Klook Powers Through A New Era Of Travel With A Captivating Rebrand

My last trip in Taiwan brought us back to so much good memories, memories of excitement, happiness and COMFORT.  What made our trip super comfortable since the moment we stepped out of Taoyuan Airport?

KLOOK!  From airport transfers to booking some attractions, everything was a breeze and I can’t wait for COVID-19 to finally ease up for us to have our much-needed family vacation once again.

I recently attended an online event for KLOOK introducing an all-new end-toend travel and leisure superapp geared towards joyful moments.

The Philippines, March 4, 2022 — In overcoming a major milestone of canceled flights, travel bans, and closed borders, Klook has proven to be at the forefront of its industry. Coming out stronger than ever, the leading travel and leisure e-commerce platform continues to break boundaries with an all-new brand identity. Here to make consumer travel more meaningful and enjoyable, the company launched "Your World Of Joy" to play on joyful moments at the core of travel.

"As we enter a new era of travel, this rebrand is our commitment to bring joy back to our customers who have missed the magic of traveling and be their go-to travel and leisure app at home or abroad," says Eric Gnock Fah, Chief Operating Officer and Co-founder of Klook.

My Ladies' Special Experience in Seoul, Korea (Part 2)

So you've read My Ladies' Special Experience in Seoul, Korea Part 1 and I hope you enjoyed my story-telling and will enjoy reading Part 2.

In Seoul, though it is the Capital of South Korea and probably appears like any other cities across the world when you Google photos online.  Seoul has an innate beauty waiting to be explored.  Once you visit the city, you'll long to go back.  The feeling is just unexplainable and definitely beyond K-Dramas and K-Pop artists.

As promised, here's Part Two of the Ladies' Special arranged by Korea Tourism Organization, JG Summit Holdings, Inc. and Cebu Pacific Air I hope I inspired you to want to visit the city too because I'll definitely go back with the family!

6. Grévin Seoul Museum
1 adult pass to enter Grévin Seoul Museum costs 18,000KRW (around Php588.00 local currency) and you can spend half a day inside max.  The Grévin Seoul  is a waxwork museum established recently (year 2015 to be exact). If you think this museum is only found in Korea, you are wrong (okay fine, we are wrong!)  Musee Grévin is France's famous beeswax museum and they have branches in Paris, Montreal, Prague then the first in Asia which is located in Korea.

What makes Grévin Seoul unique from the ones you're used to seeing?

They added a slew of South Korean hallyu celebrities like Psy, G Dragon, Kim Yuna (figure skating star), plus historical figures such as King Sejong and General Yi Sun-Sin.

Ladies' Special: Tongin Market

I have always been fascinated with Korean Street Food that's why that was the first thing on my "to-do" (or shall I say, to-eat) list when I first visited the country.

It has always been Myeongdong for me for Streetfood but I'm glad I joined in the Korea Tourism Organization Ladies' Tour with fellow media partners and we had our own tour guide to bring us to another unique way to enjoy Korean Street Food - via Lunchbox using Old Korean Currency.

Tongin Market

This market dates back to June 1941.  According to our guide, the market consists of more than 75 stores in which you can try out authentic Korean Food, you can even buy fresh fruits and vegetables and even manufactured goods like shoes and clothing.

Here's what to do if you are a first-time visitor at Tongin Market.
Go straight to the "cashier" section wherein you pay 5,000KRW and you receive 10 brass coins (coins with hole that olden times use) which can be exchanged for various food.  1 coin is equivalent to 500KRW and most food costs around 1,000KRW to 2,000KRW.

My Ladies' Special Experience in Seoul, Korea (Part 1)

Ever wonder what a #LadiesSpecial tour is?
In the first place, I didn't know such tour can exist and how fun it can be!  But truth is, this tour can be called a Ladies' Special but if you give it a little tweak, this can be a tour for everyone!

When Cebu Pacific, JG Summit Holdings Inc and Korea Tourism Organization invited me together with 8 other Media, Blogger and Vlogger friends, I knew I had to say yes because this is the chance of a lifetime for me to go back to Seoul! The last time I visited the city was five years ago and I vouched to ho back! Thank God it finally happened!

So what can you expect when you travel with Ladies?  It's a mixture of Fun, Girl-themed tours with loads of "Oppa talks"! I'm glad they inserted Cultural Tours which is very important for me whenever I travel.

Shall we start?

Will You Go For AirBNB on your Next Travel Destination?

My partner in makeup gigs Kim recently messaged me to ask about places to stay in Hong Kong, I haven't been traveling much since having a son but I would say, when it comes to Hong Kong, it feels like my second home!  Why?  Because I used to work in Shenzhen for 2.5 years and going to Hong Kong via ferry takes only 30 minutes (yes, even faster than my travel time here!)  So I usually de-stress by going to Hong Kong alone midday or spend a weekend with my brother.  And of course, Mr. AMW and I traveled quite a number of times in Hong Kong that's why I'm claiming our "expertise" in this country.

When it comes to places to stay in Hong Kong, I have tried staying in Hotels (company paid) for business meetings and trainings.  But when it comes to personal trip, I would always go for the cheaper route because hey, Hong Kong, especially Causeway Bay is a city that never sleeps!  So I'm obviously out most of the time and need just a couple of hours to rest my legs and eyes before I head on to another adventure!  So saving up on the place to stay and use the remaining travel fund for more adventures like sightseeing, visiting the parks, eat local food and the works.

#TravelMore with Smart Postpaid Surf Abroad

I recently attended an event for Smart Postaid Surf Abroad hosted by Luis Manzano and Bianca Valerio.  It was when both hosts shared about their favorite destination --- Japan, brought me back to my first ever Tokyo Japan trip.

That's me looking flabbergasted (even on back view) because it is really confusing trying to navigate yourself from one point to another especially in different language!

#SeizeTheSummer and Win a Trip for 3 to Bali, Indonesia!

New AMW readers probably do not know that I used to be a Vaseline Girl and I still am!
Several years ago, one of my biggest project as a blogger was Vaseline Road Trip of  A Lifetime, you can read more about my entries HERE.

That's why when I got an invite for a launch of Vaseline Healthy White's newest product, I had to clear up my schedule and go!  Seriously, this brand is dear to my heart not only because they made me a Vaseline girl in the past, but I actually used Healthy White and finished up Nth number of tubes!

At the launch, I was greeted with this table set up...ahh Summer is definitely here!

The star product was there, up close and I gave it a test right away!  Thank Lord they didn't change the scent!  The scent brought me back to so much good memories!

Smart Tips During Travel

Just for laughs...I thought of creating a short "comic strip" of us during our most recent travel in the US last March.

I checked my email and saw a nice promo from Smart Communications called ALL-Day Surf Abroad.  I thought of sharing this to my fellow Smart subscribers who plan to travel and wanted to keep their friends updated through Instagram, Facebook and Twitter.

The moment we landed San Francisco Airport, I went to purchase a US Sim Card immediately with internet plans.  The guy who picked us up immediately exclaimed to me that I shouldn't purchase one because it is double the price as compared to purchasing it in the city.  As much as I would love to save up, who can wait until they get into the city and wait until the next day (as I arrived midnight) to let my family know I'm safe through Whatsapp?  NOT ME!

And since I get a lot of queries on how I deal with internet connection when I travel, well here's the best solution so you don't have to worry about bill shock.

AMW Reports: #Benetease in San Francisco

Hi everyone!
I am sharing a piece of what happened on why I was invited to be at San Francisco 2 weeks ago!
Press people and makeup artists from around 40 countries were invited to take part of Benefit's biggest and grandest launch to date!  I have to apologize as early as now as you won't see in this blog post what the grand launch is about as it is TOP secret until May 1st!  But I can't hide my excitement with the newest product coming out in the market and I can't thank God enough on how perfect the product is for ME and for my clients!

Okay, I have to stop myself as I may spill the beans!

The event was held at the posh Bentley San Francisco Showroom and I'll tell you more about what happened as you read on...

The scene reminds me of Matrix the movie

Tip for the Day: Travel with Baby

Happy Tuesday AMW Friends!
I'm right here, sitting in my friend's dining room enjoying a cup of Decaf on a cold weather!  The weather is really nice and cool here in San Francisco and I can't believe a week has passed and the AMW family is heading off to Los Angeles early morning!

Well, the moment you're reading this, I'm already in LA so don't forget to follow me on Instagram (@AskMeWhats) for updates! :)

A lot of my friends and readers who have babies are emailing me to ask how it is to travel with a baby!  Seriously speaking, this is one of the most challenging (and tiring) trip me and Mr. AMW encountered, but of course, I'm glad a bit of research and a lot of "mother's instincts" helped us in making this trip a tad bit smoother for both us and the baby!

I'm sure there are more tips along the way but while it is still fresh on my mind, I'm definitely sharing some of the really effective tips and tricks I've done that worked!

Pack a separate bag for all baby essentials
I originally planned to carry only 2 bags for all our stuff, good thing I've decided to pack a 'smaller' check-in luggage bag and filled it all up with baby essentials!  Seriously, for such a tiny person, they get LOADS of stuff to bring!

Don't hesitate to bring day and night clothes!  Always check the weather before you leave and make sure to keep your baby warm on a country with colder season.  What I do is that I separate tops and bottoms, bring a LOT of diapers and baby bottles.  As for the smaller items like socks, bibs and towels, I separate them in Zip Lock bags so it will be easier for us to grab the items we need without rummaging through a huge luggage for a small item!
