SilkyGirl Hi-Definition Brow Liner Review

 

Brow liner pencils are something I really work with because it is perfect for daily and easiest to use.  

But how good should a brow liner pencil be in my humble opinon?

It must come with various shades to choose from, it must have powdery and natural finish and it SHOULD stay until make up removal!

I recently tried SilkyGirl’s newest shades of Hi-Definition Brow Liners, they have 3 in the past and released 3 new ones.

I probably have one of the most dehydrated lips as a Beauty Blogger here in the Philippines! :P  For once, I am quite proud of it huh?  :P

That said, I can't seem to enjoy Matte Lipsticks like most Beauty Reviewers.  They can show close up gorgeous lips while I can't - you'll just see a SEA OF CRACKS :P  So anyhoo, I am sharing lipsticks that I am proud to wear daily!

So anyways, SilkyGirl is a drugstore brand that has been making rounds in the Beauty world.  They are inexpensive yet most of their products deliver.  I have always been a fan of their Matte Cushion Foundation, their Eyeliner pencil is an unsung hero - glides on so smoothly and stays!

They have been releasing new products - including fragrances but these 2 lippies caught my attention immediately.

Silkygirl Gen Matte Lip Cream in Red Rebel

 

I have been shying away from Red Lipstick especially since we always wear mask whenever we go out.  Imagine removing the mask with lipstick all over your face?  

*CRINGE*

But nothing can stop me from wearing a red lip color that has the right hue making it a perfect "black dress" for my lips.  My lips are dry and plump, wearing the wrong shade would scream "Big Lips walking down the street."  *laughs*  I know, you are starting to imagine about it right?

Back to this lip color, it was love at first swipe.  Can you just tell how confident I was wearing this color 08 Red Rebel?

Silky Girl's Gen Matte Lip Cream are ultra-creamy and highly pigmented with a matte-finish.  I love how it does not dry out my lips and the color lasts long.  It does fade a bit and transfer through mask but I still have a lot of the color left on my lips!  

I actually have the complete shades of the SilkyGirl Gen Matte Lip creams but I was reaching out for this more often because of the color!  I can wear light makeup and look made up with only a lipstick!

Silkygirl GEN MATTE Cushion Foundation Review

 

Silkygirl is a drugstore brand that I’ve tried so many times because of checking other Beauty Bloggers’ review, especially those I follow from Singapore and Malaysia.  I am happy the brand is widely available locally with a wide range of makeup and even skincare products!

I recently get to try their newest foundation called the Silkygirl GEN MATTE Cushion Foundation.

- This lightweight, oil-free foundation blends and melts into the skin without weighing it down, giving you a second-skin effect while providing the right amount of coverage to keep skin flawless.  Upon application, skin stays hydrated for up to 24 hours, so you don’t have to worry about those pesky foundation patches caused by any dry skin.

Half face test 

As you can see, there is a light amount of coverage based from my half face test.  I applied 2 -3 layers of the foundation and the effect is almost skin-like and very natural to look at.  It is great news for those who prefer to use foundation with a tinted foundation effect.  No matter how much you apply, it yields a natural result.  With that, to thoes who are looking for mediumt o heavy coverage foundation may find this to be lacking in that department.  

How to: Bigger Eyes with Just an Eyeliner

 

Lesser and lesser people are wearing makeup nowadays.  “Why bother?” They would say as half of our faces are covered with face masks - thank you OMICRON for coming into our lives this 2022!  #Nothanks

But that does not stop me from using brow products and eyeliner.  Eyeliner was the first makeup tool I used in college (after lipsticks)  and I remembered looking like a fool as I applied it so darkly shaping my whole upper and lower lashline.  

If you studied makeup artistry, you would know that is a huge NO - NO!

To my dear friends who have the same small eyes as I do.  Here’s a trick on how to enlarge your eyes without the need for eyeshadow.  I just used a waterproof pencil liner in dark brown.  Yes, the color makes a huge difference, go for Dark Brown or Dark Gray instead of black!  Black could appear too harsh on a bare eye makeup look!  

I’ll stop blabbling, here’s the half face look.

More importantly, it appears like I have eyeshadow on because you need to blur out harsh lines from the eyeliner making it appear smoked out.  So the quality of the eyeliner is very important.  I used SilkyGirl Perfect Stay 20 Hour Dark Brown Eyeliner Pencil for this particular look.

SilkyGirl MLBB LipTints Review

 

Silkygirl, as a drugstore brand, has a lot of makeup products that earns 2 thumbs up from me.  One of my favorite are their Go Matte Lipcolors which I tried and tested 5 years ago (2016).  Why does 2016 seems like such a long time ago????

Ah, back to the topic.  They came up with their new MLBB Lip Tints and these are housed in not only my most favorite packaging in the world (for lip tints) - which is doe foot applicator tube.  Here’s a better news, the size is perfect for lipstick lovers.  Half the size of a regular lip tints or glosses!  

PACKAGING - CHECK!

This water-based lip tint is enriched with Grape juice extract and Aloe Vera extract to keep your lips smooth and moisturized all day. It also gives your lips a plumped-up effect and more importantly, it feels weightless on your lips. Available in 5 highly pigmented shades that flatter every skin tone and provide all-day staining power.

I don’t have the exact shade names but they are numbered 01, 02, 04 and 05 which I swatched them in that order from top to bottom respectively.

Based from swatches, you can see that the brand stayed true to the “tint” name.  They do appear like most tints we know but a little bit more pigmented.

Is it good?  YES!  Well, let me explain.

SilkyGirl Perfect Stay 20 Hr Eyeliner Review

My favorite eye liner pencils have been smudging on me lately.  It must be the fact that this writer (who used to be super dry skin) is now turning to have normal and sometimes oily skin from all the skincare products I've been using - Hello Hyaluronic Acid!

So I am back, on the quest to finding another great eyeliner pencil that would work for our country - humid and hot!

I recently tried SilkyGirl's Perfect Stay 20HR Eyeliner pencils.

Pros

• Retractable pencil, comes with sharpener located at the bottom.
• Waterproof and smudge-proof (to certain extent)
• Does not smudge on me.
• Available in 2 most used shades or most useful shade of eyeliner (in my humble opinion).
• The pigmentation is really good. One swipe you get opaque color!
• No need to tug your eyes as it glides like a dream!
• Inexpensive

Cons

• It isn't 20HR wear for me, it does not smudge but some areas tend to disappear (especially on the waterline).

Overall

I love the fact that there is a pencil liner that is inexpensive that works!  It stays on my eyelid and waterline for good 5-6 hours without smudging or smearing (as long as I don't use it on workouts!  Who does?)  I used this on normal occasion - running errands, take my son to and from school and so far so good.  It stayed and by end of 6th hour, I find some areas to be disappearing but that is better than having Panda eyes!

SilkyGirl Perfect Brow Liner & Powder Review

Yes, that's me and my crazy half face brows once again!

I have a kick seeing my 1 brow naked 1 brow drawn photos!  I just like seeing how big transformation a "filled and defined" brow can give!  Do you feel the same?

I roadtested the newest brow product from the brand SilkyGirl.  I got a package from them with various new product launches and I picked this up right away because a girl can't get enough of brow products - let alone Brow Pencils!

SilkyGirl Quick Fix Care Concealer Review

Concealing correctly - a key to a perfect-looking skin without piling too much!  

For someone who isn't getting any younger, you'll see that my choice of makeup gets lesser and lesser by the day!  

I've done so many Get Ready with Me on AMW IG TV and you'll see that I almost can't live without concealers nowadays!  I can say bye bye to foundation but NOT concealers.

I've tried so many concealers and I don't discriminate based from their price points!  I am always on a lookout for good ones no matter what the price tag is!

I recently tried SilkyGirl Quick Fix Care Concealer and this is included in my inexpensive yet effective concealer list.

 

The concealer is straightforward, it says "Care Concealer" because of the added benefits in the ingredients.  Let me be judgmental for a moment and talk about the packaging!  In ALL cream or liquid concealers, I like them in doe-foot applicator-type of packaging - I've said that so many times and Stila Lipgloss didn't do well on me because for the same fact that the packging is similar to this one from SilkyGirl.

I dislike the "click click" pen type packaging and I dislike the fact that the brush is left with "old concealer" after every use.  I had to wipe them off with a makeup remover wipes every single time I use the product which I feel isn't necessary for other concealer brands! 

 For a new product, you need to click approximately 40-50 times before you start to see the product come out.  Once it comes out, the next clicks would be easier.

Silkygirl is an inexpensive makeup brand that actually impressed me!  Their Silkygirl MatteJunkie Lip Cream  is actually part of my Top 5 favorite inexpensive liquid matte lipsticks to date.  Aside from that, I was impressed with with the lightweight, great texture of the SilkyGirl Skin Perfect Liquid Foundation and thankfully they came up with a couple of shades to choose from.  If you're a powder user, you may look into Silkygirl Magic BB All-In-One Powder foundation which I also reviewed.

If you ask me, I will categorize SilkyGirl as a brand you can look into if you are just starting out on makeup!  They have good basic makeup line from  SilkyGirl Magic BB All-in-One Powder Foundation to lip products that I really love - SilkyGirl Matte Junkie Lip Creams.

They are inexpensive yet they deliver.  But who would've thought they would up their game for the year 2018?

When I posted about my new powder foundation from SilkyGirl, I've read raves on my comment box and private inbox and was told this is hailed to be one of the best Asian brand powder foundation.

Because of that statement, I immediately picked this one up and used it for a good full month.   The powder comes in 4 shades (01 Ivory, 02 Natural, 03 Medium and 04 Rose Beige) and I immediately picked 02 Natural which has a good amount of "warm" undertone perfect for my skin.

So I realized I have been talking about lipsticks and sharing swatches of different lipstick colors almost EVERY Monday!  Please don't judge me, you can't blame me when I say: "Wearing lipstick is one of the easiest way to change your look!"
