AMW Version: Happy Heart's Month Look

Happy Wednesday AMW Friends!
Today, as promised, I will be sharing an "AMW Version" post a.k.a. step-by-step makeup tutorial as inspired by the "Heart's Month".  I've created day time and night time Valentine's day look on my last post using L'Oreal Color Riche lipsticks and the night time looks won with a landslide!  I guess you guys are tired seeing me in neutral looks huh? Well, all your wishes are my command!  Thanks for emailing me your requests and I'll try my best to do more looks and more tutorials!

Here's how it looks like when I'm doing the "dramatic" look *lol*

Are you ready for picture-laden tutorial?

Step 1:
Don't forget your skincare routine!  After doing so, choose your favorite primer and sunblock!  For this tutorial, I gave primer a skip as I want my skin to breathe as much as possible.

For foundation, I picked Lancome Teint Miracle in shade O-04.  I dispensed a pump on top of my Beautycornerph Acrylic Makeup Palette.

Using my favorite Charm Luxe Flat Top Brush, I gently stipple the foundation all over my skin and gently blend outwards.  (Tip from AMW: Stipple on areas that need the most coverage and buff out the areas the rest of the face.)

Step 2:
I choose to do concealing after foundation as there are times foundation is enough to conceal whatever needs to be concealed!  As for this tutorial, I used my favorite Ben Nye Media Pro HD NK-1 Conceal-All-Wheel.

I picked the salmon shade concealer to hide my undereye darkness using my fingers with a dabbing motion.

Step 3:
Using the lightest concealer shade, I highlighted the key areas of my face so I can skip "contouring".  (Must read: Transforming your concealer into highlighter)

Step 4:
I like to start with my brows.  Since I had my highlights done by Matrix Philippines, I need to lighten up my dark brows with Kiss Me Heavy Rotation Coloring Eyebrow.

Step 5:
I like filling in the rest of my brows with my favorite brow powder from Benefit called Benefit Brows-A-Go-Go, too bad this is not available in the local market, feel free to look for Brow Zings.  Light or medium is the best shade for color-treated hair.

Step 6:
For the eyeshadow to pop, I like to use a light colored cream eyeshadow or shadow pencil, most beauty bloggers LOVE to use NYX Jumbo Pencil in Milk, as for me, I like the natural effect of Benefit High Brow.

I applied Benefit High Brow all over my lid and below the lower lash line.

Step 7:
Since I seldom wear pink shadows, I've decided to pick MAC Sushi Flower shadow for this season of love!

I applied this shade on the crease blending the shadows to prevent harsh lines.

Step 8:
For a nice change, I like pairing pink and purples to show the girly side of every woman.  I used Milani eyeshadow in SHOCK and applied it on my lower lashline.

Step 9:
I like using 2 shadow shades for the crease area so I've decided to pick another one to "deepen" it with MAC Coppering.  This is a gorgeous shimmery copper shade perfect for any skin color!

Step 9:
To deepen my crease area, I picked Milani Eyeshadow in STORM and apply on the outer-v as well as 3/4 of the lower lash line.

Additional Tips:
Don't forget to line your eyes using your favorite eyelining styles.  I prefer to just line mine close to the upper lash line using my favorite K-Palette 24H Real Lasting Eyeliner Waterproof in Black.

And of course, don't forget to curl your lashes and apply coats of your favorite mascara!  I prefer to apply mascara after eyeshadow application as the fallen eyeshadow pigments on the lashes can help volumize your lashes when you apply mascara! :)

Step 10:
Since I'm opting for strong lips, I opted for natural cheeks using MAC Super Duper Natural Mineral Blush.

Additional blush tip:
If you want to have a bit of contour on your cheeks, use a bronzer as your blush or use any earth-toned blush shade.

In the photo below, I used Benefit Box O' Powder in Dallas.  See how it helps make my cheeks pop?

Step 11:
After all the "chit-chatting" I'm finally on my lips!  This is one of my favorite lipstick collection to date, the L'Oreal Color Riche Le Rouge range!  The color is Viva Red.

Final Look

Put up a smile and you're ready to go! :)

Hope you enjoyed my simple, easy-to-follow (I hope) tutorial!
Let me know if you have other requests! :D

Have a wonderful day!

    1. Sure, I understand what you mean, there are definitely darker looks but since we're talking about Valentine's Day, in my opinion, guys like women in lesser makeup :D
