Cauliflower Fritters Recipe

I was holding 3 bouquet of Cauliflowers and I don't know what to do with them!  I mean they are delicious right?  But I wanted to reinvent cauliflower since my sister-in-law will be dining here and she's not a fan of this vegetable.

I know it seems tedious but the taste is totally worth it!  I searched for ingredients in the kitchen and decided to come up with "Cheesy and Corny" Cauliflower Fritters (pun intended). And it was a huge success!!!

On the side is something healthier, Tinolang Manok (Chicken soup with green papaya and Chili leaves).

AMW Cooks: Bacon-Wrapped Asparagus and a Surprise Soup

Happy Tummy Day AMW Friends!
How are you?  I hope you are into cooking or if not, into food to be able to visit this site!  I know cooking is really not from talent but from interest!  Yes, there could be people out there who has talent to cook, I tell you -- I don't!  But I want to cook for my family and I'm happy whenever I cook, so I call this my de-stresser!  How do you feel about cooking?  Can you share me more recipes if you are good at it? :D

Now, asparagus is one of my favorite vegetables after Broccoli, whenever we have asparagus back home, I made sure to cook it in a way that everyone would like to eat it!  So I've thought it making it more flavorful by adding bacon into the dish!

Now, this dish is best if cooked with oven!  Since our oven was broken (long story)  I've decided to push through this dish with my measly non-stick pan!

How?  First, ingredients!

  • Asparagus
  • Bacon strips
  • For the sauce: Salt, Pepper, Garlic, Oyster Sauce, Soy Sauce, Sugar, Chicken Stock, Corn starch

AMW Cooks: Creamy Chicken with Broccoli

Hey AMW Friends!
Another AMW recipe!  You know what I realized?  My love for cream-based dish!  I'm glad Mr. AMW feels the same so it isn't difficult to feed him!  Well, we technically love the same types of food so I don't have to worry about what to cook for him!  As long as their delicious --  he's A-Okay!

So recently made Creamy Chicken with Brocoli dish!  As much as I would love to call this dish "Chicken Pastel", well, it isn't! Maybe, inspired by it!  When I think about Chicken Pastel, I am always reminded by the yummy Chicken Pastel from the caterer Verleo ---> who loves them too?

So this is my version, very simple and easy to do!

AMW Cooks: Tofu Burger

You know how much I love Tofu right?
As much as I would love to cook them everyday!  Well, I can't!  One issue I have with "supermarket Tofu" is that most of them tastes so sour you can't literally eat them!  If I want good, quality, tofu, I had to go to downtown Manila to grab one and no, I had no time for that!

So last week, since I was at an event at Rockwell, I grabbed a chance to shop at Rustans Supermarket in between meetings!  I found a pack of Tofu with Korean writing!  And it was an ultimate EUREKA moment because the Tofu tastes WONDERFUL!  I'm sorry I didn't get the chance to take a photo on the brand name but I will definitely do so because I will go back for more!

Inspired by the newly bought tofu, I originally thought of making Ma Po tofu but I planned to prepare this dish also for Kyle, I opted for something visually appetizing minus the spicy taste!

I'm not sure if you guys know "Pipa Tofu", I planned to do Pipa tofu but the extra step of "steaming" before pan-frying is too much for a busy mom with clingy son!  So I went straight ahead to pan-fried Tofu Burger!  The result?  YUMMY, HEALTHY GOODNESS!

AMW Cooks: Stuffed Ampalaya recipe.

Happy Sunday AMW Friends!
I will be sharing a healthy recipe today!  And the vegetable for the day?  Bittergourd (aka Ampalaya).

If you are flinching right this moment, let's do a quick *high five*.  I'm not a fan of ampalaya dish as well and I recalled picking only the middle part (the pork) when my mom cooks this for us!  Now that I'm older, I appreciate the bitter taste of ampalaya and I'm actually looking forward to it on each bite!  This is one dish that I'm proud to share (all thanks to my mom for being such a wonderful cook) and I hope non-bittergourd eaters will appreciate this as well!

Try at least 1 before you say NO :)

AMW Cooks: Sitaw Dish

If you recently got married and left your parents home, you probably felt what I felt like 7 years ago...actually, even today!  You'll definitely miss your mom's cooking!  (or whoever cooks for you when you were younger)

Mr. AMW's side of the family is carnivorous!  *laughs*  And my mom never cooks meat on their own, she always mix it with vegetables to make sure they are include din our diet!  So after the happiness of meat-eating for the first few years of our marriage, I suddenly missed vegetables!  Thanks to my mom's cooking, I was able to share a simple vegetable recipe that even a non-herbivore like my sister-in-law appreciates!  :)

Home-cooked Sitaw Dish (Yardlong Beans)

Ingredients:
  • Sitaw chopped into smaller pieces.
  • Ground pork.
  • Egg

AMW Cooks: Asparagus in Mushrooms and Ground Beef

Asparagus, what are other ways for me to cook them without the usual ground pork in soy sauce or oyster sauce?  Well, I've decided to change it into beef and added my favorite Enoki mushrooms for texture.

The recipe is very simple, here are the ingredients you need ---

AMW Cooks: Talong Burger (Eggplant Burger)

Happy Sunday!
It's about food once again and this is the second most requested recipe!  *yay*  Firstly, I want to thank everyone for taking interest in my simple cooking!  I appreciate all the love and vote of confidence over Instagram!

Back when I was a teenager, I dislike Eggplant so much I literally ran away from it!  My mom loves to cook "Tortang talong" but, because I would never touch Eggplant to save my dire life, instead of just mixture of egg and talong, she would include Pork and egg and I would scrape the meat off and leave the eggplant behind!

Now that I'm older, and wiser!  I love eggplant so much I don't mind cooking 2 dishes just because Mr. AMW doesn't like this vegetable!  And because I wanted to make it look more presentable, I created "Talong Burger" (eggplant burger) instead!

Just so you know, this tactic can fool your kids into eating vegetables!  :)  Baby AMW, you'll have your turn soon! :P
