Hello Caramel Brown!

 

Since the break of COVID-19, you've probably noticed how I have been doing "professional' thing at home.  Such as haircut, hair color and even nail care!  

I used to regularly go to my favorite salon Hairshaft Salon for my hair color, but not going to salon doesn't mean I will just leave my white hair peeking out!  Thankful I have a Mister who is used to coloring my hair even before I started blogging!

I bought Revlon Colorsilk Luminista online at Shopee under Revlon Mall. It costs Php425.00 and I am very happy with this product line.  The old Revlon Hair Color I've tried have a strong chemical smell and dried my hair.  The Colorsilk Luminista smells better, my husband did not complain about the scent and I love how even the color was!  

Best of all, with proper conditioning and care, my hair was back to its' healthy state unlike other hair coloring treatment which ended up drying my hair! 

I will definitely repurchase the Colorsilk Luminista, something probably lighter but Caramel Brown is really beautiful!  What do you think?

Magnolia Ready-To-Cook Chicken Meals

 

Hi AMW Friends!
Happy Sunday!  My brother had his emergency appendectomy as his appendix burst and it was all crazy!  My brother live with my parents, unmarried and my mom is old to look after him and I can't stay in the hospital overnight as I have my own son to look after for.  

It was CRAZY!  But things were in place for some miraculous reason.  He was able to go through his surgery and was safe (Thank God!).  My dad's Caregiver was the one who stayed in the hospital as the hospital rules changed due to Covid scare.  They do PCR tests and they are not allowed to leave the hospital for the whole duration of stay.  That said, my mom is left to take care of my dad which is IMPOSSIBLE as my dad is bedridden and my mom is around 77 years old!  

My sister and I made a plan to go to my mom's place and scheduled to cook for them and help them feeding my dad and include household chores as well.  

Because I was too hyper cooking various dishes that would last the whole day, I ended up coming back home TIRED and too lazy to cook for my family.  Nakaka-guilty but I am only human!  I can't deal for long hours in the kitchen again after returning home and also ....time constraint! 

Thankfully, there are easy-to-cook dishes available that are really delicious!  I mean I wouldn't feed my own family dishes that tastes like "chemical", if you know what I mean.

I trust Magnolia when I buy chicken so I trust I get fresh, good quality chicken.  Magnolia Chicken Timplados comes in --- Fried Chicken, Oriental Wings, Spicy Wings and Chicken Teriyaki.

So yes, sobrang sarap all the flavors and it doesn't require a lot of prep in the kitchen!  God's answer to a tired and busy mom!

Silkygirl Gen Matte Lip Cream in Red Rebel

 

I have been shying away from Red Lipstick especially since we always wear mask whenever we go out.  Imagine removing the mask with lipstick all over your face?  

*CRINGE*

But nothing can stop me from wearing a red lip color that has the right hue making it a perfect "black dress" for my lips.  My lips are dry and plump, wearing the wrong shade would scream "Big Lips walking down the street."  *laughs*  I know, you are starting to imagine about it right?

Back to this lip color, it was love at first swipe.  Can you just tell how confident I was wearing this color 08 Red Rebel?

Silky Girl's Gen Matte Lip Cream are ultra-creamy and highly pigmented with a matte-finish.  I love how it does not dry out my lips and the color lasts long.  It does fade a bit and transfer through mask but I still have a lot of the color left on my lips!  

I actually have the complete shades of the SilkyGirl Gen Matte Lip creams but I was reaching out for this more often because of the color!  I can wear light makeup and look made up with only a lipstick!

Driver’s License Renewal tips

 

Hi AMW Friends!
My driver's license expired on my birthday last February 2022.  Because of COVID, I did not renew my license until recently.  

There are a lot of queries from AMW friends on Instagram that is why I've decided to create this content for easier understanding.

First, you can start renewing your license 60 days before expiration date.  

Second, you need to register online at LTO Portal.

After Registering, go back and do the Validation exam as boxed below.

Once you pass the exam, you will be emailed the PASSING Certificate from LTO, print it out and bring it with you at LTO centers.

BYS Cosmetics Han So Hee Lip Nectar Review

 

We all know Han So Hee as the irritating Mistress from "The World of Married" but in reality, she is a pretty Hallyu star with great acting skills!  She is effortlessly beautiful (no wonder she got the Mistress role).  Even with the negative characters she played, that doesn't stop brands from getting her as a face because of her unique beauty.

Han So Hee recently collaborated with BYS Cosmetics for their Lip Nectar (Php499.00).  Known as the easy-to-apply liquid lipstick with velvety-soft matte finish, I am impressed not only with the quality but also the shade choices!  They were created in mind for all skin tones.

There are a total of 8 shades in this collection, the shade names are after flowers - Blossom, Cherry, Tulip, Poppy, Rose, Dragonlily, Orchid and Poison Ivy.

After using these randomly on several occasions, here are my thoughts about these Lip Nectars:

• Very nice packaging and applicator.  Applicator is perfect to define lips or create blurred lips.
• Cute transparent tube, making it easy for me to know the shade without reading the shade names.
• No scent or weird taste.
• Does not dry lips.
• No flaky lips.
• Applies smoothly, texture is great!
• Consistency is thin and non-sticky.
• Transfers on face mask but a chunk is still left on lips.  Lasts around 4-5 hours with eating and drinking.  The color fades but still 50% stays.

Korean Drama Hair in 5 Minutes Less

 

I have been practicing, learning, and doing a lot of people's hair for a decade!  I find it more difficult to style my own hair because....self explanatory!

With the pandemic, I've got more time to practice and I've unlocked a lot of hairstyles whether simple or complicated ones.  I believe that learning never ceases.  

So today, I am sharing Korean Drama hair!  The style that seems "undone" but very pretty!  Like how could Korean actresses get perfect hair on a scene they just woke up?

Here's a simple look inspired by Korean Drama.  If there's no makeup makeup look, I call this a No Hairstyle Hairstyle!

Tada!  Seems like this is my normal hair look right?  Nah!  My hair is stick straight with a lot of frizz in between!

You only need a a 1.5 inch curling iron (I used Remington) and only need to section your hair into 4!  (Depending on how thick your hair is!).  Imagine, I was able to do this hairstyle in 5 minutes less!

If you want your hairstyle to stay longer, use a heat protectant mist for curl like that from Fuwarie and finish off the look with another spritz or light hairspray!

Busy Mom-Friendly FOTD and OOTD

 

When you shop online for current fashion trends.  You see a lot of cute cropped tops!  I find these inexpensive yet easy to match with whatever you have in the closet.  More importantly, aside from less than Php100 price points, you get a whole lot of colors to choose from!  Here's a cute top I got from Shopee recently for only Php88.00!

Shop Sachi String Cotton Woven Self Tie Tube Garter Daily Top.

When you wear such top and you are not confident showing your tummy, make sure to wear high waist pants like my maroon flowy pants that I own for many years!  

I also pair this cute top with a nice keepsake from Sacred Elements Jewellery.

It was well paired with a similar earrings that I got with the necklace!  This meant so much to me because Kyle was the one who picked the color combination and design!

Philippine Independence Day Nails

 

I've always wanted to do Philippine related nail art but I understand how people could get really sensitive nowadays!  So I try my best to do representations instead!  I picked the Philippine Flag colors and drew 3 stars and Sun with 8 rays.

Douyin Blush Look

 

Nars launched their Air Matte Mousse in the midst of pandemic but that does not stop me from wearing them since I got them!

And now that things are going back to normal, I am more excited to create new and exciting looks with the said Air Matte Mousse.  I've been seeing Douyin look on Tiktok (Douyin is a Chinese version of Tiktok) and the girls usually do their makeup with exaggerated blush application close to the eye area!

Does this look work for girls in the 40s?  Do I look trying hard?  You be the judge!  But please be EXTRA NICE :P

The Douyin Blush trend consists of applying blush not only on the undereye area but also on the nose!  Most of the time, the blush shade used are the bright ones - not the subtle ones so I particularly picked Nars Air Matte Mousse in shade Scandalous - the darkest shade among the 3 blush I own.

In person, it does look a bit too exaggerated and I probably won't do this on regular days, I will do this trick only when I do video calls or if I want to take cute photos! :P

SkinRX Lab’s MadeCera Line Review

 

Since the launch of Skincare with no frills - a.k.a. Skin RX Lab.

I immediately tested and used their dermatologic grade products made for all skin types!  I am glad they veered away from the usual 10-step Korean routine and went for a simpler route - multifunctional and effective.

The 3 products I got during the launch to test!  

The Madecera Cream (Php765.00 for 15ml tube and Php1,845 for 50ml tube) is our Skin RX Lab’s most popular product with over 1.5 millions sales globally. It’s a multi-function product that brightens, moisturizes and helps address aging. 

I also get to try the Madecera Mild Whipped Cleanser (Php895.00 for 10ml) and Madecera Sleeping Mask (Php1,095 for 50ml).  They also include some of their masks for Php115.00 per pack.  

Let us start by talking about Madecera Mild Whipped Cleanser.  

Looking at the "whipped" texture and name, don't be fooled by it.  The product is so potent and thick you can actually lather it into a big foam even with just less than a pea-size amount.  During the launch, some of the guests ask if this product can also remove makeup and I tested it out with full face makeup and true enough, it can remove all traces of makeup EXCEPT waterproof mascara and liner because I try not to get the product into my eyes.

I also like the mild scent and how it kept my skin soft and smooth without the dryness!

What about the star product from the brand Madecera cream?  I chose to use this once a day only in the morning!  I use only this product after face washing and top it with a sunblock.  I find this cream to be super potent and thick in consistency.  You have to use a little amount and apply sparingly if you don't like the heavy feel.  I felt this product is great especially on people with combination skin - you can easily look for dry areas or patches around your face and apply a good amount and you'll feel instant hydration.  The wonderful part is, hydration stayed the WHOLE DAY!  My skin never felt dry the whole day when I started using this.

How will oily-skin user feel about using this "heavy cream" product?  Don't worry, the product finishes off matte so you have this feel of a cream on your face but it doesn't look like you have anything on!  I blame our humid weather that's why this is perfect for anyone who are staying inside the air conditioned room!  If you are always outside under the sun and on the go, maybe go for the sleeping mask instead as that is lighter.

Helix-D Eye Serum Review

I am a PRO-eye care.  I've mentioned in this blog (and in person to friends) so many times how important eye products are.  I have seen (myself) a photo of my eyes up close before using an eye product and after.  It may not be visible when you look at the overall face, having it zoom in close to the macro lenses can tell a different story.

I see lines disappeared - shorter!  Lessened by cm.

I see puffiness lessened.

I see how darkness were lessened too!

Truth be told, I should not be a proud reviewer because I sleep around 3am earliest every single day since my son started his summer vacation!  That said, the extra darkness on my eye area may be more visible these days than before.  But what is remain constant is my constant application of Helix-D eye serum every night - I said every night because I am so lazy to do eye care in the morning!  That is why it took me months (more than half a year) to finally put up a review on this product. 

For your information, I am already half way done with this product.  I have been using with my new RF wand and most of the time with my clean fingers.  I just started using this recently with the RF wand so I think the effect is NOT from the RF want yet but from the product itself.  Now let's start with my thoughts and if you should shell out more than Php3,000 for this eye product!

Helix-D Eye serum says ---

• Helps reduce the look of fine lines & crow's feet.
• Helps lighten the look of dark circles.
• Reduces and removes puffiness around the eyes.
• Supports collagen renewal.
• \Increases skin firmness and improves skin texture.
• Helps prevent the appearance of wrinkles around the eyes.

AMW says ---

• Pump packaging so this is very hygienic.
• Clear packaging so you have an idea how much product is left.
• The texture is almost like water!  It starts with gel and goes to water-like form!

• Hydrates the  undereye area instantly and it gives a "brightened effect" due to the glossy finish.
• Works as a great makeup base!  Works well underneath concealers.
• Darkness lessened after 3 months usage (visible to the naked eye).
• Skin around the eyes felt tighter and firmer.
• Goes well with my skincare devices.
• No sting or eye irritations.
• The only downside I can say is how the pump is so hard to manage!  You get surprised with a whole blob of product coming out on a single pump!  I wish they do something to fix this!

Vaseline Lip Care Tube in Rosy

 

Even though I wear mask whenever I go out, I make it a point to wear hydrating lip products to keep my lips from getting dry and rough from the friction between lips and mask!  

The most problem people usually failed to notice!  Most concerns fall on skin - that explains maskne, but little does people realize, our lips are taking the most burden!

I was sent a couple of tubes of Vaseline Lip Care (Made in Korea!) and I took it on a side for a while as I have this personality of finishing up whatever I am currently using before opening a new one!

Finally, after more than 2 years into the pandemic, I gave this 100% Vaseline Jelly a try!  A well-known brand for lip care!  I tested this product and I am happy to announce that this surpasses my expectations!  

I knew Vaseline is good, well-trusted, but it is always NOT ENOUGH for my dry and parched lips!  Thankfully, this particular product offers more!

Vaseline Lip Care does not only hydrate my lips instantly upon application, it kept my lips looking moist and healthy throughout the day!  It is smooth, non-sticky, non-greasy and stays that way for longer time as compared to the old version!

Summer Hairstyle!

 

Ah, the weather is so crazy nowadays!
It gets super hot in a couple of hours then it'll suddenly rain for a couple of minutes making it extra sticky and humid! 

I used to be called a --- cold blooded mammal!  *laughs*

I can stay inside a sauna bath for 30 minutes and starts to break into sweats a few minutes before I leave the sauna.  PORE-LESS to be exact!  But things have changed because...Global Warming! 

Especially I stay and work from home most of the time, I find myself moving more because I need to --

1. Work

2. Take care of my son.

3. Cook

4. Work again

5. Hold meetings.

and a whole lot more and in between those tasks I felt the perspiration tickling down from my scalp to the back of my neck!  It is seriously gross but #REAL .

Found a perfect hairstyle to confuse my head perspiration to move around the braid before it tickle down to my face!  hahahah seriously, no Science behind this - solely based from experience! 

And easy side braid on my hair and thigh it up in ponytail!  I felt fresher, more in the mood to move around!  Seriously, an old hairstyle that works!
