Askmewhats Version: The Rocker Look

Blog reader Mitch requested for a "rakista" (Tagalog term) or "rocker" look.
Easy right? I can easily pull out a photo for a rocker look like this :D

**photo from promspot.com

But! She had a special request! She wanted me to do a rocker look that doesn't use any black e/s! She felt black e/s makes her look like she got punched on the eye. Plus she wanted a look that can be worn when she goes out during weekends with friends. So I thought of a look that has a "rocker" flavor to it but wearable! :D Hope you like it!

Here's my final look

Askmewhats Diagram time!

Primed my lids with UDPP prior to e/s application :D

Step 1:

Apply NYX Morrocco (sis Gracie, thanks) e/s or any e/s you like to create this Rocker Look. I pat on the color with my small crease brush applying all over the lid going a little bit above it.
Using the same brush, apply the same color on the lashline just below the waterline.

Step 2:

Blend in the colors by using any brown colored e/s on the crease with a big crease brush, blending in the colors. I used Stage e/s in Macchiato. (thanks So Loverly girls)

Step 3:

Pat on the brow bone with a shimmery white e/s. (Yasumi dear, thanks for this)

Step 4:

Apply any creamy eyeliner all over the lashline and smudge it out. Apply this also on the waterline.

Here's my final
non-black e/s

Rocker look :D

And here's what I used on the rest of my face

MAC Mineralize SkinFinish NC35
Mixed with CG Tru Blend no. 1

NYX Blush in Desert Rose
using my Shu Uemura Face brush

And for my lips
since my eye make up in real life is really bright

I opted for nude lips
EYEKO Fat Blam in Touch of Iridiscent Pink
top with CG Wetslicks in Toast-ed

And here's my super final look

Brace yourself
Girl trying to go wild :(

Hope this is helpful!
Don't say I didn't warn you
that I'm no rocker in real life!
But it's nice to do something for a change!
I enjoyed this! Thanks for the request
Stay happy!

Weekend Food Tripping at: Karate Kid + More Birthday Gifts

Hi dearies!!!!
if you are on my twitter, you would know that I had a lovely dinner with my family. It's nice to meet up with them again for a nice dinner. Where did we go? My favorite Korean restaurant ever! :) If you check back to my post here, yes, its the same restaurant. So I am not going to blog about it anymore.

What I'll be talking about for food tripping this weekend is a nice Japanese fast food restaurant that offers variety of dishes at affordable price. Correct me if I'm wrong but they have more than 16 branches to date.

The Karate Kid Restaurant

4 pcs California Maki
Php38.00 (approx less than $1.00)

I am actually not a California Maki lover,
so these 4 went down to other's tummy :)

Beef Ramen
Php89.00 (approx $1.85)

I am craving for something warm,
So I ordered the Beef Ramen which tastes good
It would be better if they have more noodles though

Katsudon Pork with Rice Php105.00 (approx $2.20)

This is my favorite dish at the restaurant
I love the combination of the katsudon pork with egg
and the sauce blended well with the rice.

Chicken Teriyaki with Rice Php130.00 (approx $2.70)

This was originally my favorite
BUT, since I'm allergic to chicken
good bye yummy Chicken Teriyaki

---------------------------

Thanks to my wonderful friend from Australia, she sent me birthday gifts :) Thanks so much for the cute magnetic memo pad, Charles Worthington Take Away Stay Smooth Frizz-Taming Serum, Gap gloss in Black Cherry, Rimmel e/s quad in Smokey Noir and the wonderful message on the card!!!

---------------------------------------

I've got another gift from hubby

I also got a surprising gift from my hubby! Who was sweet enough to keep this a secret eventhough I'm with him ALL THE TIME. He sneaked out while we're not together to buy this gift!

At around 12am of Feb 28, he sneaked in the paperbag with this gift and asked me to open this while he videocam me.

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEKKKKKKKKKKKKK!!!!!

I've been using his laptop everytime he uses the PC, and he knew I find it a bit bulky. I never told him that I want a smaller laptop because I don't want us spending money on something not that important. So sweet! I felt guilty and happy at the same time! lol

Here's to show the size

the bulkiest part of a laptop
is the battery charger

I love it that the battery charger is smaller :D

:D
Spoiled spoiled spoiled!
But it feels good to be one! :P
Have a wonderful week ahead
Stay Happy!

Askmewhats says ---

Pros

  • very affordable
  • does not shed
  • does not bleed
  • very professional looking
  • brush hairs are soft, doesn't hurt the face
  • the length of the brush is perfect for make-up application to oneself and others
  • this brush set has almost everything you need
  • includes a brush holder!
Cons
  • there's not much CON but he Big Face brushes are too soft and not so dense, so it isn't easy to control

Overall

Almost anyone who's studying in a make-up school buy these brushes. Why? Because they work and they're very affordable. I find that these brushes of course cannot be compared to big brush brands like MAC, Smashbox or Shu Uemura, but for it's price, these brushes are definitely worth it. I like it that the brushes are made with care and quality. The hairs are super soft and most of the clients commented how soft the brushes are.

Tips
  • label your brushes especially if you attend gigs that has more than 1 make-up artist.
  • clean not only your brushes but also the brush holder.
  • never put back a dirty brush on the brush holder, it will stain the brush holder (photo below) put them on separate bag or plastic so you don't end up washing all the brushes again and again
  • for face brushes, since they aren't dense enough, you can use your fingers to press the hair closely together for better control
  • always wash your brushes with care
  • wipe your brush holder with wet wipes

Will I repurchase?

I don't need to, but if I need another set in the future, I wouldn't mind ordering from them again.

Where did I purchase and how much?

30 is Sexy! :P

I know some women hate to tell their real age. Me, it doesn't bother me at all! I am actually proud to tell my age because I want people to know how long I've been surviving in this world and letting them know I can still smile as I walk the way, it wasn't an easy one, but it was worth it! :D

My colleagues also gave me a surprise birthday party that I won't forget. (photo above is from the office party, I will tell more about it as soon as I get more photos)

Askmewhats Reviews: Mandom Cleansing Express Agecare

Thanks to the pretty bloggers Fuz, Anne, RenRen, Muse, Nessa
(and a lot more out there, sorry if I forgot to mention).
I've read so many reviews about this famous water-based make-up remover before I've decided to purchase one myself. I blame it to pure curiosity as well and of course my love of removing make-up completely to keep my skin healthy and young-looking! :D

Mandom Cleansing Express
in AgeCare

This cute saying made me smile!
Ready for bed as soon as possible!

Can this be true?

Color looks like mixed starch on water :D

Mandom Cleansing Express Agecare says ---

Removes even point makeups (eye and lips). Simply wipe off after cleansing. Keeps moisture in your skin after wash. Moisturizing cleansing ingredients instantly removes makeups deep in the pores without drying your skin. No rinse necessary. Perfect for sensitive skin. No preservative, no fragrance, no colorant, no alcohol, no oil. Allergy tested.

Cautions: If you have scars or other skin problems, do not use it. If you notice irritation of any irregular skin problems, stop using it immediately and consult a doctor. Be cautious not to have it in your eyes. Do not leave the cotton on your skin for too long. Do not reuse the cotton. Once it is opened, use it immediately. Keep out of reach of children. Do not store in direct sunlight or in high temperature. Do not remove the pump from the container since it does not contain any preservatives.

Available in 3 variants

Sebum - for oily skin
Moist - for dry skin
Age Care - for dry and matured skin (eeekkk!!! ME!)

Askmewhats says ---

Pros

  • Removes all traces of make-up

One Eye First wipe

Back of the cotton Same eye

  • Stopper works great, easy to detach and re-attach
  • Non-oily
  • Does not sting or blur the eye. Please read caution on my tip area :D
  • Quite affordable even with shipping, as you get 300ml of this product for a good price
  • Packaging isn't cheap, made of good plastic and the packaging design is quite cute and simple
  • No allergies after using this product
  • No yucky scent

Cons

  • does not completely remove waterproof mascara
  • though this is an Age Care, I don't see any age care as this doesn't moisturize the face
  • pump isn't feasible, no matter how careful I am in spritzing this to the cotton, the liquid tend to spray straight
  • not available locally

Overall

A lot of bloggers rave about this and call this their HG makeup remover. I can see why as it easily removes ALL traces of make-up! BUT, like I stated at the CON corner, it does not complete remove waterproof mascara. Though the product states "Ready for bed as soon as possible", I find that I still need to wash my face with a facial cleanser to make sure all traces of make-up are removed.

This is a wonderful product for make-up artist though, if you made a mistake, you can easily use this cleanser to wipe it off and re-apply the make-up without having trouble compared to using an oil-based make-up remover.

Tips

  • Caution: If you have scar or allergies on certain area of your face, DO NOT rub the make-up remover, try to go over the face with Mandom but try not to touch the areas that are sensitive, it may cause further allergies or skin reaction. Ex. last week, I have bad eye allergies and I tried using this to wipe some foundation on my under eye area, it HURTS! But after my allergies are gone, I did not find any irritation to this product.
  • I advise wash your face after using this product.
  • To make this product lasts longer, I use this to clean my eye makeup, cheeks and lips. Then wash the whole face with a facial cleanser.
  • Decant the make-up remover to a smaller spray bottle so you won't waste product by spritzing it on another person's shirt! LOL
  • Transferred smaller bottle can be easily brought along, fits my traincase perfectly :)

Philippine Readers:

I know most of you would like to try this product, but since this is not available locally and not everyone has access to online buying, you can always purchase L'oreal Gentle Lip and eye make-up remover. It works just as great and it costs approx Php335.00 (approx $7.00) and I just saw L'oreal booth has 15% off! :) I realized I haven't had the chance to review this make-up remover, I will do soon! :) But it works really well and not oily at all! :D

----------------------------------------

Will I repurchase?

YES!

Where did I purchase and how much

At Adam Beauty for $14.00 (approx $672.00) plus $2.00 (approx Php96.00) for registered shipping.

Happy Friday everyone!
I want to thank everyone who likes reading my reviews!
I like doing them as most of the products I've purchased,
are done because of reviews :)
It's my small way to help others too! :)
Stay Happy!
