AMW Reviews: Elianto Aqua Shadow

Happy Friday the 13th!  The day could sound eerie to some but I like Friday!  I will be reviewing a cute liquid eyeshadow which I got from sweet blogger friend!  She sent me these together with other gifts for my birthday last February!

Elianto Aqua Shadow says ---

Shimmery liquid eye shadow. Long lasting, and natural.
Brush on with Tip applicator above eye lids for shinny make up look.

AMW says ---

Pros
  • very vibrant and shimmery shades
  • inexpensive
  • dries quickly
  • great to use as eyeshadow base to make the e/s more vibrant
  • cute packaging and can easily see the shades

Cons
  • if lids are oily , can crease up
  • quite difficult to blend because it dries pretty quickly
  • hate shimmery shadows?  Leave this!
  • not hygienic to use for others
  • you can't use everything as it tends to dry up before you finish this up
  • packaging is cute but you can't stand it up (for people who wants this standing up)

Overall

The Elianto Aqua Shadows have been around for quite some time, I haven't given them much time of the day because the shades are quite vibrant and I don't use much vibrant eyeshadow especially at work.  Thanks to Dustbunny I was able to try this and share my opinion on this for others who are planning to purchase this.

Overall, the Elianto Aqua Shadow is a liquid base eyeshadow that finish up as powder, application isn't hard with the applicator that comes with it, I find the packaging is cute but impractical because I find the shape a bit difficult to store in a traincase, I wanted this to stand upright during application, and I want to reach out all the product with the wand!  And of course, this is not Urban Decay Primer Potion (UDPP) so there's no surgery needed for this packaging.  (Dangerous and not worth it!)

Who needs this?  YOU, who are into vibrant eyeshadows.  YOU, who owns a couple of colored eyshadows that doesn't come out nice!  This is an ok product, not fantabulous and not bad either!  This is actually a great 'addition' for makeup this.

Tips
  •  if you plan to use this for other people, make sure to use a brush instead of the applicator included for hygienic purposes
  • shade well prior to usage
  • dot the aqua eyeshadow quickly on the lids then blend with fingers
  • use your ring finger to blend gently!  Do not tug your lids
  • close the cap tightly to prevent the product for drying up
Will I repurchase?

For their full retail price?  No.  If they're on sale...like right at the moment...yes!

Where to purchase and how much?

At Elianto stores or counters for Php169.00 (approx $3.70) but guess what?  They are on sale NOW for Php95.00 (approx $2.00) at SM malls

I Wonder: "What 's Your Favorite Brow Brush?"

My first brush set ever, was a 7 pieces brush set from G-Lish, a local brand!  I wasn't able to blog about it because I have given away probably 5 out of 7 of the brushes!  Why did I gave it away?  It's not because I don't like it, actually I love them so much I gave it away to my friends to appreciate the beauty of brushes for makeup application!

Though I own a couple of brushes at present and can easily give away the old ones, there's one brush from the 7pcs collection that I just can't seem to let go!  It's the G-Lish Angled Eyeliner Brush!  And the funny thing is, I don't use this for eyelining!  I use this to fill in my brows!

After more than 3years, the short handled travel eyeliner brush still looks great!  I've owned a couple of eyeliner brushes but nothing seems to compare to this one!  I heart....

My set came in with a black pouch and the handles are black in color.  At present, I believe they don't have the exact brushes available, I've seen a "white" version around for the same price of Php550.00 (Approx $12.00).

A closer look on the G-lish eyeliner brush.  The hair is firm enough and has very minimal flyaway after gazillion times of cleansing!  This brush works great to fill in my brows using brow powders!  I don't use this for eyelining, I find the brush tip a bit too thick for my taste!

You can check out my tip on drawing my own eyebrows last year by smiling and clicking HERE, you can already see me including this brush!

Now, I've shared my ultimate Eyebrow Filling Brush!
I Wonder: "What's Your Favorite Eyebrow Brush?"

Or you don't even need one?
Let's enjoy the fun of sharing!

AMW Reviews: L'Oreal tecni.art Hot Style Iron Finish

Are you into ironing your hair?  I found myself loving my flat iron!  I use it to volumize my hair, curl my hair and of course, straighten it!  I have been obsessed with my hair recently, that shows why I'm talking about hair products more often!

My hair goes through frequent styling, direct heat exposure which will definitely lead to damaging my hair.  Adding pain to injury, my hair has been colored and treated so many times that it deserves all the tender loving care in this hair world!

I have used up my CHI Silk Infusion which I ordered on ebay, I tried to repurchase but looking for it online is quite tedious and the shipping rate turns me off!  I have to find for an alternative.  I'm happy to announce, I've found my partner for hair ironing!

L'Oreal tecni.art Hot Style Iron Finish

Hot Style Iron Finish says ---

If you frequently style with a straightening iron, try tecni.art Hot Style Iron Finish.  This heat activateed smoothing milk contains a thermo-texturizing agent and Xyclose for heat protection, and Ceramides for a smooth and silk feel.

Effect: Perfect for smooth, silk feel.  For use with straightening irons
Hair type: All hair types

Hold factor: Natural
Size: 150ml
Life: 12 months after opening

AMW says ---

Pros
  • very lightweight
  • smells wonderful
  • hair doesn't feel dry after ironing
  • does not feel heavy on hair
  • a tiny amount goes a long way
  • doesn't dry out my hair after ironing as opposed of not using any product
  • convenient squeezy type tube
  • easy to store standing up
Cons
  •  quite pricey
Overall

At first glance, the price shocked the hell out of me!  But after several usage, I would say this is worth it as compared to purchasing something online and paying an arm and leg for shipping fee!  I'm glad I can purchase this and take this home A.S.A.P.

L'Oreal tecni.art Hot Style Iron Finish is cream based, base on research on product usage, applying this product on dry hair is recommended.  For review purposes, I've tried using this on damp hair and dry hair!  (Note: I can do this test as my flat iron can be used on both wet and dry hair, be careful not to do this regularly as it could ruin your hair).  Both dry and damp hair works well with this product.  I came out with a nice straight hair that doesn't feel heavy and soft to the touch!

One thing to add, though the price is quite pricey, I think base on my usage, this can last me more than 6 months of daily usage!  Which is worth the price!

Tips
  • always test on the amount of product that works 'comfortably' on your hair, I've tried pea size, a dollar coin size and for my hair length, a dollar coin size is perfect.
  • I spread the product all over the lower ends of the hair, then using the remaining product on my palm, rub it all over the root area to create a "lift"
  • use a clarifying shampoo once or twice a week to prevent product build up
Will I repurchase?

Before I repurchase, I also have the "spray type" counterpart called L'Oreal tecni.art Hot Style Constructor which works for BOTH damp and dry hair, I'll see which one works for me and I can finally tell which one I'll repurchase.

Where to purchase and how much?

Leading salons across Metro Manila (ex. David's Piandre, Jesi Mendez, etc...) who carries L'oreal Professional products for Php975.00 (approx $21.00)

Here's the amount of L'Oreal tecni.art Hot Style Iron Finish
used for my hair, I add more on some days

I spread it all over my hair

Do you protect your hair when you iron it?
I hope so!

Nail Art Tutorial: Two Toned Floral Femme Nails

Nail art tutorial Tuesday!  For the nail art lovers out there, thanks for always appreciating my nail art and I've done something quite simple yet nice to look at. I've done a simple two-toned flower on top of 2 favorite nail color of mine!  Pinks and Reds!

It's not as hard as you think! :) Read on how to do this on your own!

Step 1:

Apply 1 coat of ELF Light Pink nail polish.  (Apply a base coat prior to your nail polish application, as always)  I am nearly done with this shade, I will definitely order from Makeup Mix Shop again!

Step 2:

Making sure the base color is dry, using my favorite red polish from The Face Shop's RD001, create a vertical line as shown on photo below.

Step 3:

Using Prettynails' art pen in white, create dots for flowers and line between the red and pink polish.

Step 4:

Use the needle method to make the flower petal more natural looking.  You can skip this step if you are ok with circular dots petal.

Step 5:

Use Prettynails' art pen in Pinkish Red, press the pen on top of the white petals to create "two tone".

Step 6:

Making sure the flower and dots are dry, top the nail art with Caronia Silver Glitter polish.  This step is also optional.

Step 7:

Protect your nail art with The Face Shop's Top Coat.  My 3rd bottle!

If you don't have nail art dotting pen, you can use any dotting tool to create dots!  Toothpicks are ok!  Do give it a try and show me your nail art! :)

I know, I'm back to being dainty again!  But who knows? I can pull out the feisty-ness in me one of these days!  Give me a holler and let me know if you like this!

Keep smilin'!
