Lululun Cleansing Balm Review

I have reviewed a couple of makeup cleansing balms in the past and they are all good.  They work well and they do remove makeup!  But none of them really struck a chord until I tried Lululun Cleansing Balm!

I started to know about the brand through their face masks, I've tried them year 2017 and ended up buying a lot for my Balikbayan Aunts and they love it so much and asked me to purchase more to be sent to them in Canada through a relative.

So that is established, their face masks are good.  But how in the world does a face mask brand (without make up products) can create make up removers so good I literally can't stop blabbing about them?

Their cleansing balms come in 2 variants -

Lululun Rich Moist and Lululun Clear Black
Php950.00
Available HERE

I obviously went for the Rich Moist variant because I have normal/dry skin.  Each box comes with a cleansing balm with flip top cap --- which is smart by the way!  and it also comes with a spatula!  I seldom use the spatula and I tend to just use the back of my fingernail and grab a dime size because I am lazy like that :P  Please do not follow me.

1 dime size is honestly enough for my eye makeup (because I don't wear a lot!) and the rest of my face.

According to product description, Lululun Cleansing Balm Rich Moist can remove make up, dirt and oil and melts all traces of it.  Improves dull and rough skin by gently removing dead skin cells for that silky smooth finish.

When they used the term "MELTS" - I couldn't agree more.  This is one of those few balms that literally melts on skin LIKE BUTTER!  And best of all, it does not hurt my eyes and blur my vision.  It was just a dream to use so I have been using this every since I got these.

I do not plan to use this other variant as I already shared this to my sister who has oily skin.

YADAH Green Tea Pure Cleansing Balm Review

I lived and breathe Cleansing Oils ever since I learned about Shu Uemura!  Thank goodness for more alternative (and inexpensive brands) out there because I use them up so fast!

I usually get offers to review products and I don't mind how big or small a brand is as long as their product offering interests me!  When Aviance Shop reached out to me to try out their Aqua Micellar water without any expectations, I said yes because I've always been a fan of micellar water and my face is always ready to try new products that could be worth my time and effort.

So, I told you they do not expect any blog post or review from me, for the fact that I'm creating one made specially for them means one thing --- I LOVE this product and it deserves a space on my blog!

Biore Micellar Cleansing Water Moist Up Review

I love makeup removal, I immediately remove my makeup whenever I get home and since I came from a Chinese family who are mostly serious about not washing your face when you're tired, Micellar Waters are heaven-sent because I can immediately remove my makeup without water!  (Note: I still wash my face after because I love double cleansing!)

Because of that, Micellar waters are a staple on makeup removal routine.  I have finished up various brands and tried both inexpensive and expensive brands!

a photo of Biore Micellar Cleansing Water Moist Up Review

Today, I will be sharing a review on one of the most positively-reviewed brand called Biore!  It comes with 2 variants --- Oil Control and Moist Up.  I obviously chose the latter because I have dry skin!

If I may have to add, thank you to BRANDS who make skincare products meant for different skin types!  We LOVE you for that!

Cleansing Water or Cleansing Water Oil In?

I had a funny IG DM conversation with good friend/Shobe Marj about the best feeling in the world at the end of the day ---

  • Removing Contacts
  • Removing Bra
  • Removing Lashes
It was 3 checks for both of us but now, I'm adding up REMOVING MAKE UP as the 4th best-feeling in the world for a woman before calling it a night!  Well...that's just me!  Kindly let me know on comment box what other "best felling" you can add!

a photo of barefaced askmewhats Nikki Tiu_ Kracie Kreer Cleansing Water and Cleansing Water Oil In Review

I use ALL Types of makeup removers ever since I started wearing makeup!  Because I believe to keep your skin in good and healthy condition is to always remove makeup completely before you go to sleep no matter how tired you are!

Thankfully, brands are coming up with easier-to-use makeup removers and you actually have a choice for removing hardcore makeup or just remove simple makeup!

Kracie came up with Kreer Cleansing Waters to help cut short daily makeup cleansing regime with just one step.  This is called 4-in-1 because it works as makeup remover, facial cleanser, exfoliator and toner in one.

Creer Cleansing Water is a no rinsing required regimen but of course, I still highly recommend to add up a cleansing step if you have time!

Eureka Moment: Mascara Mishaps?

When I first got the Happy Skin Pretty Clean Instant Makeup Eraser, I originally thought this was specifically made for eyeliner mishaps, I mean, of course, most of us have issues in eyeliner application especially when we try "wing-in' it" right?

Not me...ahem...give me some of my bragging rights, I have quite steady hands so eyeliner application is really not an issue of mine!  So, just when I thought this product is meant for those with wobbly hands...well, my confidence was thrown right back at my face whenever I apply mascara.

My lashes are short, if I may have to say it again and again --- very short, sparse, stick straight and non-existent.  So whenever I do apply mascara, it always gets into my lids because...I have to really wiggly the mascara wand from the roots of the lashes, which of course, is the easiest way to transfer some of the mascara to my lid!

That's when I realized I don't put mascara on a daily basis just because I'm too lazy to clean up the mascara mess I make on EVERY application.

Not until, I met this....

In Her Element Cleansing Products Review

When I was manning my first booth at a Bazaar I joined a couple of months ago, I chanced upon Liz Lanuzo's booth and saw new In Her Element cleansing products.  I have tried her first product called In Her Element Nourish and Cleanse Balm and the experience was extremely positive so I am looking forward to try her 2 new products that deals with cleansing --- I may not be religiously applying skincare products but I never miss a day without cleansing my face.  Cleansing is definitely one skincare secret I value.

In Her Element First Wash Cleansing Oil (Php450.00)
In Her Element Low PH Rose Gel Cleanser (Php675.00)

a photo of In Her Element First Wash Cleansing Oil and Low PH Rose GEl Cleanser Review

Let's start with First Wash Cleansing Oil.  Cleansing Oils are the makeup remover I live for!  No matter how many times I've used, reviewed and loved Micellar Cleansing waters, I always ended up using Cleansing Oils as my overall makeup remover because they melt makeup like no other!

Firstly, I love how In Her Element calls this a FIRST WASH Cleansing Oil because truthfully, no matter how many brands of cleansing oils I've tried, I ALWAYS fellow up with a second wash or even third wash!  So THANK YOU In Her Element for being honest about it!  Users must UNDERSTAND that it is best to follow up with a second wash whenever you use cleansing oils because.....it works better that way!

The Body Shop Camomile Range is my ultimate favorite!  I haven't really raved about it a lot online but offline, I've told most of my friends and readers about it I almost act like a Camomile Ambassadress!

And recently, I saw a somewhat "newly packaged" Waterproof Eye & Lip Make-Up Remover and gave this another whirl.

Etude House All Finish Line Remover Stick Review

So you've done all your eye makeup but suddenly decided to change the way your "liner" looks!  On days, I winged my eyeliner so well it looks so perfect on a subtle makeup look, and you know us (women!)  we change our minds so easily so I would probably end up wanting to remove the "winged liner" I did but don't want to redo the whole she-bang!

What does a makeup artist do?  Pick a Q-tip and dip it in an oil-free makeup remover!  Yes, oil-free because I find that using an oil-based eye makeup remover can create a weird oily patch on the area and worst, I can't seem to apply makeup on that area anymore!

How many of you can relate to that?

That's why after doing my usual rounds inside the Etude House Store (holler to LCM branch for being so nice to me!)  I was able to find this little box of greatness --- All Finish Line Remover Stick!

Etude House All Finish Line Remover Stick Says ---
Topical ""ALL FINISH"" cleansing stick-type makeup remover for easy and quick correction. 2ml

The Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleansing Cloths Is Promising But...

I got your attention with my blog title right?
Well, thanks for coming and please don't leave!  I really have something to say about the new Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleansing Cloths that I have been using for the past few weeks.

These are like regular cleansing cloths --- pre-moistened with a mild, soap-free cleanser that will help remove makeup and dirt!

Props to Cetaphil for the packaging, though the plastic isn't as thick as the ones from Burt's Bees, the lid seals in tightly and the sticker is amazing!  I had a hard time removing the sticker so you know the wipes are really moist on every use!

Bifesta Cleansing Express BrightUp Cleansing Lotion Review

I've read so many raves about Bifesta No Rinse, Water-Based Cleansing Lotion that really feels like water!  After receiving one through BDJ Box and another one for Christmas,  I knew I had to give this a try after I finished a full-sized tube of my favorite Shu Uemura Cleansing Oil.

Now I'm ready to take the "oil" on the side bench and say hello to water-based makeup remover!

For this review, I obviously picked BrightUp because I am just addicted to bright skin!

AMW Reviews: Benefit They're Real Remover

Benefit They're Real Remover has been on top of my makeup area for quite some time!  This was made to help remove They're Real mascara and They're Real Push Up Liner. Unsung Hero: H2O Plus Aqualibrium Dual-Action Eye Makeup Remover

Thanks to Sampleroom I get to try H2O+ Aqualibrium Dual-Action Eye Makeup Remover, in short, I just call this my trustee H2O+ Eye makeup remover.

Guess what!  I put this up as part of my "unsung heroes" list because, I realized, I have been reaching out for this sample whenever I wear hardcore waterproof makeup and this literally melts off my makeup!

I'm usually a liner and mascara girl so I tested this product using my most difficult to remove mascara (a.k.a. Majolica Majorca mascara) and eyeliner (Benefit They're Real Push-Up Liner) and guess what?  With a few drops on a cotton pad (yes pad makes a whole lot of difference!)  leaving the pad on closed eye for a few seconds, with a little pressure, almost ALL the stubborn makeup is gone!

Keep in mind though that this product has "oil" so you need to shake it before every use.  It won't sting the eye as long as you have your eyes shut.  The only tiny downside is the fact that it leaves a tiny film of oil but it isn't an issue for me as I always wash my face with facial wash after using ANY eye makeup remover!

I like to fold the cotton and do a second "clean-up" as there will always be makeup residue left especially on my lower eye area!
