Readers' Corner: Blush Products that Last

Happy Tuesday AMW Friends!
I was in a mood to check my "Blog Query" folder and scroll way down and finally get to answer the "most asked" query from readers!  As the title goes, it's all about long-lasting blushin' today!

Who doesn't like their blush to last until makeup removal?  I know I do!  Here are some of the makeup brands that I've tried (and tested) on both myself and clients!  They're mentioned here because they passed!

Are you ready?

Obviously tints, cream and gel blushes are still the most long-lasting blush product I've tried and I use them dearly on my bridal clients!  Because I want to make sure everyone gets to try these tints, I've included inexpensive, mid-priced and pricey alternatives!  Of course, everyone would like to go to the inexpensive route but if you want more options, the pricier brands definitely have more for you to choose from!

San San Everyday Cheek Tint
Php168.00 (approx $4.00)

This works as most regular cheek tints but what I like about this product is its long-wearability!  You have to pile on MORE than the other cheek tints mentioned here to get the color you want but once it's set, you're good to go!

Majolica Majorca Cream De Cheek
Php495.00 (approx $12.30)

For a Japanese brand, I find these affordable aside from the fact that they are pigmented, a little goes a long way!

The Body Shop Lip and Cheek Tint
Php795.00 (approx $17.30)

I believe this product puts The Body Shop on the map when it comes to makeup!  I haven't really heard much about TBS makeup products as I've always associated them with skincare.  Since I got to try TBS Lip and Cheek Tint, I knew the brand has a potential to create good, affordable cosmetics.  I love how this tint is so easy to use on both cheeks and lips.  The color reminds me of Benefit's Benetint!

Benefit's Benetint
Php1,800 (approx $41.80)

Benefit's Cha Cha Tint
Php1,800 (approx $41.80)

Benefit's Posie Tint
Php1,800 (approx $41.80)

The entire Benefit Cosmetics' versions of tints are long-lasting and are wearable!  My favorite among the 3 shades I've tried is Cha Cha Tint and I have to admit, I use that a lot on my bridal gigs I have to purchase another bottle for myself!  My next favorite is Posie Tint as it gives a super natural and sweet blush on a lazy "not much makeup on" days!  As for Benetint, I guess it's on the last of my list as I got to try loads of similar shades from brands like The Body Shop and San San.  If we are talking about long-lasting tint among the 3, the Benefit Benetint is the winner!  It stays no matter what type of skin you have!  It works even for oily skin!

Estee Lauder Pure Color Cheek Blush
Php2,000 (approx $50.00)

This is the most recent (and most expensive) long-lasting cheek blush I've tried and reviewed.  To be honest, the product is really pricey but for a professional makeup artist that I am, I believe this product is worth it as the product is very pigmented, easy to apply, works for all skin types and lasts until removal!  The added plus is the pump packaging making it very hygienic (which is super important for clients.)

What about powder blush lovers who really CAN'T use blush creams or tints?  Well, I have one powdered blush product that I've tried, I haven't tried them all, but this blush amazed me on how long it lasted on my cheeks even without creams or tints underneath!

The Tarte Amazonian 12-Hour Blush
Php1,200 (approx $27.90)

And because this is a readers' corner post, what's the best way to end this post?  Tips of course!  Here are just some of the simplest tips (some you already knew) on how to create long-lasting blush!
  • Use cheek tints, cream and gel blush (all the ones mentioned above) as blush primer!  Yes, we can call these blush primer as I use them to keep my powdered blush last longer.
  • After you apply your choice of cream/liquid blush, set with a translucent powder before you proceed applying your powdered blush.  This way, even if your powdered blush disappear midday, you have another 'layer' of blush (from the liquid/cream) underneath protected by a translucent powder.  (Does this makes?)
  • After doing the steps above, spritz your cheeks with a facial mist to "set" the blush powder making the blush pigments stick longer.  It's better if you own the Finishing Spray by Skindinavia.

Now these are just some of the products and tips I've personally tried and done.   I'm sure you have your own list of Blushers that Last and tips to make them last longer!  Click comment below and share us your list!

  1. I actually do the powder over tint technique too! For inexpensive duos, I use TBS lip and cheek tint together with Maybelline's Mineral blush in Gentle Pink (I actually bought this mineral blush bec you used it so often in your past posts!).

Have never tried finishing sprays tho. I'm wary they'd go heavy on my sensitive skin and break me out OR I may just be a sissy for chickening out before giving it a try, idk.

    1. Aww thanks, I still love my mineral blush in Gentle Pink from Maybelline! I use it until now! :)

Naku, if you have very sensitive skin, skip the finishing spray na..or probably just use regular water sprtiz just to 'settle' the powder look

  4. Majolica Majorca Cream de Cheek doesn't last long on me. Even when I wear primer underneath and top it with powder blush of the same color, it still fades in around 3 hours. But I don't want to pile on a lot of color just to make it last longer; I will look like a clown!

    1. hmm..that's odd! do you have super oily skin? I wonder why it doesn't last on you! Well, true to what they say, it really depends on the skin of the user, some that works for me may not work for you! So which tint works for you?
