How to Prevent Breakouts while wearing Face Mask and Face Shield

The COVID-19 face mask and face shield season seems to be exaggerating to some but I find it comforting to cover the whole face as much as possible.  You tend to have a different view regarding this pandemic if you are a mom and a daughter of a super old parents no?

I may not go out as often but I do bring food everyday to my in-laws who lives a couple of steps away from my home.  Even with the short distance, I cover up LIKE THIS (on photo)....

And there's NO SHAME for that.

Even with short mask and face shield wearing, I find myself breaking out more often especially the upper lip area, chin and even the cheeks!  Because of that, I find myself thinking about our Frontliner heroes who are wearing mask and shield for more than 8 hours a day!  Some even wears double face mask!  Imagine how hard that is?

So here, I created a simple tutorial on how to prevent breakouts.  I mean the work itself is already hard enough, seeing pimples popping right out of nowhere here and down would dampen anyone's mood even more!

KEY:  Use any product that works for you that can help prevent breakouts.  The Body Shop Tea Tree Oil products help me a lot since I have sensitive skin.  You don't have to use the same products.  Some of you may find Salicylic Acid to be the solution or Benzyl Peroxide, so feel free to use "liquid" skincare product in exchange for what I used on video.

I hope this video helps!
Feel free to share your tips by commenting below.  I'd love to read it.

Let's stay positive, try to do our best to fight this pandemic together.

How to Rejuvenate Stressed Skin

As happy as I look and sound on Social Media, just like everybody else - I am stressed!

I can't believe I am announcing this, but I really am!

Just like everyone else, I TRY to keep my stress at bay by playing games, watching Korean Series and cooking!  And because my tasks aren't as physically demanding as they used to, I was left with a whole lot of energy til wee hours of the night so I am a LIVING OWL sleeping at 3:00 or 4:00 in the morning!

My skin is obviously suffering!

Zits are popping from nowhere, I am starting to see enlarged pores on my cheeks and dry patches (again) on forehead and chin!

I have to do something, so here's my no fail method to rejuvenate wonky skin!  You won't see instant results, but this made me feel good!

Please subscribe and watch this short video!

What's your plan to save up your skin?

Beauty Hacks Using Biogenic Alcohol

Whatever you read on my blog comes from the bottom of my heart.  Only the truth.
And when I say our family uses at least 4 x 330ml of Alcohol on a monthly basis, I am NOT lying! Even before turning into a Biogenic Ambassador, I sometimes order a BOX of Biogenic Alcohol from the supplier just to get discounts.

What do I do with Alcohol aside from using it at home and making sure to keep my son safe from germs and bacteria?

I have several Beauty Hacks using Biogenic Alcohol.  Yes, you read it right.  It is a Beauty Hack and that's the reason why I picked Biogenic over any alcohol in the market because the scent won me over!

AMW Workshop Series 2: Perfecting Your Base Report

Remember last March when I kicked off AMW Workshop Series?  (Read about it AMW Workshop Series 1: Get Ready for Summer Report)

Who would have thought just a couple of months after, I continued with part 2?  And the slots were filled in less than 2 days!  THANK YOU LORD!

Here's our obligatory Class Photo!

The workshop was held at SanCoCo still, one of my favorite coffee shops to date because they serve really good coffee!  (When I say they're good, they are REALLY GOOD)

Just like any AMW Workshop Series, all the attendees will get their own personalized Ecobag with their names printed at the same time, with the names of the sponsors printed at the back!  This is just a small way of me saying THANK YOU to the attendees and sponsors for the support.  Seriously, this has all been a dream come true for me!

Working Mom Tips

Whenever I meet friends, they would always tell me: "You are doing so much!  How do you find time?"

I usually give them this exasperated look and tell them: "I don't sleep!"   But now, as I'm sitting in front of the computer while my son is sleeping soundly with my favorite Leaders Insolution sheet mask plastered on my face, I'm doing quite good!  I'm actually enjoying this roller coaster ride called MOTHERHOOD!

Now, don't get me wrong!  Don't compare me to other moms who have more than 1 kid!  They are definitely my hero!  My idol!  So please look at this post as a Motherhood Guide 101 --- nothing fancy, complicated or scienfitic!  Just a newbie mom who learned something through 3.2 years of motherhood and I'm sharing what I learned through the years because I think I'm doing quite a good job!  *pats on my back*

A little background about me to newbie readers.  I'm a hands-on mom with a Day Job and multiple side jobs.  My freelance jobs include --- Make Up Artistry, Make Up Training to Various Brands and AMW Workshop Series, a Brand/PR Consultant.  Adding to that is my day job as a Consultant in an Executive Search firm.

Now how hands-on am I as a Hands-on Mom?  I spend more than 50% of my time with my son!  If I work from home, jump it up to 80-90% of my time!  I co-sleep with my son, bathe him everyday, cook for the family, play with him and teach him (if he's in the mood for learning) and I am also his favorite toy!  --- yes guys, I'm an ANIMATED mom and I'm proud of it!

And yes, I do all these in 24 hours, there are days I can't complete a task but most of the time, I sleep with a big, contented smile on my face.  So if I can do it, you can definitely do it too fellow mommies!

Today's post, I am sharing some of the Working Mom Tips I Live By.  PLEASE SHARE YOURS on comment box below because I'd love to learn from you too!

My Toddler Is Going To Preschool, and I'm Extremely Nervous!

When Kyle starts to walk, my friends and family were asking me if I'll enroll him to school.  It was always a "no" because it is our decision (as parents) to let him enjoy his time at home with the parents and learn basic knowledge and manners from us before we let him go!

He finally turned 3 last April and we told ourselves 3 is the perfect age for us to enroll him to Preschool.  It was our decision to take him to a preschool before he goes to big school because our family is really small!  We don't have kids AT ALL!  And most of the kids around our area are "home bodies" too so he doesn't get to play around with kids his age!

Now, if you ask me, I am at my most nervous stage right now since his first day of school is next week!  But of course, I can't let that nervousness and possible "separation anxiety" get the best of me! Mr. AMW and I have done preparations before THE BIG DAY!

I'll share you some tips that I'm currently doing and I would love to hear your ideas fellow mommies!

1. We send him to "play care" on weekends just for him to "feel" the environment of being in school.
Playcare at Little Archer SM MOA, written a very positive review about our experience here but unfortunately, we had to look for another "school" because it is too far from home!  I can't imagine the stress of driving him to and from school with traffic that could last an hour plus EACH way!  That would be super stressful for my son!

Now, if you don't have means to bring him to Play Schools, or if your schedule does not permit, you can take your toddler to kid-friendly areas like Kidzania, Kidnooza or random playground inside the malls!

My Top 5 Pro Makeup Artist Secrets Revealed!

I have been a professional Makeup Artist for almost a decade now!  Counting those times when I was just "happily" doing my classmates' or friends' makeup?  That would be a total of 2 decades!  Prettifying boys and girls have always been a goal of mine!  I remembered saving up my allowance to purchase international magazines back then just to flip through pages after pages admiring the makeup on each model (even on ads!)  That, my friend, was pre-Youtube days.

Now that I'm living my dream prettifying people professionally.  There will always be friendly competition out there and I know I have to "up" my game to make sure I keep existing clients and get new ones!  With so many talented makeup artists out there, we need to do something right to stay in the game!  How?  By ---

1. Constant Learning.
2. Maintain Client-Makeup Artist good relationship.
3. Take care of EACH of your client like how you would take care of yourself.

Well, there's more but that's the top 3 on my head as of the moment.

As you all know, makeup artistry is not all about fun and glamour!  Well, I do look a bit more "glamorous" in the photo below taken for Biogenic shoot just because they need a profile picture of me as a makeup artist but trust me, I don't look like this at work!

During the shoot, the makeup artist in me can't help but retouch my co Biogenic-mommies' makeup.  It is as natural as "breathing" when I would automatically check the makeup of Jackie and Frances making sure they are camera-ready!  I guess, once you're a makeup artist, you'll always be one!

I bonded with Frances over retouch and we did a bit of "beauty talk" while taking the photo (above).  Frances told me about her dry skin issues and how I deal with clients who have dry skin.  I immediately shared all my tips and tricks and realized, hey!  I do have a couple of tips up on my sleeves, so why not share it to you guys too?

Get to know the Biogenic Mom Bloggers!

Can you spot the familiar looking faces?
I am so proud to announce that AskMeWhats is part of Biogenic Mom Squad!  This campaign is definitely for the books because I am a self-proclaimed BIOGENIC walking advertiser!

Even before turning into an "AskMeMom", amidst the popularity of alcohol in "gel form", I am still a believer of regular alcohol.  I'm old school (Not old :P )  but I have this sense of comfort every time I spritz.  Especially when I'm outside with no access to soap and running water.

During those times, alcohol housed in a spritzer bottle is not a regular thing yet so I would purchase my own perfume atomizer and put alcohol instead so I can safely use it anytime, anywhere!  (Especially public washrooms!)

NU Lady Bulldogs Photoshoot + How I Survive A Photoshoot Day Like This!

I choose to focus on Bridal Makeup Artistry especially now that I'm a mom.  Any other makeup jobs like Photoshoots always excites me!  But I choose to limit myself on that route because I want to spend more time with my toddler and you know how Photoshoots take up a lot of your time.  (Kyle Nash, if you are reading this in the future, you know how much I love you ha!) :P

But when my favorite photographer Mark Lao and Bestfriend asked me to be part of the Biogenic Photoshoot for the NU Lady Bulldogs Volleyball Team, how can I say no?  It maybe a full day away from my son but it was worth it!

Pack-up faces!

The shoot calls for very natural makeup.  There were a total of 17 girls and I partnered with fellow makeup artist Bing Castro.  (Bing, great job!)  Aeicy Cruz was the one who did all their hair!  All 17 girls!
