Nail Art Tutorial: Fruit Salad Nails

Happy Thursday gorgeous people!  I know a lot of local readers are jumping for joy as it's Thursday!  Because....after a long weekend holiday last week, tomorrow is another National Holiday!  To the rest of the world?  No worries, Friday is just one sleep away!  My weekend will be very busy, nothing much to say but it covers me doing what I love...prettifying people!  So excited!

I am being good as I've done nail art tutorial once a week!  Oooohhh give me a pat on my shoulder!  :D  Thank you!  I've been a bit in a mood to use my Fimo clay.  I have reader request asking me to create Fimo nails, but the thing is...I've purchased my Fimo Clay on stick so we have to cut it on our own, and...I got lazy in slicing them so bear with me if I use the same Fimo Fruits that Keith sliced!  :)

Since my nails are fruity, I created a Fruit Salad Nails!  I hope you like it!

Something New: This Summer, Play It Safe with Clinique

On my side of the paradise, it's very hot and I can't stop complaining about the heat of the sun!  I am sure a lot of you share the same sentiments as I do!  If only I could purchase an "air conditioned" clothing!  Patented by yours truly of course!

Aside from worrying on keeping cool cool, I worry about the damage caused by unprotected exposure to the sun!  I have been a good girl for the past months and I just finished a tube of my sunblock and I'm off to repurchase a new one!

MAC's Pink Nouveau Review

When Bright Red lipstick was in, it took me a while to take the plunge and purchase my own MAC Russian Red!  After my so-called "boldness" It was easier for me to give bright pinks a try when Barbie-pink lips are in! The most coveted Bright Pink lipstick (as they say) is MAC'S Pink Nouveau.  Several actresses both locally and internationally have been sporting the bright pink lips!  The Barbie-Pink lips has always been requested by my clients as well, so it won't hurt to own this "always out of stock" pink lipstick and tag this along with me on my make-up gigs.

MAC Pink Nouveau says ---
According to MAC, this is a Bright Pink (Satin) shade

AMW Reviews: L.A. Colors Color Craze Polish

I've recently purchased a L.A. Colors Color Craze Polish when I found it being sold locally at Market! Market! Mall.  I've done a nail art tutorial inspired by this shade and I'm ready to talk about this polish!

L.A. Colors Color Craze Nail Polish says ---
Color Craze is an exciting new collection of vivid, bright colors for fingers and toes! Brilliant colors intantly add character to any style. No matter what your mood is - these playful, dazzling, flirty shades will surely brighten your day & nails!

Available shades in L.A. Colors website
*sigh* I wish all the shades are available locally

** Base on the bottle shades, I think the one I own is in NP421 Static Electricity

AMW says ---

Pros
  • cruelty-free, meaning, not tested on animals!
  • shiny colors
  • very pigmented shades
  • does not turn my nails yellow, could be because of the base coat I've applied
  • lasts more than 1 week no chipping!
  • brush does not shed and easy to maneuver
  • very cute packaging, the cap is removable, for a more precise application

Cons
  • locally, not a lot of shades available
Overall
I love this polish, I've used OPI polish and the quality reminded me of the said polish!  I wouldn't mind spending a bit more (compared to local brands) as one swipe is even enough to cover my nails!  I love this polish!

Tips
  • in any nail polish application, always remember to apply a base coat to protect your nails
  • protect your polish with your favorite top coat, apply the tips as well
  • store your polishes in a cool, dry place

Will I repurchase?
Yes!

Where to purchase and how much?
Locally at Market! Market! for Php85.00 (approx $2.00).
International readers, you can purchase this at Nonpareil Boutique for $2.50 or Cherry Culture for $1.99

This is how gorgeous L.A. Color Color Craze in Static Electricity, gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous!

I can't help but sing the song "Electric Youth" from Debbie Gibson each I see this polish!  Must be the name!  Gosh, I am so stuck in the 80's!

AMW Reviews: ELF Eyelid Primer

Happy Monday!  How's the weekend?  Mine was super relaxing!  I am all ready and re-charged to face the busy weeks ahead!

I have so many requests to come up with a review for the ELF Eyelid Primer the moment I posted the Something New: What AMW is using at the Moment.  I have used this product so many times and I'm all ready to do a review.  Please note though that I live in a very hot and humid environment, so the experience could be different if you're living from the opposite side of the world!  :)

ELF Eyelid Primer says ---
Preps your eyelid for smoother, longer-lasting and crease-proof eyeshadow. The ultra sheer nude color works to increase eye color longevity. The lightweight liquid formula quickly absorbs into the skin for comfortable wear.

AMW says ---
Pros
  • very cheap
  • goes on smoothly, no tugging of eyelids
  • dries up instantly
  • no shade or color, dries up like your eyelid color

  • applies eyeshadow easy as it creates a smooth surface
  • makes eyeshadow more vibrant
  • does not change the color of your eyeshadow.
Cons
  • creases, even with the product itself, it creases after 2 hours in our hot weather
  • doesn't make my eyeshadow last longer
  • not available locally, I have to purchase this online
Overall
If you want to find a cheaper alternative for Urban Decay Primer Potion (UDPP), this is NOT the one!  This does not hold the eyeshadow, vibrancy disappears after 2 hours or so and it creases my eyelid big time!

The positivity of this product though, is it makes eyeshadow application a breeze because of its creamy texture.  It does not have any glitters or shimmer which made it an exact dupe for UDPP when it comes to "shade". Do check out the "tips" below on how I maximize this product.  Though this is a very inexpensive $1.00 product, we shouldn't waste it right?  :)

I am definitely more intrigued with the Mineral Eyeshadow Primer from ELF.

Tips
  • if you have dry lids like I do, apply a your preferred eyeshadow primer onto lids, in my case it's UDPP, then top with this ELF Eyelid Primer so my eyeshadow will spread easily!
  • use this eyelid primer on the brow area so the eyebrow powder will "stick" and last the whole day!
  • if you don't have sensitive cheeks, I also tried using this on the cheek area as a blush base and it works!  Blush stays longer and looks more vibrant.
  • do not share the applicator with a friend for hygienic purposes. Use a cotton bud if a friend wants to share!
Will I repurchase?
No, I want to try ELF Mineral Eyeshadow primer though, everyone says this is better

Where to purchase and how much?
I purchased mine at The Makeup Mix Shop for $1.00 (approx Php46.00)

A closer look at ELF Eyelid Primer

Sponge tip applicator works really well and was able to grab the right amount of product to be applied on each eye.

One swipe on hand

Gently blend and the eyelid primer disappears

Here's a photo to show how vibrant the eyeshadow is on top of the ELF Eyelid Primer.  I am using I Nuovi's Colours 027 (Silver). The top portion swiped once without primer while the bottom part swiped once with primer.

I hope my review helps!  Who have tried the Mineral Eyeshadow Primer?  Is it worth purchasing?  Let me know as I'm lemming for it!
