Weekend Food Trip at: Black Scoop Cafe

The first time I tried Black Scoop Cafe was a Latte drink that Mr. AMW bought me after a late dinner at U.N. Avenue.  I was so into the drink I took note on the brand and thought of going back to that same branch.

Fast forward to a few weeks after, I had my usual facial at The Facial Care Centre Morato Branch, as I was leaving the building, I saw a Black Scoop Cafe branch and decided to have my usual cup of coffee!  But I was greeted with a long list of drinks instead and I ended up buying 6 Brown Sugar Lattes and made everyone at home happy!

Then when Mr. AMW and I went out on a date, I've decided to bring him back at the same Black Scoop branch and try out their food because my good friend Marj has been raving about them!

Aside from Milk Tea and Snacks, they also serve soft-served ice cream, breakfast meals, fruit tea and even hot chocolate!

So this is our order and I had to share my milk tea with Mr. AMW as I just ordered and drank 1 a day before!  This time we tried Cream Cheese Milk Tea and it tastes sinfully good!

Mom & Tina's Timog Review

I have been to Mom & Tina's on several occasions.
First time was for work - a shoot, so I really didn't eat that much.
The next few times, I visited the Timog branch with me and my family!  Brought my dad there so many times too because he liked the food and ambiance.

After almost a year, I finally returned, this time with my good friends Jals and Andrea because Jals came back from the US and it's a perfect "tita-bonding" place because they open up early, they have parking spaces, they serve good breakfast and lunch...and most of all, they have yummy desserts!

It was the longest time for me to stay in a restaurant, Kyle's class was suspended so I brought him with me and stayed there for good 4 hours .

Mango Kani Salad
Php335.00
Crispy lettuce with a good serving of kani sticks and ripe mangoes.  Really delicious.  If like me you're not a fan of mayonnaise, maybe ask them to serve the dressing on the side.

Beef Stroganoff
Php270.00
Okay, I asked for this, I wanted a cream based pasta and the server recommended me this, I'm not a fan of beef strips on pasta (bacon girl here!)  but yeah, my yaya loved this so it is just a matter of taste!

Caerus Specialty Coffee + Bistro Review + Kyle's 6th

Kyle turned 6 this week!  It was a last minute decision to book a table at Caerus Specialty Coffee + Bistro  located at Tomas Morato.

It was a very simple yet successful and happy dinner with both AMW families!

We dined at Caerus Coffee once and was impressed by the various food offerings.  Coming from someone who has been to a LOT of coffee shops in the Metro, Caerus Coffee is one of the few who offers more than pastas and sandwiches.  Because our first dining experience was great, we've decided to book in this restaurant!

Note: They have a function room available for you to book with a minimum of consumable fee.  Call them to check out the said rate!

Potato Chips
Php125.00
Fresh thin cut chips served with tartar sauce

One of the Best Family Restaurant - Relish

If there's one restaurant that's always full but I still don't mind going to, there is one and it's RELISH, HELLO HAPPINESS!

Seldom can you find me in crowded restaurants because I dislike noise and I dislike waiting in line to the core (hahaha).

But this restaurant, Relish, located to Tomas Morato, for some reason, gives me a sense of comfort and happiness!  True to what they say, it is Hello Happiness when you get into the restaurants.

There are some probably reasons why ---

  • The place is always packed with groups of friends and family (mostly family which I love!)
  • People aren't as noisy and rowdy, so the buzz is just right!
  • FOOD!  Food is great and that's all that matters.
  • Ambiance deserves thumbs up!   Though crowded, tables are well distributed so you don't get bumped into other people when you go to the washroom.

I celebrated my birthday with my highschool friends here last year and I've been back so many times I lost count!  But they never fail!  If you haven't dined in this restaurant, what are you waiting for?

My Top 3 favorites, well I missed Beef Salpicao here so instead, I changed it to Grilled Pork Belly.

Weekend Food Trip at: Ludo Boardgame Bar and Cafe

I've been to Ludo Boardgame Bar and Cafe thrice in total and I can't understand why I haven't taken a full shot of the restaurant itself!  I guess we were so excited to play games and enjoyed so much we forgot to take photos!  But to those who follow me on #AMWIgstories probably seen how we played games!

Located at the heart of Tomas Morato, QC, this is a Boardgame place where they house 100 of games, at the same time, you can also purchase boardgames there!

If you don't know how to play a certain game?  Fret not, there is a game master there to help you out, he is so friendly and I love the ambiance!  You see friends, families dining there not looking at their phones, instead, they are bonding with real-life games!'

Let's talk about the food, unlike other Bar and Cafes, they legitly offer good food!  I love their nachos!  One of the best so far I've tried in the Metro.

We also had our dinner there so we tried out some of their main dishes.

Parmesan Fries with Truffle
Php280.00
This isn't a winner for us because they put a bit too much Parmesan that I can't seem to taste the Truffle flavor!  :)

Classic Spaghetti Bolognese
Php280.00
Not bad, very meaty and sauce-y spaghetti dish that we Filipinos love (meaning, it has a hint of sweetness to it!)

Weekend Food Trip at: Belleville Cafe

Ever getting married, I make sure to free up my weekends for both families (mine and Mr. AMW's).  And because of that, I always try to search for new cafes and restaurants just to bond and catch-up.  I love Cafe Restaurants more because of the quiet vibe plus I can enjoy a good cup of coffee after a hearty meal.

One resto-cafe that caught my attention is called Belleville Cafe, located at Tomas Morato, it wasn't difficult to search as long as you have Waze and it was a perfect "bonding" experience with my family because we got the place to ourselves!

The ambiance is very cozy and homey and you get to see books and magazines where you can actually read and borrow.  The only unique part is that, you need to go out to order outside (and pay) and to use the washroom, you literally have to pass through the "order area" and go into someone else's home!  *lol*  It wasn't an issue for me because you felt like you're staying at a friend's place for dinner!

Now, what about the food?  They serve mostly coffee, pasta and sandwiches but they also serve some hot dishes!

Korean BBQ Beef on Rice
Php245.00

Weekend Food Trip at: Blue Rocket Cafe + Kitchen

I dine out a lot!  Not because I'm lazy to cook but that's how I bond with my parents and my parents-in-law!  Because I tend to eat out a lot especially on weekends, I am actually very aggressive in searching for new restaurants! (Hello Booky, Zomato, Munchpunch, etc...!)

When I got o my parents' place, I usually search for restaurants either Manila area or Quezon City.  One restaurant that caught my attention is called Blue Rocket Cafe + Kitchen located at Diliman QC.

Why this place?  Well, whenever I'm with my mom and dad, I want to make sure the place is not crowded, spacious enough for my dad's wheelchair and quiet enough for us to catch up!

Blue Rocket Cafe + Kitchen fits the bill!

Chicken Wings
Php195.00
You can choose between Spicy Buffalo, Salt and Pepper, Pesto Parmesan and Honey Garlic and we went for the latter because it's the safest and my parents aren't into spicy food!  This is a crunchy chicken wing that is quite flavorful and tender on the inside.

Baked Spicy Korean Chicken Rice
Php265.00
Spicy and sweet Korean-seasoned rice topped with chicken thighs and melted cheese.  The rice itself is extremely flavorful yet spicy!  I actually enjoyed this dish so much I went for...

the exact same order on my 2nd visit.

Seoul Train Korean BBQ Restaurant Review

If you follow all my "Weekend Food Trips", you'll know my favorite dish is....KOREAN!
So when my good friend is coming back for a short vacation, the "barkada" decided to meet up for dinner!  And it was perfect timing that our friend opened up a restaurant at Quezon City called Seoul Train Korean BBQ Restaurant.

Why Seoul Train?  Well, the answer is right at the photo below....the restaurant looks exactly like you're inside a train.

It was a rainy evening so we didn't get the chance to take an outside photo!  But trust me when I say, you won't miss it!  You'll see a cute Green Train with an extremely helpful and friendly guard to lead the way!

Now one thing you have to know is that, seating capacity is limited so it is always better to call in for reservations before you visit the restaurant.  We already have a reservations because we are a big group, but I was a bit early so I enjoyed the ambiance (with choochoo train sounds pa ha!)  while my son enjoys the arcade claw machine!

Weekend Food Trip at Relish at Ponte

So Relish is an "It" place whenever I meet my Smart Telecom family.  That is the Makati branch and I can see they are often full!  Reservations will always be a MUST.  But truthfully, I can never really appreciate the food when I eat in a restaurant for a meeting!  Well, I guess you are so busy talking about something else you can't seem to really appreciate the food.

So when my high school friends wanted to meet up and it was at the same restaurant Relish at Ponte but at the Scout Limbaga branch, would you believe it when I say, it felt like a "First-time-Relish" dining experience?

Amazing Artichoke Dip with Pita and Tostitos
Php300.00
A must when you want an appetizer!  You don't taste the "fishy" artichoke instead, you get the right amount of cream and cheese that explodes in your mouth on every bite.
