Human Nature Radiant Grace Night Cream Review

If there's one local brand that I really trust, trust enough to even use their baby products line for Kyle, that's Human Nature!

Human Nature has been around for quite some time and you've seen them getting into big supermarkets, beauty sections and even drugstores!  It was a pure pleasure for me to see them grow to a baby line (hello Toothpaste, Shampoo etc... that I constantly use for my son!)  and now, they ventured into Anti-Aging department.

Human Nature has a new Night Cream called Radiant Grace (Php995.00) and it is 100% natural.

Human Nature Kids + New Products

Human Nature is a local-brand that I really depend on and highly recommend when we talk about "safe" products.  We've read positive review after positive reviews and raves from the Beauty Community.

Thankfully, the brand expanded more products this time, with Human Nature KIDS!

Housed in a super cute packaging, Kyle kept on mentioning "Human Natural Natural Shampoo and Body Wash please!" whenever we take a bath.  He loves the animal characters and even enjoyed reading the back label!

Now let's talk about the product itself, I love the scent of both Tangerine and Apple I can't pick favorites for now.  I just alternate both variants and the product lather up pretty good, not the bubbly type but it's okay!  I love how soft and smooth my son's skin is after every bath and how it doesn't hurt his eyes.

I am saving up Jiggly Bath Jelly for our staycation this weekend because Kyle is into slime right now so this will be a perfect treat for him in a bigger bath tub from the hotel room we are staying over the weekend!

The Hand Sanitizer is another story.  With "cosmic" and a lot of stars and 2 kids in space, this is a perfect packaging for my Space-loving son!  The scent is somewhat like a "tutti-fruity" candy but it is actually "apple-scented" according to product description.

I love how it does not dry my hands - yes, I use it too! The only difference is, you have to shake this product well before use.

Readers' Corner: Q&A Portion to Jumpstart 2015

Hi AMW friends!
Today, I will be answering some queries I get from my email!  I think I have to do this or else, I will be loaded forever!  :P  Don't get me wrong, I am very happy with all your emails because that keeps me going!  If you wonder how I get the time to blog?  That's for you to find out *winks*  Just joking, I do so in between breaks!  When I have coffee break or right now, a Calamansi juice break!

Reader Question #1
"What should I invest on aside from makeup kit and brushes if I plan to pursue a career in makeup artistry?"

AMW Answers:
Okay, my answer may probably surprise you but I can actually  put this in an "Unsung Hero" post.  After years of doing makeup, I realized how important Z-Palette is (or any customizable palettes available in the market) for a PRO MUA like me!  Especially when I started to go on gigs on my own, lugging a huge Zuca bag, it is very difficult to transfer from one place to another (ALONE) with a luggage full of makeup, a huge mirror and a bag!

I first "depotted" all my face powders and transferred it to my first Pink Z-Palette and I realized not only does it help lessen the load of my kit, it is very easy for me to do retouch as I only need to carry 1 palette instead of 6 compacts!

I got more Z-palettes and I plan to depot some of my blushes and contour/highlight powders!

I got my 2nd Z-palette online via Shopping District

Reader Question #2
"Nikki, can you recommend a lipgloss brand that has wide range of colors just like MAC but lesser the price tag?"

AMW Reviews: Human Nature Balm For All Seasons

Just what I need, a soothing balm for my tired muscles that is 100% natural!  I recently got sick together with Baby AMW over the weekend.  I threw up once (no I'm not pregnant) and my whole body was aching.  As a hands-on mom, I don't have the luxury of "time-off" as I need to look after my little one especially since he was also sick!

Thankfully, I was able to see Human Nature's Balm for All Seasons which was tucked inside my storage bin!  It must be heaven sent as I suddenly saw this tiny little pot peeking right back at me when I was searching for baby diaper rash cream.

I took this out immediately and applied a few amount under my nose and on my shoulders.  I've used this tiny pot over the weekend and I will be sharing my initial thoughts and review on this small wonder!

Human Nature says ---
Give the gift of peace of mind with our 100% Natural Balm for All Seasons.
One whiff is all it takes to get you hooked. Breathe in the goodness and let the good vibes from this mint balm soothe away the tensions of your daily hectic lifestyle. Let this all-around wonder balm's infusion of peppermint, eucalyptus, and bergamot help relieve stress, mental fatigue, dizziness, body aches, and even skin boo-boos.

Something New: 2 New Clarifying Shampoos from Local Brands

Do you still remember my post on: "I Wonder: Do You Use Clarifying Shampoo?"
That post was written year 2012 and so far, I've tried some more Clarifying shampoos aside from the Schwarzkopf Essensity Clarifying Shampoo.

As a product reviewer/beauty products Blogger, I actually haven't tried a whole lot of clarifying shampoos as you know, I really use them once a week!  And I actually finish them all up!  Yup, no wastage!  I disliked ignoring products that works!

It has been months that I used up my  Yves Rocher  Eclat Radiance Rinsing Vinegar which I use it as a clarifying "tool".  It works and I love it!  But obviously, I want to try out MORE and thankfully, before the end of last year, I was introduced with two!  And the good part? These 2 are made locally and I can't wait to start using them!  To be honest, I just don't know which one I'll go first!  HELP?

Eureka Moment: Human Nature Natural Pocket Hand Soap

Happy mid-week AMW friends!
Are you a type of person who carries loads of products inside your bag?  No matter how much you try to lessen the things you bring, it seems like your bag can't get any lighter?

*High Five*

One of the things I can't live without is a tiny alcohol spray inside my bag, I CANNOT survive leaving home without it!  BUT, on some days, alcohol isn't enough especially for moms like me.

What if you are out with the baby and baby did number 2?  Obviously, washing your hand is a MUST and I'm sure a lot of you can relate on how stingy most public restrooms are in terms of hand soap (and even water!) :(

Carrying a huge hand soap or liquid hand soap isn't feasible so can I share a simple EUREKA MOMENT?

What's New In the Beauty World?

Happy Saturday AMW Friends!
Wow, my week was VERY busy considering it was supposed to be my 1 week holiday from work!  I don't mind, I'm not complaining as I'm doing the things I love to do!  Talk about makeup, teach makeup techniques, and spend more time with the little one!

Today is Saturday so I'm sharing new stuff I got to see to help prettify us more!  I haven't really used them yet and it may take a bit of time for me to post a review on them so I'm posting about these new products first and see if anyone have tried any of the mentioned products!  Feel free to comment and share your experience as I'm excited to know what these products can offer!

Human Nature
Human Nature, proudly Philippine made, have gained positive reviews from various beauty bloggers and I myself can't help but feel impressed with their wide range of natural personal care, cosmetics and home care products.  I am very confident in using their products as these are 100% chemical free!  Perfect for mommies like me who have a baby who loves to hug, kiss and lick mommy! :D

  • Human Nature 100% Natural Day Moisturizer (Php274.75 for 100ml Php149.75 for 50ml)
  • Human Nature Healthy Lotion (Php64.75 for 50ml, Php199.75 for 200ml)

Eureka Moment: 100% Natural Deodorant

I'm one lucky girl as I don't sweat much!  Meaning, I can run a mile and still look HOT (not!)  Kidding aside, I really don't sweat much so I can skip using deodorants or anti-perspirant and probably use them only if I know I'll be staying outdoor for long or I'll be doing some strenuous activities!  That's the reason why my underarm doesn't turn dark (knocks on wood).  Yes, some or shall I say, most deodorants can make our dear underarms turn dark and ugly!  Why?  Well, these roll-ons, sticks and sprays may contain parabens, PEGs, synthetic ingredients or aluminum compounds that could cause darkening or irritations.  So best way to keep your underarm in its' most natural, gorgeous form?  Use 100% natural deodorants but seriously speaking, it is very difficult to find one!  But of course, we can always go to our trustee "tawas" (a natural white crystalline mineral salt of potassium) which I think is great but I find it tedious to apply (cause I'm one lazy woman of the 21st century!)

Recently, I've discovered a locally made deodorant from Human Nature's 100% Natural Premium Deodorant in Powder Fresh.

Some Last Minute Christmas Gifts!

Merry Christmas AMW friends!  Just one more sleep and the happy season is here!  How are you celebrating your Christmas?  I'm off with the family for a nice lunch/dinner and spend the rest catching up on each other's lives!

Just like ME, maybe...some of you are still not done with Christmas shopping! Maybe, you were part of "population" who spend more time stuck in traffic rather than the shopping action itself.  Let's give each other a *high five* shall we?

Note from author:  These are all random products that comes into mind but feel free to add more!  I am more into "packaging" and effectiveness of the product brand!

Let's talk about gifts that we tend to steer away from.  The gift of skincare, body care and hygiene.  Okay, giving products related to hygiene is a bit tricky so you can either gift this to your family members or super close friends!  I'll explain why the gift of hygiene can make a receive happy!  (like me!)

Gift ideas #1
for mouth and teeth
After I reached 5th month of pregnancy, and 2nd trimester is the safest period to visit a dentist, I've decided to visit a dentist one day for teeth cleaning and look what hit me!  My dentist scolded me like I was a 10-year old kid as it seems like I am still not taking enough care of my teeth!  *embarrassed*  My gingivitis problem is still there and seems I didn't do anything about it!  My gums ended up bleeding A LOT so I was scheduled for 2nd session of teeth cleaning after the New Years!  *hides face from embarrassment*

Dentiste Plus White Perfect
Gum and Tooth Protection

you can also add up with a toothbrush and toothpaste!

Gift ideas #2
 For the face
The gift is skincare is well appreciated nowadays as a lot of us are on a search for really good brands but can't seem to shell out a lot to try out different brands!  So gifting someone a skincare brand they haven't tried would give them a chance to test on new products without them needing to spend!  Smart idea right?

Perfect 2-in1 product!

And if you have a bit of budget or you would want to impress your dad-in-law or your boyfriend's dad!  A good skincare brand for men immediately came to mind!  I gifted this set to my brother and he loved it so much!  (Note: My brother is very picky with his skincare products!)

There will always be a friend, a family member, a colleague who takes serious care of their hair and giving them the gift of "hair protection" is like giving a kid a bag of candies!

Think about hair treatment products, serums, hair shampoos and conditioners etc...

Black Beauty Fix, Protect and Shine
I love to create my own pack of goodies and tie them in a nice ribbon!  The gift says it all!  You are a friend who will be there to help fix his/her problems, protect him/her from harm and will always be there to cheer him/her on their moment to shine!

L'Oreal OpenEyes Pro
You can pick up the favorite shades of your recipient and whatever colors then plan to use in the palette will always match!  Pick from hues of browns, blues, greens and purples!  You'll make a "kikay" girl happy this season!

Majolica Majorca Trick On Powder Eyeshadow
I own around 3-4 palettes of Majolica Majorca Trick On Powder eyeshadow palettes and one thing will always comes to mind --- Daytime Look!  However you would like to use your Trick On Powder Eyeshadow, you will always look "made up" and it works for everyone!  Add on a bit more of the pigmentation and you're set for night out!

And just because I can't help but include this gorgeous Estee Lauder Pure Color Fall 2012 collection before the year ends, this is another great tip for YOU who don't mind spending a bit more, probably for yourself or for the closest people in our lives!

Estee Lauder Violet Underground

Benefit Brow Zings
Php1,600.00 (approx $40.00)

I know this post can get too long and overwhelming but really, there are still a lot more products to include for Holiday Gift Giving 2012!  A tip from me?  Always keep in mind the person you're giving gifts too!  What are their likes?  Their passion?  What tickles them?  I use that trick in purchasing gifts for my loved ones that's why I don't usually spend too much time on shopping!

Last but not the least, if you're out of imagination, give the gift of Good Vibes! :)

AMW Reviews: Human Nature Perfect Coverage Mineral Foundation

Who loves Mineral products?

*Raises hand* ME!

If you scroll back to my blog posts 3-4 years ago, you'll probably see some reviews on various mineral brands which I love to order online and put them on small tiny pots!  I love the process of tap, swirl and buff!  My first mineral product was from Bare Minerals and I can't count how many times I watched the instructional video!  I was that addicted!

Then boom!  After I finished my 2nd huge pot of Ellana Premium Blend Mineral Foundation, I went back to traditional compact foundation as I always wished mineral foundations would come in pressed powder form!

Guess what?  I'm glad more and more mineral makeup companies are hearing us out!  One of the brands that made me Proud to be Pinoy --- Human Nature came up with a Perfect Coverage Mineral Foundation.  Scroll down to read my thoughts!

Human Nature says ---
Perfect Coverage Mineral Foundation is formulated with multi-functional rice powder, bamboo powder, and Vitamin E to give medium to high coverage and help seamlessly cover imperfections! It leaves you only with a velvety soft matte finish, perfect complexion, flawless-looking, shine-free face... and not the harmful chemical ingredients found in regular foundations! Just the perfect match for your skin you’ve been waiting for!
Available in 4 Filipina-friendly shades:
  • Vanilla – Light
  • Honey – Fair
  • Caramel – Medium
  • Toffee – Morena
Size: 0.26 oz. (7.5g)
AMW says ---
Pros
  • Cute purplish packaging that has a huge mirror.
  •  Expiration date well printed on packaging.
  • Comes in shades that work for most Asian skin.
  • Build-able coverage.  From light (by using a brush) to medium to heavy!
  • Talc-free
  • Soft, smooth texture.
  • Easy to blend.
  • No scent.
  • Non-drying.  Skin looks healthy and moisturized.
  • Matte-finish.
Cons
  • Well, online shoppers?  It is difficult to pick the right shade for you without swatching the product.  Kindly read tips on how to deal with this.
Overall
Good coverage, smooth texture and has a good staying power.

Tips
  • Never drop the compact as mineral powder are softer in texture.
  • If you plan to buy online, I strongly suggest to PLEASE visit any Human Nature stores near you and swatch on each at least 2-3 shades to pick the right shades for you!  Online, I originally thought I'm a Caramel-Medium, but turned out a tad bit dark on me.
  • For retouch, use a fluffy brush to apply on areas that needed the extra coverage and leave the rest bare.  Applying too much foundation within the day will give unnatural finish.
  • If you have oily skin, always blot off excess oil before you use the sponge for retouch.
Will I repurchase?
Yes

To whom do I recommend this to?

People with sensitive skin, who loves to use Mineral foundation but dislikes the messy loose powder form.

Where to purchase and how much?
Online for introductory price of Php475.00 (approx $11.30) or visit Human Nature branches nationwide and branches and in all Beauty Bar outlets in Metro Manila.  Call (632) 931-5787 for nearest Human Nature branch.

Photos

Shade: Caramel - Medium
I personally think this would work not only for medium skinned girls but also for girls who don't mind having a hint of healthy than (me!)

Swatch on finger
Coverage is buildable

Applied all over skin using the sponge that comes with the compact.
(Since the shade is a tad bit darker on me, I applied light layer all over face and added more on areas that I would like to contour!  The product doubles up as a very natural contouring powder for me!  Smart eh? :P)

Coverage is good,
Skin looks fresh!

Do you still use mineral makeup products at present?
Would you give Human Nature a try?

Passion fruit seed oil is rich in vitamins A & C and has a calming effect on the skin. Unlike conventional make-up that use chemicals which may compromise your skin’s health, mineral makeup from Human Nature always promises to give you Only the Good -- no talc, no nano-particles, no mineral oil, no artificial dyes, no synthetic fragrance, no toxic ingredients.

Available in: Sweet Innocence and Enchanted Eyes

Ingredients:
Mica (CI 77019),Titanium dioxide (CI 77891), Zinc Oxide (CI 77947), Polyglyceryl-3-Laurate, Passiflora edulis (Passionfruit) Seed Oil, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Dicaprylyl Ether, Magnesium Stearate, Glyceryl Caprylate, Lauroyl Lysine, Tocopherol, Farnesol, Linalool (+/-) Manganese Violet (CI 77742)

AMW says ---
Pros
  • Cute plastic purple packaging.
  • Well printed manufactured and expiration date.
  • Comes with a good-sized mirror.
  • Shadows work on any skin tone.
  • Velvety smooth.
  • Pigmentation is quite good, can even be better with an eye primer on.
  • The free sponge that comes with the compact is actually good.
  • All 3 shades complement each other.
  • Not much fall outs and it lasts me the whole day even without primer.  The shade decreases a bit but it was bearable.  (Note: I do not have oily lids).
  • No eye irritations.
  • 100% natural.
  • Inexpensive.
Cons
  • Only 2 palettes available for now, I wish they'll come up with more color choices!  Waiting for something blue, something green and something neutral!
  • If you are looking for "wild" purple looks, it won't happen in this palette.
Overall
For a mineral eyeshadow that's free from chemicals, I am quite impressed with the quality of this pressed mineral eyeshadow.  Great for sensitive eyes!

Tips
  • If you have oily lids, use an oil control eyelid primer prior to eyeshadow application.
  • If you prefer to apply this wet, make sure to wet only "one" area so you can use the other areas for dry eyeshadow application.
  • To prevent black eye look, always line your eyes with your preferred liquid liner, pencil liner or gel liner.
  • Apply mascara AFTER eyeshadow application, the fall outs on the lashes can actually make your lashes appear thicker when you apply mascara afterwards.
  • Apply in various ways, using the free sponge applicator or brushes.
  • You do not need to use all 3 shades at once, you can mix and match and see which combination works for you.
Will I repurchase?
Yes.

To whom do I recommend this to?

Anyone who likes the combination of pink and violet eyeshadow.  The shades are not "in your face" black eye look, it gives out a nice warm color with a sheen.

Where to purchase and how much?

Priced at Php325.00 (approx $7.50) at Human Nature dealers and branches and in all Beauty Bar outlets in metro Manila.  Check out their site www.humanheartnature.com or call (632) 931-5787 for nearest Human Nature branch.

Human Nature Minaral Eyeshadow
in Enchanted Evening
L-R Smoked gray shade, Plum and Lilac

 Swatch on hand without base

Applied using all 3 shades on my eye
without base
Finished with gel liner

The gorgeous fall outs on my lashes
made my lashes "sparkly" in a very natural way

I have a reader asking for other natural mineral eyeshadow brands.
