Nail Art Tutorial: "Cherry Blossomy" nails

Happy Monday dear friends! :)

I am starting off with a positive note for a good vibes for the great week. I will start this week with a nail art tutorial. I've attended a wedding party over the weekend so I wanted something girly...yes...again! :P I am in love with flowery nails so I've decided to do some changes on my typical flowers! What's the difference? I made the flowers smaller to create a "Cherry Blossom-like" Nails. I said Cherry Blossom-like because it doesn't look like cherry blossoms! Trust me, Cherry blossoms look way prettier than this, but you get the drift :) It's an inspiration worth trying.

Here's my final look
Yes, we can't go wrong for bloody reddish nails
for any formal occasion :)

Step 1:

Apply your preferred base coat, I've used The Face Shop's Base coat and apply 2 coats of ELF Light Red polish. Let dry.

Note: Application of any dark polishes like this is a bit difficult, as you'll definitely have those dirty edges, don't worry, just leave it as it is and use a cotton bud to wipe the sides when nail polish gets dry.

Step 2:

Using white nail art pen, create dots of flowers, the more the better. Your choice of flower placing.

Step 3:

Apply a different shade for the flower bud. I've used a baby pink shade.

Step 4:

Using black Prettynails' art pen, connect the flowers which looks like "branches".

Step 5:

(Optional)
Apply Platinum Glitter polish from Caronia to create nice glitter.

Step 6:

Apply your favorite top coat. As usual, I've used The Face Shop's Top Coat. Let dry and enjoy!

If you don't have nail art pens, you can use toothpick or any dotting tool that has a round surface to create dots :)

Have a wonderful week everyone! Thanks again to all my lovely readers for keeping me happy with all the comments and sweet emails.
God bless!

Weekend Food Tripping at: Figaro Coffee

It was a bit of a stressful weekend as I've been expecting another huge typhoon coming. A lot of people are worried and people are rushing home. THANK God the Typhoon Pepeng did not push through, but you know, we cannot be relaxed as we expect a lot of typhoons coming for the weeks to come. I will be actively helping out for those victims of Typhoon Ondoy, in my own little ways.

Food tripping for this week did not happen over the weekend but it happened over the week days. We had another food tripping at Figaro Coffee as they serve not only good coffee but good food too! :)

Grilled Chicken
Php179.00 (approx $3.65)

Foccacia bread is my favorite,
strips of chicken - sweet and tasty

Classic Pepperoni Pizza
Php169.00 (approx $3.50)

Typical thin crust pizza topped with melted cheese
and pepperoni

Brewed Coffee
Php75.00 (approx $1.50)

I am not a fan of their in house brewed coffee,
but I got this for free
so no complaints! LOL

White Chocolate Mocha
Php105.00 (approx $2.15)

Expresso blend with steamed milk and white chocolate syrup
topped with whipped cream and chocolate shavings!
this is my favorite out of all the warm coffee they serve

Figaro Frost Mocha
Php115.00 (approx $2.35)

Mocha with lots of whipped cream served cold?
It's definitely anybody's dream
who's living in a tropical country
like ours :)

I finally went out with hubby to celebrate my nephew's 4th birthday! It was nice to see the whole family together again after all the canceled dinner due to the typhoon scare! :)

Hope your weekend food tripping is fun!
Take care!

Askmewhats Reviews: Liposan LipCare in Strawberry

I've done a review on Nivea Lipcare a few months back, just by looking at the packaging, Liposan/Nivea/Labello are from the same German company Beiersdorf. I got a Liposan Lipcare from a swap from Cris, I believe my dear local readers can purchase the same one under the brand Nivea.

Liposan LipCare says ---

Soft lips, fresh strawberry flavor and discreet red shine.

AMW says ---

Pros
  • light strawberry scent
  • moisturizes the lips
  • has a nice hint of "redness" but true to its description, very discreet
  • inexpensive
  • taste isn't yucky, it actually tastes and smells good
Cons
  • none!
Overall

This is one addictive balm! I've always wanted my balm to be minty fresh, but if I need to choose one that has a fruit flavor, I'll always go for strawberries! After I finish this up, I will surely repurchase Nivea Lip Care in Strawberry! I'd love to see if there's any difference at all! I doubt..but who knows? :D

This is definitely a keeper, if you are on a date, it's safe to use this as it doesn't leave a stain on your water glass or table napkin..or your man's collar! LOL <--- just joking!

Tips
  • check out the review on Pink Grapefruit from So Loverly
  • if you're aiming for "no makeup" look with soft lips, use this!
  • are you a makeup artist? And you need a subtle gloss for men's makeup? You can use this!
Will I repurchase?

Yes!

Where to purchase and how much?

Purchase locally as Nivea LipCare in Strawberry for Php89.75 (approx $2.00)

Here's a closer look of the cute packaging

The balm looks super red
but do not be afraid...

A swatch with and without flash
Has a tiny hint of "redness" and a lot of shine
(L- no flash, R- with flash)

Liposan LipCare in Strawbery on bare lips

Are you into tinted lip care products?
or do you prefer the clear version?

I Wonder: "Straight or Curly?"

My hair has always been on a safe mode. Either I tie it up on a ponytail or I let it flow. My only hair styling tool is my trusty Philips JetSet Control blowdryer or most of the time, as simple as a fan to dry my hair.

Then, I upgraded for a flat iron, because of my super layered locks, I wanted to create a bit of "volume" with a flat iron, so it's either a blowdryer or a flat iron, and I'll be fine!

Just like a baby who crawled first then started to walk and run. I am now using my curling iron more often! I've reviewed on my New 1.5 inches curling iron from Remington and I'm loving it.

So a question came into my head which I would like to know what YOU would say ---

I Wonder:
"Are you into straightening or curling your hair?"

**note: My hair color is the same,
just that the straight photo doesn't have a flash
and the curly hair photo has flash on :)

Hair products used ---

L'oreal Professional Texture Expert Bounce Whip

Nick Chavez Hollywood in a Bottle Volumizing Extra Hold Hair Spray

I am into curly hair nowadays. With the right curling product and right heat protection. I am game for lovely curly locks that lasts a day! :)
