AMW Revisits: Coastal Scents Bent liner Brush

I've reviewed Coastal Scents White Angled Liner Brush early this year!  I had this brush for more than 10 months and it's time for me to do a revisit.  It's not on a happy note...take a look at this...

And this was how the brush originally looked like

I still use it at the moment if I want to create a thicker line!  I am actually patient and tried to make this work and extend this life, but I have a feeling I will let this brush retire soon!  It doesn't hurt me much because this brush costs only $2.19!  Well of course, shipping isn't included but it's ok!  Nothing to lose sleep about!

Do you own a CS White Angled Liner Brush?
Is it still okay or do you also need to use a flat iron to iron the flyaways?

AMW Reviews: ELF Feather Proof Moisturizing Lipliner

Good morning everyone!!!  I want to thank you all for the wonderful comments and comforting words!  As expected Monday was a very tedious and tiring day but I survived it!  And I ended my day reading your lovely comments which puts a big smile on my face...seriously, you all are the best :)

I will review a product  that I snatched from dear friend Gracie, sis! thanks for this!  I'm glad to have the chance to try this product coz I won't purchase it down here because I'm not a lipliner person!  Glad to have tried this and glad to announce?  I've used this a couple of times, lip liners are useful actually on those days you feel your lips aren't defined enough! :)

E.L.F. says ---

Velvety Pro Vitamin Complex color caresses lips with naturally long-lasting, never feathering,  hydrating pigments.  Formulated to be used with any E.L.F. lip care product.

Ingredients
Paraffinium Liquidum (Mineral Oil), Cera Carnauba (Carnauba) Wax, Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Synthetic Beeswax, Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Rhus Succedanea Cera(Rhus Succedanea Fruit Wax), Stearic Acid, Petrolatum, Euphorbia Cerifera (Candelilla) Wax, Isopropyl Myristate, Butylene/Ethylene Copolymer, Blue No.1 Lake (CI 42090) ,Red No.28 Lake (CI 45410), Red No.40 Lake (CI 16035), Red No.6 Lake (CI 15850), Yellow No.5 Lake (CI 19140)

AMW says ---

Pros
  • inexpensive
  • very pigmented
  • staying power is good
  • the liner isn't too soft nor too hard, just right!

Cons
  • has a tiny hint of "crayon" scent
  • not "hydrating", it actually felt dry on my lips just like regular lip liners
  • can I add, DRY again? lol
Overall

If you are looking for a lip liner that's inexpensive and works, go for this!  I have a MAC lip liner and the texture is different compared to MAC but the difference isn't too far. Lip liners are just lip liners, I don't always use lip liners anyways!  This is a good inexpensive lipliner to try... PERIOD! :)

Tips
from ELF
Proper lip lining application should be performed prior to adding gloss or lipsticks.  Gently shade upper and lower lip back and forth until color intensity is desired.  Fill in entire top and bottom lips with pencil.  Apply second coat if desired.

from AMW
  • if you have super dry lips like mine, moisturize your lips prior to lipstick application, press your lips over a  tissue paper to remove the "oil" and start applying the lip liner
  • top over with your lipstick to create a nice base for the lipstick to last longer
Will I repurchase?
Yes!

Where to purchase and how much?
At local ELF counters for approximately Php125.00 (approx $2.70) and $1.00 for international<-- thanks Khymm for letting me know the price!

Here are the 2 close up shots of the lip liner
Spice is more on the brownish shade
closer to my natural lip color

Bitter is more on the dark red side

Swatch on hand

On lips, see how dry my lips are?
No lip balm, no top coat

Do you own an ELF Lip Liner?
What shade?  How do you find it?
Like it? Like to Toss it?

AMW Version: "Almost Matte" Look

Happy Monday!  I haven't been doing any AMW Version looks recently as I have been going through tough times!  Tough times isn't over but life has to go on and I have to move on and do the stuffs that makes me happy!

I haven't been doing any vibrant colored makeup lately, so I'm inspired to do one and I picked up the eyeshadow palette from Coastal Scents.  Here's what I came up with....

AMW Diagram

Step 1:
Using a flat shader brush, pat on the matte purple eyeshadow from the CS 78pcs Makeup Palette.  Pat it all over the lid area going a little bit above the crease area.  Add as desired.
Do not forget to apply the same shade on the lower lash line.

Step 2:
Using a crease brush, apply the outer v area with a dark bluish purple shade and blend.

Step 3:
Using a bigger blending brush, blend all the shades with a dark brown eyeshadow.  Reapply as needed.

Step 4:
Highlight the browbone area and inner corner of the eye with a white eyeshadow.

Step 5:
Line the upper lashline and lower lashline with Coastal Scents' Gel Liner in True Black using CS Bent Liner.

Apply 2 coats of your favorite mascara
after curling the lashes with Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler

Do not forget to fill in your brows
with your favorite pencil liner
or eyebrow powder

Here's my final look

What's on the rest of my face?

Happy weekend food tripping everyone!  I am seriously busy with a lot of stuffs but I certainly do not forget to STOP, REST and EAT.  Dining and spending quality time with my husband is priceless, whatever anxiety or concerns I may be feeling can be temporarily put on hold.

This weekend's food tripping is all about affordable Japanese Restaurant.  There's always Teriyaki Boy, SumosamKarate Kid , Jipan & Sakura and Ajisen Ramen.  Those are a few of those affordable Japanese Restaurant I've tried. And the list will go on and on....

Sushi-Ya Restaurant has been around and visible for quite some time but I didn't take time to really stop and look at their menu!  I don't know why but I've always thought this restaurant is pricey!  As you all know, I'm a bit allergic to overly expensive stuffs!  Over the weekend, we were craving for something that warms the tummy, something filling as I have been stressing out on a lot of stuffs and I seriously needed a full meal! :)
