Kumori x Theo & Philo Signature S'mores Tarts

Introducing, a collaboration between my favorite Japanese Bakery Kumori and Theo & Philo Artisan Chocolates, they merged their specialty into melt-in-your-mouth Signature S'mores Tarts.

These tarts are crunchy tart shells filled with 65% dark chocolate ganache topped with torched whipped marshmallow frostings.

I personally do not like marshmallows so I don't have any expectation from this dessert.  But it was love at first bite.  I believe Kumori when the brand says #BiteIntoClouds because it felt like it.  I was surprised a finished a cup of tart immediately and it tastes even better (IMHO) when chilled!

You may order yours via Kumori Delivery Apps at Grabfood, Lalafood, Metromart or Foodpanda!

Jamie's Artisan Blooms Edible Cheesecake Snowglobes

How beautiful are blooms that can be eaten?
I remember how my mom would say: "Don't waste money on flowers, they will be thrown to the trash, better spend on food!"

Why not give her both?
A beautiful bloom that can be eaten?

I was recently introduced to Jamie's Artisan Blooms who was born because of lockdown!  Would you believe the business started a little bit after Mother's Day?  Yes, I get all those background information because the "baker" herself is my schoolmate.

Jamie's Artisan Blooms Edible Cheesecake Snowglobes

It started because of her love for Art (she has always been talented, working closely with brands for collabs) and here she was.  Even she herself was surprised on getting into food business!

But for a newbie like her, I would say she is a perfect example of giving chances to EVERYONE.  Who would've thought someone who really isn't professional in the kitchen would come up with products looking more than professional?  I mean just look at these!  These are made with care and extreme talent but at the end of the day - food is food.  I have to taste these and let you know my thoughts....

Weekend Food Trip: Oh Em Gie Cupcakes

If you love cupcakes but disliked the super sweet or over the top sugary type...join MY  Cupcake Club.

Over the whole duration of quarantine, I craved for a specific type of cupcake so many times, ordered online more than 5 times and I never get to taste the cupcake I really wanted.

Until that day when good friend Jowly :P  sent me a box of Oh Em Gie! Kitchen Cupcakes.

One of the most beautifully curated box of cupcakes I've seen so far.  And that's not all!  I was floored with the various flavors they offer!

6 different batters for the adventurous food lover in me!

  1. Pina Colada
  2. Cookies and Cream
  3. Peanut Butter with Choco
  4. S'mores
  5. Peaches and Cinnamon
  6. White Chocolate and Rose

After taking a bite on each cupcake, cleaning my palate in between with a good cup of black coffee.  I knew that White Chocolate and Rose won the top spot!  Cookies and Cream came in second and the rest, I just don't want to stress about it anymore, I just want to say, they taste unique, refreshing and yummy!

Go ahead, indulge yourself and make sure to indulge with quality :D

Next bake schedule is September 5, 2020.

GROM Gelato Finally in The Philippines!

I may not be into sweets but on rare days, I do crave for a good helping of ice cream - GELATO in particular!

So when I heard GROM gelato is officially launching in Manila, I clearned my schedule and tried this gelato fresh from ITALY!

GROM gelato was founded in Italy in 2002 by friends Guido Martinetti and Federico Grom in the hopes of creating the best gelato in the world. After realizing how a great many gelaterias no longer made gelato the way it used to be made--without the use of artificial colouring, aromas, and emulsifiers, the duo committed to creating GROM gelato the way traditional Italian gelaterias used to make gelato – with pure, authentic, and Italian craftmanship.

Pure speaks of the way every tub of GROM is made. The brand uses raw, naturally sourced materials, either from their own organic farm Mura Mura or from one of their partner suppliers from around the world. Each raw ingredient is meticulously sourced to ensure the most delicious flavor and beautiful colour possible for each pint. Once sourced, these ingredients are mixed without altering their natural flavor and color. GROM prides itself in the fact that it uses only the purerest ingredients.

Midweek Special: Graham Sylvanas Recipe

I am not a "sweets" person, the list of my favorite desserts are less than my 10 fingers and none of them are the super sweet ones!

One dessert me and my brother loved to share are Sylvanas.  We would "gift" each other 2-3pcs of Sylvanas way back when we were still students because we are "on a budget".  You know how pricey these little piece of heaven could get.

Fast forward to today, as I am starting to be back with my "cooking grind" (Hello Kyle Nash on 1st Grade!), my food planning and preparation skills went "topnotch"!  - in my dictionary anyways.  So when I got myself some M.Y. San Grahams goodies, I quickly planned for a Mango Graham Cake because I LOVE mangoes!  Unfortunately, ripe mangoes aren't in season so I went for Graham Sylvanas as this is one of my few favorite desserts!  I didn't pick this at first because feeling ko ang hirap gawin!

Hindi naman pala!

So are you ready to see my step-by-step "Photo-torial" on how I created this yummy dessert?

Weekend Food Trip at: Flatterie and Rita's

Our weekends are pretty simple.  I spend it mostly with the family - Husband's family, My Family and Our Family.

So every minute of the day counts --- we try to make sure Kyle gets to enjoy childhood as much as he can because he's been studying 5 days of the week --- school Mondays to Fridays so we make it a point for him to enjoy over the weekend.

Kyle, just like the parents, live simply...a simple bonding time with Mom and Dad with good food and ice cream (of course!) is his idea of "Best day of my life!"

Awww look at that excited face! Matitiis ba namin?

We love Pound and right beside Pound is a newly opened restaurant (well for us!) named Flatterie located at SM Mall of Asia.  You can order from both menus no matter where you sit.

Krispy Kreme Red Velvet Cheesecake and Matcha Doughnuts

Every after study time or activity time, Kyle would exclaim: "Reward please, snack please!".
I guess he got that in me, food as language of Love.  So in my household, I can feed a family of 3!  I have stocks of various snacks because - we may never know when the call arises!

I LOVE Krispy Kreme doughnuts, the Original Glazed is still the perfect doughnut for me no matter how many brands have been popping up everywhere!  So when I got these colorful Red and Green doughnuts for the year 2019, I let me calorie-counting slide and tasted them all!  With Kyle of course and Mr. AMW!

Matcha Doughnuts in Classic, Pistachio and Macadamia

I don't have a sweet tooth so I find the Red Velvet Cheesecake to be too sweet for my liking, but Kyle loved it a lot.  As for me, I may not be a fan of anything Matcha but this one surprised me the most!  With the right combination of sweet and bitter taste, I am actually craving for one right now as of typing!  I can't pick a favorite as I love all 3 variants!

Magnolia Ice Cream Best of the Philippines' Collection

With the recent winning of Catriona Gray as Ms. Universe 2018, I can't help but look up to her for always putting up the Philippine Flag wherever she goes!  From her dress to her earrings down to all her answers during the competition, she raised our flag with Pride and I can't help but do the same in my own little way.

Get the Best of the Philippines Ice Cream Collection for Christmas season!

I have my favorites - Macapuno, Ube, Cheese, Mango, they are all part of my childhood, but what excites me with this collection is how Magnolia mixes things up with a special ingredient for that special twist.

Let's talk about my favorite of them all --- Mango Dark Chocolate.  I love the "bringing back to memory lane mango flavor" with an added bitter sweet taste of dark chocolate.  Who would've thought chocolates and mangoes would go well together?

Then there's UBE Keso, I always pick Ube and Keso whenever I see Mamang Sorbetero right outside Kyle's school.

Fuwari Cheese Cup by Kumori Review

So this is how it feels like to #BiteIntoClouds .

Well, I'm sure clouds are tasteless but not with Fuwari Cheese Cups by Kumori, let me tell you early as now --- it is a scoop-full of Happiness!  (Seryoso)

Kumori won my heart when my sister-in-law gifted me Kumori's Special Hanjuku Cheese.  I never looked back and seriously, no other brand comes close as of the moment.

So when I saw the buzz online about Kumori's newest addition to the family - the Fuwari Cheese Cup, I knew I have to (literally) dip my fingers and spoon to it!

According to Kumori ---
"This velvety cheese souffle paired with a crunchy biscuit base is sure to be the perfect pick-me-up, no matter what mood you're in."

Tokyo Milk Cheese Factory Cow Cow Ice Is Here!

If you've been to Japan or have friends who've been to Japan, you've probably heard or seen people ask for "pasalubong" in a form of Tokyo Milk Cheese Factory.

I was lucky enough to try this way before it arrived our country because... "pasalubong" !  #lol

So once I heard it's finally here, I was so happy because I don't need to save up on each pack (or box) and just go ahead and satisfy my cravings!

Just when I thought I'm satisfied with the fact that the cookies are here, with choices of Salt and Camembert, Honey and Gorgonzola, Porcini and Gouda.

Weekend Desserts: Pellegrino's Heart Shaped Cherry Cheesecake

Remember my No-Bake Blueberry Cheesecake post from Pellegrino's?
Guess what?  They made something special for the month of Hearts --- also my birth month!  Yay!

So this box was delivered to my home one super tiring and busy workday...

Then THIS....
Pellegrino's Heart-Shaped Cherry Cheesecake.
"Oh No!  I'm not a fan of cherries!"  -- I told myself.  But it does look extremely delicious!  I had to wait for my mom-in-law to arrive for her to eat the "extra cherries" for me.

Then I decided..I can't wait!

Weekend Dessert: Pellegrino's Blueberry Cheesecake

Pellegrino's may sound familiar to some of you who works at PhilamLife Tower in Paseo de Roxas Makati.  Well, whatever you're thinking...you are right!

Pellegrino's full name is Pellegrino's Roasted Chicken Station and they have been serving roasted chickens, pork BBQ, Liempo and several side dishes from baked macaroni, coleslow, potato salad, corn to eggplant salad and a lot more!  And they've been around for 4 years so I'm not surprised when the owners decided to expand.  From food station, they also serve packed meals and party platters to companies and individuals.

YES, I know all this because the owner is my friend's sister!

Over the weekend, they delivered this wonderful Pellegrino's No Bake Blueberry Cheese Cake to our house and boy was I amazed on how different this taste from gazillions of Blueberry Cheese Cakes I've tried!  And I mean it!  (not because she's a sister of a friend)

The Blueberry Cheese Cake from Pellegrino's is not too sour nor too sweet.  I was told they use Pure Cream Cheese and no "extenders" were used so you get 100% pure goodness.  On every bite, you get a hint of "tangy cream cheese flavor" with the fluffiness of a whipped cream.  What sets this apart from other brands?  The Crust!  The crust is not the usual crushed graham crackers, instead, it is made with biscuits, cashew nuts for that unique "nutty" texture and flavor.
