Nail Art Tutorial: "I Dream of Cherry Blossoms"

Last Sunday, as I was cleaning my "Bears Who Care" nails, I was talking to Mr. AMW about our Seoul Trip last year and I told him how I wish to go back witness Cherry Blossoms Bloom!

That's when I started to Google search for images and see how gorgeous these are?

And here's my version, not as gorgeous as what's on photo above but it makes my heart flutter!  My nails turned from childish to sophisticated!  For a week :P

Step 1:

Prior to polish application, I applied a coat of ZOYA Anchor Basecoat.  Applied 2 coats of Wet N' Wild Red Rouge.  (Thanks Issa for this!  It's a gift from AMW Reader)

Step 2:

Using Winmax Nail Art Enamel No. 5 (L), draw branch like design just like photo below.  It's the best decision for me to purchase this inexpensive polish at Saizen, very easy to maneuver the brush!

Step 3:

Using 2-Way Nail Art Pen in White or any dotting tool, create dots for flower petals.  Make it random, some flowers have 5 petals, others 4 or even 3.  

Step 4:

With 2-Way Nail Art Pen in Pink, randomly apply in the middle portion to create flower bud.

Step 4: (Optional)

Apply Winmax Light Color Nail Enamel No. 4 or any shimmery polish on top of the nail art design.  Make sure the dots are completely dry!

Step 5:

Protect your nail art design with your preferred top coat.  I used ZOYA Armour Top Coat and UV Block.

AMW Bulletin: Clean & Clear Top Best Friends 2011

It's another year for Clean & Clear Top Best Friends!

 

Clean & Clear Top Best Friends is a region-wide search for the new best friend faces of Clean & Clear Asia!  This is a Facebook Application that asks female best friends to submit their "best friend" photos as their entry into the contest.  A local winner will be chosen for each of the 4 participating markets (Philippines, Singapore, Indonesia and India).  Each will represent the country and will be sent to Singapore for the Clean & Clear Beauty Camp!  After the camp, the contestants will ask Asia to vote for the best friend pair whom they believe should be the next faces of Clean & Clear!

I remembered rooting for our very own Mariel and Isa (I actually voted everyday!) who came in second after Indonesia who won Top Best Friends Asia 2010.

This year, it could be YOU and your Best Friend I'll be rooting for!

Who's eligible?
The Contest is open only to female citizens and residents of Singapore, Indonesia, India and Philippines aged 14years and above at the time of entry and who have registered online for the contest through the contest page on "Facebook".  Each participant is allowed to enter the Contest once to be a member of a pair of friends.  Multiple pairs of friends with the same participant will not be allowed.

How to enter?

No purchase necessary, except for Indonesia.

• During the Contest Period, participants may register online via www.facebook.com/cleanclearphilippines
• Click the Contest Link and follow onscreen instructions.

1. Submit the information requested
2. Upload a photograph of self and best friend and
3. Tell them about your friendship and why should you be the winners of Clean & Clear Top Best Friends for 2011 in about 500 words!

There are photograph guidelines you shall follow and participants who will join should not be under any other commercial contracts with any modeling agencies at the time of entering the contest!

AMW Reports: Launch of Majolica Majorca

The Grand Launch of Majolica Majorca in our country!  An event I've been waiting for!  The event was supposed to happen last March and was moved to a later date because of the Japan incident.

Playful, Fun and Whimsical....that's what we're asked to wear and I'm really excited for the said event because I'm really happy Majolica Majorca is available in our shores!

AMW Reviews: San San Soleil Lip Colour

Soleil is a French term for "sun".  It's the inspiration that HBC came up with to include it in their exclusive makeup line called San San.

When I got the 3 shades of Soleil Lip Colour, I used them right away because the packaging screams SUMMER and the colors call for "Sexy Summer!"

Here's my review for one of the brightest and happiest lipstick packaging I own....

San San Soleil Lip Colour says ---

• Comes in 3 variants - Nude Carribean, Peach Ibiza and Pink Tropics
• Neutral shades are very suitable for summer season.
• Enriched with Vitamins A, C & E

AMW says---

Pros

• Very cute packaging, you get the see the shade of the lipstick inside with the "peek-a-boo" packaging.

• Inexpensive.
• Creamy and applies smoothly.  
• You can adjust the pigmentation by applying more.
• I usually put the limited shade availability under "con" but with this range, it's an exception!  I like the fact that they are "right on" with the 3 shades!  One on the nude side, pink then orange!  
• Has SPF25 to care for the lips.

Cons

• The kiddie/candy-like scent!  I would prefer to have this fragrance-free! 

Overall

A great start-up!  If you plan to own nude, pink and orange lipstick without breaking the bank, the San San Soleil Lip Colour is a good start!  Keep in mind that these lipsticks are on the light to medium side in terms of pigmentation.  Toned down version of those lip colors actresses use on television.

Tips

• Dry lips? Prepare your lips by applying a good amount of lip balm or lip treatment prior to lipstick application.
• Blot lip balm before lipstick application to prevent lipstick from sliding off.
• After application, you can choose to press your lips on a clean tissue paper or pat it with loose powder for a matte finish.
• If you have concerns on the ingredients, I suggest you use a "lip erase" or conceal your lips prior to lipstick application for "protection".

Will I repurchase?
Well, I got all 3 shades in the line so no need to repurchase!

To whom do I recommend this to?
Anyone who likes to try pinks, orange and nude lips without the "attention-seeking" factor.
