Samsam Chikin BOGO Promo!

Hi AMW Friends!

Last week I was sent 5 different flavors of Samsam Chikin to try and let me tell you how I feel about this Korean Chicken from Happyfoods Group —- it was so delicious I ordered again and I am actually eating a “chicken sandwich” right now - yes Samsam Chikin as sandwich also works!

And you want to know why I ordered today within a week of eating all these?  Their OPENING PROMO: BOGO CHICKEN!

Buy 1 Boneless Medium Chicken and Get 1 Free.

It could get confusing to some of you that’s why I’ve decided to write a post about it.  Their MEDIUM CHICKEN is actually a box of 4 pcs chicken as seen on photo below and you get a full box of 4 pcs chicken for FREE if you order a box (Maximum of 3 boxes) starting September 27-October 3 ONLY!

Just in case it gets confusing for you on what to get —- GET THEM ALL!  I am serious when I say they all tastes so good and all the flavors have a unique taste to it you must try them all!

Honey Soy

Savory with an asian twist.

Yangnyeom
Sweet, spicy and nutty flavor glazed with gochujiang, garlic and other spices.
Mild spicy so it works for me!

Gochujiang
Spicy red and bold made with Korean Chili Paste.
And I thought this would be my least favorite as I can’t seem to handle spicy food nowadays (Blame it on gerd!), I was so surprised this was my TOP CHOICE.  A must try talaga and the spicy level is not bad!  It is spicy, yet but it has a combination of sweetness making this a perfect rice partner (and SOJU!)

Weekend Food Trip at: Song Do Won

"The easiest way to a man's heart is through his stomach."
That's what they say.  I agree with that, but it has to be a combination of STOMACH, HEART and MIND.

I make it a point to surprise Mr. AMW even after 22 years of being together (11 years as BF/GF and 11 years as husband and wife).

Whenever I pass by his office going to work, I try to make time and effort to surprise visit him and lunch time is no exception!  I love it that his office is nearby a lot of good restaurants and I pulled him out from his busy day and had lunch with him and our little boy!

Since we both love Korean Food, we tried Song Do Won, a Korean Restaurant a couple of walks away from his office and it is open 24 hours!

Just like any Korean restaurants, they serve appetizers for free!  I love their choices, I love the Fish Tofu, the Potato Croquettes and Potato Balls!  Even their Kimchi is perfect!  The right spiciness I was craving for!

They also serve Steamed Egg which is Mr. AMW's favorite!  He can eat bowl after bowls!

How You Can Enjoy Your BonChon Experience?

So I had a K-tastic day last August 1st with fellow "Foodie Bloggers" Abet, Berylle and Farrah!  We all my have different niche in Blogging but we all have the same interest --- FOOD!

It was a K-tastic day with BonChon at Ayala The 30th!  It was a first for me to visit the mall and it was even better that I get to dine at a restaurant that made me love Chicken Wings!

Yes, I'm a "chicken breast" girl and BonChon changed the way I look at "wings".  I remembered several years ago, when BonChon first opened its' door, I lined up for a box of Chicken Wings and I almost didn't talk to my husband on our way home as I was munching 1 chicken wing at a time leaving nothing but bones behind.

And when this pile of BonChon K-Style Chicken was served right in front of me, it made me smile and brought me back to many good memories!

Several years after, their recipe didn't change!  I still get the well-loved crunchy chicken on the outside, tender juicy chicken meat on the inside!

Weekend Food Trip at: Yoree Korean Dining

One of my favorite Korean restaurant is located quite far from where I live, well, not exactly far, but considering traffic situation, it takes minimum 1.5 hours to get there!  So when Mr. AMW and I had the chance to "date" on a weeknight with Kyle, I took the opportunity to take them to Yoree Korean Dining.  Because I've dined in this restaurant so many times, all thanks to AGC for celebrating 3 years of Christmas parties in this particular restaurant so I can proudly say, I've tried almost 90% of their menu and all of the dishes received 2 thumbs up from me!  And I'm a picky Korean dish eater guys!  So that is POSITIVE enough!

Just like any Korean Restaurant, you will be greeted with appetizers as you wait for your order.  The congee is TDF (To die for!).

Gyeran Mari
Php248.00
Rolled omelette stuffed with melted cheddar cheese topped with bonito flakes.

Mr. AMW is a fan of anything made with "eggs".  Since this is quite new to me as well, we've decided to give this a try and it was a lovely surprise!  The bonito flakes add up to the unique taste of cheddar cheese.  I didn't know they would work well together, but with this dish, it was proven to be a successful partnership :)

Seoul Train Korean BBQ Restaurant Review

If you follow all my "Weekend Food Trips", you'll know my favorite dish is....KOREAN!
So when my good friend is coming back for a short vacation, the "barkada" decided to meet up for dinner!  And it was perfect timing that our friend opened up a restaurant at Quezon City called Seoul Train Korean BBQ Restaurant.

Why Seoul Train?  Well, the answer is right at the photo below....the restaurant looks exactly like you're inside a train.

It was a rainy evening so we didn't get the chance to take an outside photo!  But trust me when I say, you won't miss it!  You'll see a cute Green Train with an extremely helpful and friendly guard to lead the way!

Now one thing you have to know is that, seating capacity is limited so it is always better to call in for reservations before you visit the restaurant.  We already have a reservations because we are a big group, but I was a bit early so I enjoyed the ambiance (with choochoo train sounds pa ha!)  while my son enjoys the arcade claw machine!

Weekend Food Trip at: Leann's Teahouse, QC

Every weekend, we dine with my family!  And once I told Mr. AMW to help me look for a new restaurant we haven't tried!  Usually, we ended up dining at the "usual places" and that weekend, I wanted something unique, something new!  And of course, the restaurant has to have High Chair!  (seriously, no yaya when going out would understand that!)

The kind hubby went online and searched for best restaurants near my parents' place!  And he found Leann's Teahouse!  Gave the restaurant a call, booked for reservation + high chair...and the rest was tummy-filling history!  Love you Mr. AMW!

The name Leann's Teahouse sounded like a Chinese restaurant!  The waiter agreed!  hahaha But once you get in, you'll know its an authentic Korean Restaurant because I can literally smell yummy pork sizzling on grill and Kimchi!

Now what made us booked for this restaurant?  Eat-All-You-Can Korean BBQ Samgyeopsal (grilled pork belly) and Woosamgyeop (grilled beef belly).  But to those who aren't as carnivorous as I am, you can always go for a la carte meals!  They have so many choices to choose from!

Fried Mandu
Php140.00
Usual tasting dumplings but it's nice to order especially when you're hungry!

Weekend Food Trip at Mak Chang Restaurant

Funny how I do some research on my own Blog and realized I've dined in the same restaurant (different branch)!  It was exactly 4 years ago when I first dined at a Korean Restaurant at Ermita called Mak Chang!  Fast forward to today, we've decided to go for an authentic Korean dish because...we missed Korean food!  We went for Mak Chang Korean Restaurant this time at the Diosdado Macapagal Branch.

The restaurant is a bigger yet the set up is exactly the same as their mother branch.  (Read about my experience at Mak Chang Ermita in this blog post)

Because we were extremely hungry!  We've decided to go for 2 orders of Pork Galbi (Php300.00/ order) and 1 order of Samkyupsal (Php300.00)

Weekend Food Trip at Mak Chang Korean Restaurant

Happy April Fools' Day!!!

Ah, Sunday!  A good rest day for me before I head off for another busy week!  It's the week of the Holy week!  What are your plans?  I will be off to a vacation with Mr. AMW and I will definitely tell you more about it once we get there! *winks*

Today, it's a Sunday so it's weekend food tripping post day!  Ahhh, another Korean restaurant post!  A lot of our friends knew how much Mr. AMW and I enjoy Korean dishes, a lot of them would recommend to us some "hidden gems" I'm glad they did, as we usually end up with great experiences as well!

The restaurant was located right across Robinson's Place Ermita, once we got in, we were guided to our table and I looked around and saw a lot of Korean customers enjoying their food!  As we waited for menu, we were asked to look at the simple "huge menu" right on the wall and the uniqueness of this Korean restaurant as compared to the rest?

Their very simple menu!  No bibimbap or jjyampong available!  We were guided by the servers by translating the meaning of some of the dishes written in Korean language.

We were able to choose 2 types of meat (minimum order) and as we waited for our meat to arrive.  I looked around and I'm glad they have exhaust pipe for cooking pleasure!  Everything was clean by the way!

On to the free appetizers...
