Working Mom Tips

Whenever I meet friends, they would always tell me: "You are doing so much!  How do you find time?"

I usually give them this exasperated look and tell them: "I don't sleep!"   But now, as I'm sitting in front of the computer while my son is sleeping soundly with my favorite Leaders Insolution sheet mask plastered on my face, I'm doing quite good!  I'm actually enjoying this roller coaster ride called MOTHERHOOD!

Now, don't get me wrong!  Don't compare me to other moms who have more than 1 kid!  They are definitely my hero!  My idol!  So please look at this post as a Motherhood Guide 101 --- nothing fancy, complicated or scienfitic!  Just a newbie mom who learned something through 3.2 years of motherhood and I'm sharing what I learned through the years because I think I'm doing quite a good job!  *pats on my back*

A little background about me to newbie readers.  I'm a hands-on mom with a Day Job and multiple side jobs.  My freelance jobs include --- Make Up Artistry, Make Up Training to Various Brands and AMW Workshop Series, a Brand/PR Consultant.  Adding to that is my day job as a Consultant in an Executive Search firm.

Now how hands-on am I as a Hands-on Mom?  I spend more than 50% of my time with my son!  If I work from home, jump it up to 80-90% of my time!  I co-sleep with my son, bathe him everyday, cook for the family, play with him and teach him (if he's in the mood for learning) and I am also his favorite toy!  --- yes guys, I'm an ANIMATED mom and I'm proud of it!

And yes, I do all these in 24 hours, there are days I can't complete a task but most of the time, I sleep with a big, contented smile on my face.  So if I can do it, you can definitely do it too fellow mommies!

AMW Wears: Maybelline Rosy Matte by ColorSensational

So NUDES are really in huh?  And I'm talking about Lipsticks! 

Maybelline's powerful lip franchise Color Sensational went crazy over colors early this year!  You don't believe me?  Take a look at my lip swatches on the previous Velvet Matte by ColorSensational line.

As much as I'm very much impressed with bold lip statement, the high pigmentation, creamy matte formulation that glides on lips like a  dream, there are days I just want the "girl-next-door" look.  Thankfully, Maybelline came up with their Rosy Matte by Color Sensational and by far, my favorite line of all!

Out of the 5, I immediately got drawn to shade number 3, 4 and 5 (from left).  But a decision cannot be made without wearing them!  And I'll tell you if I made the right choices!

Weekend Food Trip at: Bill's Bear Cafe, Robinsons Place Ermita + CBTL's New Offerings

I think it was a sudden decision to stop by Robinsons Place Ermita last weekend because we need to buy something!  And as always, the Mr. and Mrs. always ask each other: "Where to eat?"  and finally, after seeing Bill's Bear Cafe right at the center of the East Wing of Robinsons Place Ermita for quite some time, we knew we had to give the restaurant a try considering how hungry we were! 

Thankfully, the restaurant provides high chair, one of the best kind of high chair I must say (with longer back rest).  So made the quickest decision by ordering their "meals". 

But while typing this, we really regret not ordering their pizzas!  

Diced Beef served with Dry Garlic Slices in Mushroom Sauce

The beef is soft and tender and tastes really good!  I can't complain about the serving as the price is just okay for a set meal with rice, a bit of salad and creamy soup.  I can't give 2 thumbs up for the Mushroom Sauce though!  It was just okay, not the mushroom sauce my tongue was accustomed to.

AskMeMom: How to Get Toddler to Brush Teeth

I never thought that day will arrive!  I've tried all sorts of tricks to make my son brush his own teeth!  Until this fateful day....

Before we go into that, well, the struggle is REAL when it comes to brushing your toddler's teeth!  I'm not sure about you but I envy moms who post photos of their toddlers holding a toothbrush with a smile brushing their own teeth!  

"What's wrong with my kid?"

Well, nothing's wrong!  I realized that in every activity we want our kid to learn, it has to be a fun journey for him!  Just to share to you, I've tried ALL sorts of "FUN" activities.

Example: 

• Playing "Brush Your Teeth" videos on Youtube while I try to brush his teeth.
• Sing to him "Brush Your Teeth" song to him with crazy facial expressions and actions while I try to brush his teeth.
• Purchase him all sorts of "cool" toothbrushes.
• Purchase him all sorts of flavored toothpaste.
• Have someone hold his face and arms as I forcefully brush his teeth (Okay, this isn't fun for both of us but I'm desperate guys!)

Then I realized, the characters I purchase him aren't really his favorites!  He doesn't even know who those characters are!  So, my son may not be the kid who likes to watch cartoons (he's into educational videos still!)  I realized, there's one video that never fail to make him laugh EVERY time!

Eureka Moment: Travalo And Perfume Pod

So, finally!  Another great find from AMW!

Imagine my delight when I got the Travalo Perfume Pods?  I mean, where were you tiny bits from Heaven when I needed you most?  Ever since I became a mom, I NEVER wear perfumes before going out, instead, I wear them whenever I'm in the car or when I'm out!  Kyle Nash is a hugger, so I make sure I don't have anything too scented when I hug him before heading out of the door!  So what do I have inside my bag?  This ONE AND ONLY sample size scent from Michael Kors!  

The Michael Kors scent isn't bad!  I LOVE it actually, but having to wear them EACH and EVERY TIME I go out, well, ahmm....is kinda boring!  I used to change my scents DAILY!  So imagine how hard it is for me to say loyal for just ONE scent just because I do not want to 'lug' all my full-sized perfumes whenever I go out?

SO THIS IS INDEED A EUREKA MOMENT!
