Good morning universe! I am telling the world that today will be a good one! :) I hope the world agrees! :P
Over dinner with friends, one of my college friend was requesting for The Avengers nail art. Both Keith and I have thought about doing this nail art after watching the movie but I was so lazy for the last few months! We've seen The Avengers posters and I know how they look like either on Mighty Mugg or Hasbrow so I have a couple in mind! Too many things in mind I can't decide what to do! So thanks to Rina for the request as I was pushed to finally create one!
Here you go, my version of The Avengers Nails
Black Widow
Natasha Romanoff (Black Widow) doesn't have a particular face or mask that would make people recognize her easily so I've decided to draw her Character Icon instead.
Step 1:
Apply 2 coats of Caronia White Satin Regular Polish. Let dry.
Step 2:
Using L.A. Colors Art Deco polish in red, draw the icon using faint strokes, it is okay if the lines are uneven as you get to cover it with a black border.
Step 3:
Fill in the rest of the icon with the L.A. Colors Art Deco polish in red, pull out your L.A. Art Deco Polish in Black to create an outline.
Iron Man
There are so many versions of the Iron Man suit but Mr. AMW requested for the oldest version! We own Iron Man Mighty Mugg so it wasn't difficult to copy his face!
Step 1:
Apply 2 coats of
Caronia Sweet Surprise Frosted Polish. Let dry.
Step 2:
Draw an outline or you can directly draw the red portion of Iron Man, don't forget the "widow's peak". In this tutorial, I used Paul & Joe polish in bright red. :D
Step 3:
Using
L.A. Colors Art Deco polish in black draw re-draw the outline.
Step 4:
With a black nail art pen, draw the eyes and mouth.
Captain America
Captain America ain't Captain America without his shield
(and muscles) *laughs*
Step 1:
Using any Captain America "blue" shade of choice, I picked out Caronia's Blueberry Regular Polish and created a half moon shape as seen below.
Step 2:
Using
L.A. Colors Art Deco polish in red, draw a curved stripes leaving a space in between.
Step 3:
Using
L.A. Colors Art Deco polish in white, fill in the space in between 2 red curves.
Step 4:
With a nail art dotting tool in White or if you don't have it, use an art brush and any matte white polish, draw half of the star.
Thor
Thor, it took me awhile to decide on drawing his famous icon
(the hammer) or draw his face. I've decided to go for the latter as I recently saw a mini-mugg Thor character made by Hasbrow company that took my heart away! He's too cute for words!
Step 1:
Apply base color that's close to your nail color. Then I used Essie's Playa del Platinum to create an outline for Thor's helmet. It came out a bit too l ight so I've decided to top it with another shade.
Step 2:
Using O.P.I.'s Nail Lacquer in It's Totally Forth Worth It or any silvery, metallic shade, top the lines done on Step 1.
Step 3:
Using Art Deco Nail Lacquer in black, create an outline and draw the lips.
Step 4:
For the eyes, I used a nail art dotting tool and white polish and draw big circle.
Step 5:
With L.A. Colors Art Deco polish in yellow, I drew Thor's eyebrows, I've done the white dots first so I have an idea on where to put the brows.
Step 6:
Once the white dots are completely dry, top with a light blue dot on top and pile on smaller white dots on top of it for a "cartoon-like" eyes.
The Hulk
The Hulk was drawn on my thumb nails as I love him! I really do! I've enjoyed his character in the movie and it's nice to show a "green thumb" once in a while :)
Step 1:
Choose any green shade of your choice for Hulk. I picked Revlon's Nail Lacquer in 510 called Sassy. Apply 2 coats of it and let dry.
Step 2:
Draw the hair of The Hulk with a thin brush from L.A. Art Deco. There's no right or wrong way for the hair! The Hulk's hair is quite messy to begin with so the messier, the better! :)
Step 3:
To create cartoon eyes, piling on dots of various shapes is the key! For The Hulk, I've created a big white dot with nail art dotting tool Let dry and top with a smaller black dot.
With a smaller dotting tool, create 2 small white dots on top of the medium sized black dot.
Step 4:
For the mouth, I've used a Nail Art Pen in Black and drew the outline, slowly filling the color in.
Step 5:
Draw the brows creating an "angry expression" by creating 2 curves with the 2 brows almost meeting at the center.
Step 6:
Once the mouth is completely dry. Use a Nail Art Pen in white and draw 2 lines at the center.
Always top your nail art design with your preferred top coat. I am using Seche Vite Quick Dry Top Coat for this tutorial.
Here's a closer look of my nails
L-R Thor, Captain America, Iron Man and Black Widow
and The Hulk getting all angry!
What's your favorite Avengers character?
I hope they'll include The Wasp and Ant-Man for part 2!
But I don't know how I can fit them on my nails! hahaha
Keep smilin'
Stay happy!
