Christmas is just around the corner and a lot of us are not in celebratory mood because of the pandemic.  So even with no gatherings, I always have this positive thought of using these times to do the things we can't seem to do when things were normal.  Like taking time to apply my skincare products.

I have used Bio-Science products when they first launched and I was in love with the Gold Water and Energizing Water.  Fast forward to today, they added more products in their skincare line for sensitive skin and I am glad I get to try all of them this time!

As for me, I have been using these several times and I have sensitive skin so I am confident to recommend this.  But keep in mind not everybody would react to skincare products the same way as I do so please do a patch test if possible or try inserting one product at a time, don't go crazy over the whole line in an instant!

Post Partum Pregnancy Food: Ahma Shirley's Specialties

  

Hi AMW friends who are mommies!  Have you done "Gelai" (The Chinese Method of Post partum healing"?

To those of you who are confused, this is the method where it involves not bathing for a month after giving birth, not doing any strenuous activities, eating food rich in iron, etc... exchanging water with this special tea as water and a WHOLE LOT MORE!

Why would we even do that?  After 9 full months of carrying a "heavy load", why would you torture yourself?  That was the exact words I had in mind but I was surprised I followed almost every single rule existed in the "Ge Lai" rule book (if there's any) because number 1: I don't want o disrespect my mom-in-law and number 2, I do want to look as good as my mom and mom-in-law after giving birth!

All these are done to bring back to "warmth" of the body as they say as they were all pushed out and gone together with child bearing!  Whether you believe it or not, at the back of my head I always say: "If it doesn't hurt me, I'll join them!"

For the person involved, the no bathing for a month is probably the worst but truth be told, the hard part are for the parents or helper who takes care of you!  They do all the stuff for you and prepare nutritious food.  These Gelai dishes to be honest aren't easy to prepare!  

So today, I am here to lift some of the burden for your household if YOU or anyone in your family is doing Gelai.  

I discovered Ahma Shirley's Specialties via Instagram when they messaged me to give their bestselling dishes a try!  With a short chat with the owner, I learned that the recipe was handed down from the handle owner's Mom-in-law to her husband who does the cooking on all these delicious dishes.

These dishes arrived at my doorstep via delivery service and it was handled very well and packed well!  

Ellana's Multi Color Creams First Try

 

I have been using Ellana products a couple of times and reviewed a couple of their new releases.  You may click HERE if you don't believe me but I am sure you do as I have tried so many makeup brands on this Blog!

My ultimate favorite from this brand will always be their Loose Mineral Powder foundation in French Vanilla and once a long time ago, my face was actually the model for that shade on their website.  So receiving a care package from the brand brought me back to so many good old memories.

Just in time for the care package, they included their newest products called Multi-Color Creams.  I got 4 shades to try and I shared how I'd use them on eyes, cheeks and lips!

Here's the simple look I created setting everything with their Setting Spray.

Style Series: Little Blue Dress + Personal Thoughts

 

When quarantine kicked in early this year, I was at a lost but I need to feel better about myself after months and months of wearing huge T-shirt and shorts!  I knew I had to dress up, apply makeup and do my hair at one time just to feel good.

This photo was taken for the record, the time I was smiling on the outside but dead worried on the inside.  

I lost a couple of jobs and my son was crying random days because he misses his family, the mall and random short trips to Tagaytay.

Looking back, I am glad I continued with Blog and Social Media.  A lot would probably say: "Just stop it!" "You are so insensitive for posting superficial content."

Thankfully, it was all in my head, nobody judged my postings but instead, I got to speak and meet more people online.  Fellow moms, fellow workers, fellow daughters who are going through this hardship the same way I did!  

I am here to say, I am glad I stayed true to who I am and never strayed.

TO YOU who are still here visiting and reading this, THANK YOU.  I am seriously grateful to have confidant in you guys.  The fact that there are still people reading my grammatically challenged posts (as I never reread, I just pour my heart out and click PUBLISH).  Thank you for being kind to me.  Thank you for being nice.  And most of all?  Thanks for fighting as well, we are all fighters and are survivors!

NEW! Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder in HONEY

 

Laura Mercier has been around for so many years and it has been a vital brand to "collect" when I started out on Makeup Artistry.   I remembered wanting the Laura Mercier Oil Free Foundation Primer for badly and finally felt like a legit Pro MUA when I owned a tube.  

The iconic Translucent Loose Setting Powder will never be missed!  Translucent has been my go-to setting powder for bridges because it just sets everything in place and looks so flawless on both photos and videos.

Fast forward to a dreadful year 2020, something nice - in the Beauty World that is, came up when Laura Mercier launched 3 TRULY translucent shades that work on virtually every single skin tone in the planet!  That's from the fairest to deepest!

I did a half face test on both Translucent and Honey and the effect is seen on photo below.  Left facing you is Translucent while right facing you is Honey.  Both yields same shine-free, matte, blurred perfection skin but there is a slight difference between the two.  Spoke more about the differences on my half-face test video below.

Just so you know, HONEY shade is more natural-looking version.  I know, translucent is natural enough and I don't know what can go more natural!  As seen on the half face video below, you can literally see HONEY side of my face to have a more natural-glow.  My skin is still peeking through is compared to Translucent which blurs out everything.
