Taiwanese Chicken and Egg Fried Rice Recipe

 

Our last out of country trip before the Pandemic was Taipei, Taiwan and the husband and I just scrolled our travel photos and missed all our food trip and bonding on the streets of Taiwan.  One of our favorite?  And Kyle’s?  Taiwanese Chicken Cutlet!  They mostly use Chicken Breasts for since our family love the tender and juiciness of chicken thighs, I opted for Chicken Thigh because we always have a stock of that in our freezer.  

This recipe was surprisingly a success! I used a kilo of Chicken Thigh Fillet (from @landersph ) and here are the rest of the ingredients, feel free to adjust:

Chicken marinade: 
• 1 tbsp minced garlic
• 1 tsp. White pepper
• 1 tbsp Oyster Sauce
• 2 tbsp Soy sauce
• 1 -1.5 tsp Five Spice Powder
• a dash of sugar

Before frying: 
• 1 egg 
• 3 tbsp cornstarch 
• tapioca starch for coating 

Egg Fried Rice:
• 3-4 eggs
• spring onions or leeks
• old rice
• salt and whte pepper
• a dash of sugar
• 1 tsp soy sauce

Slow Down Saturday with A Good Cup of Coffee

 

Slow down weekend, my kind of favorite way to de-stress.  After a full week of classes I long for the weekend to have more “me time” even if it’s just extra 10-15 minutes in the afternoon.  I usually tutor my son on weekdays in the afternoon so I have the Saturday off of no tutoring so Kyle understood once he sees me sitting on a sofa playing my favorite IPAD games holding a cup of coffee.  GOOD COFFEE.

As a coffee lover, I drink all sorts of coffee, from 3-in-1 to instant but I highly aim for brewed coffee because I can taste the richness and aroma of a good coffee bean!  I only go for Instant when I am rushing but given the choice, I’d go for brewed coffee 100% of my life!

That said, I have a coffee corner with all sorts of coffee gadgets and accessories.  From Drip Coffee to Mokapot, Coffe Grinder, Gooseneck kettle and a whole lot more!

My first and only Mokapot was gifted to me by my brother but I find it NOT enough :P. Size is too small for my addiction so I am glad to have added a new Stainless Steel Mokapot from Havila PH.  

While at it, you can also purchase their huge Double Walled Coffee Mugs.  They have 2 capacities - 375ml and 475ml, I of course went for the bigger one!  They also offer Premium Coffee Grounds which comes free for every MOka Pot and French Press order!  

By the way, the stainless steel Moka Pot comes in 3 sizes - 160ml (3 cups), 240ml (6 cups) and 360ml (9cups).  I went for the latter and it was the best decision ever!  I make once in the morning and store the rest in a tight container for full day of coffee greatness!

Lazada Livestream Hosting Makeup Look

 

For 10.10 I hosted 2 livestreams for Lazada Live and this was my 2nd day look!  I’ve decided to create a more party-like look because the lights I use for Livestream seems too bright so I tend to look washed out!  

For my base, I only used Make Up For Ever Matte Velvet Skin Concealer and set my base with Kate Tokyo The Base Zero Secret Skin Maker Powder   Shade 03.  

For my brows, I used It Cosmetics Brow Powder Universal Brow pencil which looked so natural on me.  For my eyeshadow, I used the Make Up For Ever Let’s Gold Palette, my favorite palette if I want to be a bronzed goddess :P I only turned out to be bronzey but NOT a Goddess!  *laughs*

Styx Wraps by Luxx - First Try

 

Nail wraps, I never intended to try them since I know in my heart they will never last on me - I cook a lot, wash the dishes and wash my hands multiple times a day!  I also do a lot of art activities with my son so that idea of nail art is really out of my mind.

Until one day, I have an emergency meeting with “Big bosses” and my nails were really ugly!  In just 10 minutes on hand, I’ve decided to use my STYX Wraps by Luxx which was hidden in my nail product stash for months!  I also need to put on makeup and fix my hair so applying nail polish is not an option at that moment!

For a first time Nail Wraps user, this wasn’t bad at all!

I did a less than 15 seconds Instagram Reel for this but this is a longer version for you to understand how to apply Nail Wraps!  Again, I am no professional but I am so happy I have a sharp Stationary Tweezers on hand!  A must for nail art lovers!  

For my quick review, this can actully stay longer even if you do house chores, you just have to make sure the nail wraps fit exactly your nail bed.  It must not go beyond the nails or touch the cuticles!  Since I was in a rush, I don’t have time to trim the stickers but that is a quick tip for me to add if you want to keep your nail wraps longer.

Also, it helps to apply a top coat for extra shine and “stick”.

Glow with The Body Shop Shimmer Waves Blush 02

 

If you don’t know me by now, I am always a PRO-glowing skin!  I would do anything to create fresh and glowing skin rather than FLAT and Matte.  I guess it’s because I have normal/dry skin I aim for youthful glow!  Or maybe, I watch too many K-dramas!  

I usually add “oil” on my foundation or BB cream to create such glow, thankfully, there are more products/brands coming out that can recreate the glow without much effort!  And today, I am sharing one secret!  All thanks to The Body Shop, it only takes a minute or 2 for this glowing skin!
