorca says ---
Color brow and lashes brown to match your hair color and makeup.  A single stroke will brighten and color your brow and lashes instantly.  Doesn't clump and achieves a fluffy finish.
Waterproof, Resist Sweat, Sebum and Tear.
Contains Vitamin E and Macadamia nuts oil.

Shades: BR555 (Maroon brown) and BR333 (vanilla brown)
Size: 4.5g

AMW says ---
Pros
  • The tapered wand makes it easy to use and control.
  • Lightweight.
  • Waterproof, sweat-proof.  Stays until makeup removal.
  • The effect is natural.  The hair doesn't look stiff.
  • Tints the brows and lashes at the same time grooms them.
  • I have used the Majolica Majorca Brow and Lash Colorist for the past 2 months (or more) and so far, the consistency is still good and not dry at all.
  • Affordable price.
Cons
  • Only 2 shades available, some would like a much lighter colored brow gel.
Overall
The gel is lightweight, effect is always natural.  Long-lasting.

Tips
  • Make sure your brows are properly plucked, waxed and shaped.
  • Wipe excess brow gel on the lip of the packaging as less is always more!
  • I know the product is called Brow and Lash colorist but I prefer using this on my brows.  Having lightly colored lashes will make my lashes look non-existent.
  • If you have full brows, you can get away by using only this.  If not, fill in sparse areas with brow powder or brow pencil of similar shade.
  • To make the effect more natural, brush your brows with a clean spoolie after application to prevent clumps or uneven tone.
  • If you are a makeup artist, purchase disposable spoolies for hygiene.
  • Try to apply using light-hand strokes.  Try to steer clear from touching the brush against your skin.  Accidents may happen, don't fret, use a cotton bud and gently wipe off excess gel.
  • Keep in mind to take time to clean not only your face and eyes but also to take time in cleaning your brows.
Will I repurchase?
Yes

To whom do I recommend this to?
Anyone who has colored hair and would like to lighten or tint their brows.

Where to purchase and how much?
At local Majolica Majorca counters for Php595.00 (approx $13.80).

Photos

The Majolica Majorca Brow and Lash Colorist comes in a plastic box with Manufacturing date printed.

The packaging is the same shade as the brow gel.
In this photo is BR333

Application technique:
Brush the Majolica Majorca Brow and Lash Colorist starting at the inner corner and brush outward.  After doing so, it pays to go back from the tip of the brows, this time, going inward to make sure the color is even.

BR333 on my dark brows.  (in this photo, I didn't fill or redefine shape with pencil or brow powder just for you to see the exact shade of BR333 on me).

Do you need to tint your brows?
Would you try Majolica Majorca's Brow and Lash Colorist?

AMW Reviews: The SaladBox

Happy Hump Day AMW friends!
Have you been reading blogs from other countries like the US?  Malaysia?  Singapore?  Have you once asked yourself why they get these gorgeous beauty boxes delivered to their homes and wished we have the same?

*raises head up to the sky*  THANK YOU for answering my prayers!  Beauty Box subscription is finally here!  No need to drool on computer screen on other people's boxes as you can have your own delivered straight to your doorstep!

AMW says ---
Pros
  • There are 5 plans to choose from in which some of the plan helps save you more money!
  • I was expecting a huge box with tiny contents, I'm glad the company helps save the environment with a box that is compact in size.
  • You get to try different brands without spending too much.
  • Gift vouchers are also available to help save you money for your next "full sized" purchase.
Cons
  • You may end up getting a box of products you're not interested in.
  • If you are the type who's iffy with knowing where exactly your money goes, the surprise may be stressful for you!
Overall
This is the best way to sample products.  Some months may be worth the Php500.00 paid while other months may not!  Think of it as gambling! :P  Legal gambling!
