Askmewhats Version: "Truffle" Look

Happy weekend beauties!
Tee hee...
What can I say? I played with make-up once again!
The Neutral lover does another neutral look with a bit of twist!
To those who wonder about the effect of the Coastal Scents Truffle Gel Liner...
Well this look is dedicated and inspired by this gel liner! :)

I've always wanted to create a thick line, but using black makes my eye really strong and would probably look great on night look. Since I got the CS Truffle Gel Liner, I can go for thick line anytime of the day! And a quick feedback, the first time I've done the thick line, my colleague Phia asked me if I wore any contacts as the color of my eye looks different! It's definitely the effect of this liner! Weee.... Contacts without contacts *winks*

Here's the final look
(warning: It could bore you to death lol)

If you can see closely, on the line itself, there's some glitters, I actually top it with NYX Glitter liner in Silver
(it's more glittery in person)

Askmewhats Diagram time!

1. Using an eyeshadow brush from Smashbox, pat on the gold e/s color from Prestige Quad.

2. Using a denser shadow brush, pat on any medium brown colored eyeshadow on the crease area. I used Stage e/s Mono in Macchiato (thanks Syen and Kahani for this)

3. Apply CS Gel Liner in Truffle using my Smashbox liner brush, (or any brush you're comfortable with), apply as thick as you want.

Optional: Apply NYX glitter liner in silver on top of the truffle

4. Highlight your brow bone with any light e/s, in my case, I've used Eyeko Pretty Eyes in white (Use Code E149 for Free Gift!!!)

And here's the final eye look! :)

Products used on the rest of the face ----

  • The Body Shop Nature's Mineral Foundation in Shade 2
  • MAC Shadester to contour
  • Arezia blush no. 4

  • Paul & Joe Curly Mascara in Brown (02)
  • Eyeko Fat Balm top with Artdeco gloss
  • Eyeko Pretty eyes to highlight the face

------------------------------------------------

Another surprise when I got home! A Christmas gift from The Body Shop USA
I checked on their site and it's called the Seasonal Body Butter Bonanza
I currently own an Aqua Lily Treasure Box and I just realized my TBS skin care is growing!

Thanks for reading! :)
Don't forget to stay happy and you'll be happy!
God bless!

AMW Reviews: Skin79 VIP Gold Collection Super Beblesh Balm

Are you into BB Creams?
I know I am!
I told myself I won't fall into the hype, but gosh!
Since I got samples from Tine (Missha and SkinFood)
I got hooked to test on more!!!
Tine, I'm not saying you influenced me...well actually...uhm..YOU DID! lol

You've seen my previous review on the BRTC Cover BB Cream,
and one reader commented that BRTC Cover BB cream works as a concealer, it was actually a great comment, I tested on it again this time covering only on undereye circles and breakouts, but I would say, it works better if I apply it thinly over my face, as the coverage of BRTC Cover BB Cream is really light to medium.

I am drifting! hahaha Do not worry, I'll definitely do a Revisits as soon as I finish it.

SO.....

Let me continue, I told myself if I got more comparison on BB creams, I can shut up and go on with my bb cream-less life! :D
Introducing....

My Skin 79 VIP Gold Collection Super Beblesh Balm BB Cream
(and it's not just BB Cream --- it's SUPER BB cream yawwww!!!)

Skin 79 VIP Gold Collection Super Beblesh Balm says ---
(from the box, I retyped it for all of you!)

It is 3 effects functional beblesh balm. By Adenosine and Arbutin ingredients which are effective in whitening, wrinkles improvement cultivate more bright and elastic skin. Intercept ultraviolet rays UVA and UVB at the same time and protect your skin exposed from the sun more thoroughly.

Abundant nutrition of Gold and Caviar extract cares skin intensively to make shiny, healthy skin.

Osmopur ingredient of new concept which are Mined Sunflower, Rice Bran, Ivy Extracts protect skin from various harmful conditions. Phyto Complex ingredient which is good for skin moisturizing and soothing makes your skin always moist and healthy.

This products has excellent cover function by composition of make up base and foundation. It corrects your irregularly different skin tones naturally. At the same time by use of find and soft texture porosity powder is excellent for your skin adhesion and sebum control.

This is a W/S shape which is good for skin affinity and it make your skin light, soft and flawless all day long.

Directions:

Use it proper quantity on the area of your face like patting at the last step of skincare.

Weight:

40g

Askmewhats says ---

Pros

  • has an airy light feeling when applied on skin
  • brightened my skin in an unexplainable way
  • moisturizes my dry skin, it really does
  • has SPF!!!
  • doesn't create a white cast on your face
  • packaging: one of the prettiest packaging I've seen for BB creams
  • I felt rich! I'm putting caviar on my face! lol
Cons
  • The Name!!! Is BEBLESH ---- REALLY????
  • for someone like me who's got dry skin, I find that in midday, I need to re-touch as there's this "moisture" that comes out of my skin. NOT oily-gross type but there's some extra moisture. Overall I would say no oil control (this product did not promise to work as oil control though, so not their fault)
  • not available locally
  • packaging: you cannot see if you still have enough product left
  • I've used this again without moisturizer, it still gets to "oil" a bit in the middle of the day

Overall

I've done research as you all know before purchasing any of the BB creams available in the market. What caught my attention on this product is it's multi-tasking properties of ---
Whitening Moisturizing UV Protecting (both UVA and UVB) and Wrinkle improvement

If these are all true, ain't this the answer to all our prayers for busy women like us.

BUT of course...I have to say it again and again that not everyone has the same skin type, I have read some skin reacts negatively to this product while to some, it works so well on them. I find that looking for skincare / cosmetics is like winning a lottery.

I personally love this product, but I wouldn't say I NEED this, I can skip this step and proceed with my usual make-up application and achieve flawless skin.

How about coverage?

For people with heavy skin problem, this won't cover up scars or acne, after applying the BB cream, you would need an extra step of putting on a concealer. I would say the coverage is definitely Light to medium.

Tips

  • pump a small pea size amount of product and using your fingers, distribute it all over your face
  • do not forget your neck area
  • on days I want a lesser coverage, I use my MAC187 stippling brush to apply this bb cream, works just as well
  • I found out that I do not need moisturizer if using this, to prevent skin oiliness
Will I repurchase?
No, I have enough for now :)

Where can you purchase and how much?

I bought mine from a Korean ebay seller Vivihouse011 for Php969.64 (or $19.99) Free shipping + FREE GIFT! I love it that the free gift I got is what I originally want too! I've been going back on forth to try the pink or the gold edition. The extra Caviar in gold won my heart!

BB Cream Porn Time!!!I love it when I received it sealed and you have to peel off the sticker yourself

This is where the product would come out, have to clean it once in awhile

I do love the packaging!
It comes with a pump jar

Here's how it looks like on my hand A bit grayish to look at

If blended, its more on a pinkish tone

Further Blending, it blends so well that it doesn't look like I have anything on
*please click to enlarge

And here's a Before and After shot

Before shot:
Uneven color, redness due to allergies

After shot:
Skin is more even, minimal redness

Well, that's it! :)
This adds up to my BB Cream review!

If you're planning to purchase one!

Do read reviews and ask questions! :)

Goodluck BB Cream hunting!
Stay Happy!

----------------------------------------

Again, I've got some queries in which I answered directly and I would like to post it here as well so everyone can share their opinions and comments!

Question ---

Is Monistat Chaffing Gel good as primer?

Askmewhats Answers ---

I personally haven't used Monistat Chaffing Gel as I don't have oily skin to start with. I have owned Smashbox Photo Finish Primer Light and Paul & Joe Primer in which I use mostly for clients. My skin isn't oily for me to pile on extra primer.

I have read a lot of raves about the Monistat as primer cause it's cheaper compared to the high end ones and it works as well. But use with discretion as not everything that works well on others will definitely work for you.

But if you're really intrigued and you've got the means to purchase it, why not? Just to satisfy your curiousity and it isn't an expensive query! :)

Question ---

Which is better MMU? EDM or Joppa Minerals?

Askmewhats Answers ---

In my dictionary, I can't tell which is better as being an EDM and Joppa Minerals user (referring to foundation), I've used both alternately. Some days, my skin loves EDM and some days they love Joppa More.

I can do a tiny comparison though:

1. Joppa is definitely creamier and easier to blend, perfect for colder months.
2. EDM gives out a really clean and matte look perfect for the summer.

3. Joppa has heavier coverage, EDM coverage is good too but if you want heavier coverage, you need to re-apply.
4. Joppa has the tendency to oxidize on my skin.
5. EDM samples are free but you have to pay for shipping. Joppa samples aren't free but wait for their free worldwide shipping promo.

Question ---

How do you keep your liner from smudging on the under eyes?

Askmewhats Answers ---

There is no sure-fire way for liners not to smudge especially for us living in a tropical and humid country. I find my Urban Decay 24/7 which everyone raves that do not smudge on them smudges on me! My advise is to use an eye primer and fill in not only the upper eye area but use a "taklon" or "concealer" brush and apply on the under eye area as well.

A brush like this or much better, a smaller head

Question ---

How do you used the stippling brush with cream foundation? Isn't it messy?

Askmewhats Answers ---

I don't find using cream foundation with a stippling brush is messy at all. Here's what I do with my Paul & Joe light cream foundation using my MAC187 Stippling Brush in application.
(note: Remember to sanitize everything before you use them)

What you need ---

A CD that you don't use anymore
A spatula/scooper
MAC187 or any stippling brush/Duo Fiber brush
Any Cream Foundation (in my case I use my Paul & Joe cream foundation)

Scoop out a minimal amount of cream foundation and transfer to the CD
Do not scoop out too much, add as you go along so you won't waste product

Tap on the Stippling/ Duo Fiber Brush and apply on your face
Again, make sure all your tools are sanitized!

Question ---

Hi Nikki, how long does it usually take for your ebay orders to arrive here? I'd like to buy BB cream, but I'm concerned about the waiting time.

Askmewhats Answers ---

Most of my ebay orders arrive in 2-3 weeks max! Most of the bb creams I've ordered are shipped within the day of payment or the next day. Thank goodness I don't have problems with my shipment!

Question ---

Nikki! I need help with mascara! I don't know which one to get at MAC or should I go for other brands? I want volume and length, won't smudge but easy to take off! I heard Fasio is good but is hard to remove.

Askmewhats Answers ---

I've owned and used Fasio 3D airtech mascara and it is really hard to remove!!! I would say it's the best inexpensive mascara I've tried but removing it is really tedious!!! But if you own Lancome Bi-facil, they say it removes any stubborn mascara so you can feel free to purchase Fasio.

If you are very particular with brands, then you can go purchase on the particular brand. When it comes to mascara, I wouldn't mind testing on different brands as that is one product that expires easily and I don't want to shell out too much.

The most expensive mascara I've tried is my Paul & Joe Curly Mascara, and I've used Maybelline's Unstoppable Shiny Black Mascara, both mascara price differs a lot! But I find that Maybelline's work for me as well as Paul & Joe.

Here are some mascaras that I didn't have the chance to review but I've used in the past that's worth looking into.

  • L'oreal Telescopic Mascara (Check out Shen's Review )
  • The Face Shop Freshian Volume/Curly Mascara
Seldom can we find both volumizing and lengthening mascara. What I do is I actually use 2 coats of different mascaras! I get the best of both worlds. It works for me, maybe it will work for you too!

Well, that's it for now!
Humpy Wednesday!
I'm glad!!!
Stay happy!!!
