My "Gig" Traincase

I love putting make-up on others,
but of course, I need to bring my stuffs for most times...
Before I seriously considered to be a make-up artist,
I got so scared to buy a TRAINCASE...
because I know I have to fill them up...
filling them up would only mean one thing...
SPEND MORE MONEY!
But because of my passion for make-up, I've slowly purchased some products,
and because of blogging, it really does help to read fellow bloggers' product reviews, feedbacks, and a whole lot of tips tips tips!

Now, I am ready to show to the world "What's in my Traincase". Again, this was purchased not so long ago, it's not a lot, but I think I am happy enough to be able to survive any make-up session with my collection... I believe in having the basics, and be creative enough to work your way to different looks. Enjoy!!!

My pride, my baby!

Here's what you will see when you first open the traincase

Here's what's on the LEFT side of the case

1. All single eyeshadows
2. Eyeshadow palettes
3. Extra mascara, concealers, spatulas, brow shaver, pencil sharpener, brow scissors, etc...

And here's on my Right side

1. Brow pencils, eye pencils, mascaras, eyeshadow primers, eyeliners, liquid liners etc...
2. Chrome Shadows, blush powders
3. All lippy products (plus 2 adopted Body Shop e/s LOL needed more space!)

In the middle are my foundations, falsies, powders, palettes, etc...
Whatever big enough that won't fit, it's all in there baby!

And yes, I am so organized that I can close it without problems

Success!!!

And of course, I won't forget my traincase "belt" to protect all my babies!

I've bared my heart and soul... (LOL)
Hope you guys enjoyed it!
Want to see where I get the traincase belt?
Easy...
Just smile and say Traincase Belt!

My Body Shop E/S Super Mini- Haul

Eye Shimmer in Violet and Emerald Available at The Body Shop

My first purchase from the Body Shop is their Mango Body Butter cream. Then I was introduced to the Body Shop Tea Tree oil, their pocket size mini brush set....and now..their e/s! I wouldn't think I would ever buy their e/s. Don't get me wrong, I know they have really good cosmetic lines but I just haven't heard much about their eye shadows.

They went on sale for last month and I can't help but take a look on where I can spend my moolah to! Cause I have a lot of cash LOL <--- guys, you do know that it's a joke right? Please believe me, it's a JOKE! lol Anyways, at first, I was looking through the neutrals and the regular colors. But something caught my eye, it's called the EYE SHIMMER. I checked on the tester, swabbed it once with my fingers and put it on my lids. VOILA! I was expecting my hubby to laugh, I was more surprised when he said "uhhmm..it's different, but it's very pretty!" WHOAH?!? SO I had to check my reflection and I was surprised coz I'm loving it!

I bought 2 shades right away, the super shimmery pink and super shimmery green. But since they are quite new, they are only on for 10%. While the rest are 20-30% off!

The Verdict? Read on ---

The Body Shop Says ---

Highly pearlescent shimmering powders, with a soft, smooth texture, that provides strong coverage. Light diffusing particles and pearl pigments add sparkle while helping to disguise fine lines on the eyelids. Perfect for any occasion, day or night.
Askmewhats Says ---

Pros
  • cute, tiny packaging
  • very pigmented
  • perfect to be used alone
  • easy to apply with fingers, without much effort needed
  • delivers the "Impact" especially the emerald!

Cons
  • pricey
  • it creases! with or without UDPP
  • the sparkle could get into your eyes (believe me, it got in mine in the middle of the day LOL)
  • if used all over the lid, your eyes will look puffy and people will believe there's Alien existing

Askmewhats Tips ---

  • IMO (in my opinion) I would use the Body Shop eye shimmers with my fingers, I tried using a brush and it doesn't look as good at swiping the color over your lids with your pinkie!
  • You can have your regular smokey look, and swab on once or twice on the lower lids (only) , you will create a very dramatic effect!
  • Use this alone with a black kohl pencil, vavavoom!
Will I repurchase?

No, as you don't use much of this tiny pot so this will last a long time..until expiration! lol

**note: applied no base, just the Body Shop e/s swiped 2x each eye

If you want a very dramatic shimmery look, this is the BEST
I have tried.
But if you want subtle shimmer, you won't like this much!

My Haul Swatches!!!

These are all swatched 2 x , no base!

I'm glad that eventhough I chose everything online,
(which online buyers know how difficult it is)
I was able to make the right decision,
I love them all!!!
I want more ...more... more!!! LOL

and before I forget...here's something I just want to share, A lot of MAC Amber Lights user and Milani Sun Goddess user may have found this out But I just found out myself recently....

Milani Sun Goddess is a dupe of MAC Aber Lights.
Milani Sun Goddess is a bit lighter, but I found that when you pack on the color,
it'll get the same color payoff as the famous MAC Amber Lights!

I am so sorry for my Philippine readers, I'm not doing this on purpose to make us feel bad that these products aren't available to us. Just in case you've got friends/families who live in the US or who will be bringing back home some stuffs and you were asked what you wanted to buy, these are great products and won't make you work overtime just to pay them back! LOL

Another Important Event Makeover

My sister, Winnie, who always does MY hair and my make-up for special events, after several years, the wheel's has turned and she wants me to do her make-up on her brother-in-law's wedding day. We didn't have the chance to bond so much since she had her kid, always busy and no time to prettify herself. So this was the chance, I made sure she enjoyed the makeover and I am glad she loved it and made me her official make-up artist on any important events...Yay!

Bea's Make-up as a Candle Sponsor

Bea, the Beatrilicious, was a candle sponsor for her friend's wedding last Sunday.
My lovely model asked me to do her make-up.
She requested a very simple yet "not oily" or "ghost face on photograph" look.
She has to be ready before 11:00am so I went to her home on Sunday at around 9:30am!
It was early, and I seldom get up early during Sundays, but this is so worth it!
Talking to her, chatting with her, giggling while putting make-up...
I didn't even feel stressed or tired at all!
I enjoyed this so much! Thanks for the laughs and for trusting me with your make-up my friend!

And may I add some "on the scene" shots by my wonderful Hubby?

Things Askmewhats learned on gigs like this ---
  • Always come in early
  • Bring your own tissue, cotton buds, wipes etc...
  • Bring your own blowdryer (best for heating the eyelash curler)
  • Disinfect your hands before touching other people's faces
  • If possible, ask them to wash their face again with water, or bring an atomizer and spray on their faces to make the client feels fresh!
  • Put on moisturizer, wait for a couple of minutes before putting on Primer (very important for long events)
  • Take time to apply foundation, and make sure all parts are well covered, even the neck and shoulders
  • Check if the client have dry skin/oily skin/sensitive skin and most especially, if client is ACIDIC (Note: Acidic skin turns the foundation darker after application)
  • After all the make-up application, spritz some atomizer on the face --- really far around 8-12 inches apart to make the make-up stick....let dry, then apply loose powder again to set the look
  • Don't stress yourself and your client. Make her feel happy and comfortable.
There's a whole bunch of stuffs I learned..
But I just posted and highlighted the important ones!
I love it that Bea is letting me know her feedbacks, texting me, telling me how her make-up stayed on with just a very simple powder touch up!
So happy she loved it!
Thanks again Bea!
