Askmewhats Version: "Back with a Green Vengeance"

Happy Tuesday everyone!  I know I know!  I woke up on the different side of my bed because after 1 million and 1 years.... I've finally created the long lost "AMW Version".  A version of my own looks base on the current makeup I own!  I've had readers asking me about this and I'll say it for the last time, I got stuck with very important things since a very challenging trials that happened in my life last year!  That's the reason for the absence of "AMW Version", but now, it's back!  I'm not promising this to be a weekly thing, but it's good to finally do this again!  It was fun!

Back with Green Vengeance, I used green eyeshadows because I wanted to be back with an eyeshadow color that complements my natural eye color!  Most Filipinas can get away with a nice moss green shade!

I hope my diagram is still as nice as before!  I hope even better!

Step 1:
Primed my lids, extending to the rest of the products to the eyebrows and lower lash line with my newly purchased Etude House Proof 10 Eye Primer.  Once dry, drawn my brows using Paul & Joe Eyebrow Pencil no. 4.  Applied The Body Shop Kajal Liner in Evergreen on the outer thirds of the lids blending with my ring finger.

Applied TBS Eye Colour no. 43 onto the lids going a bit beyond using my MAC's 217 brush or any blending brush.

Step 2:
Using a larger blending brush, blur out lines using Maybelline EyeStudio Light Peach eyeshadow from the Gold Nuggets Palette.

Step 3:
Using the same MAC's 217 brush, apply a deeper shade to "deepen" the crease area.  I applied MAC Heatherette's Cloudburst e/s on outer v for that "larger" eye look!  Make sure to blend in harsh lines.

Step 4:
Using the sponge applicator from the Maybelline's Gold Nuggets Palette, the white eyeshadow to highlight the browbone area and do not forget the inner corner of the eyes for that "bright" and "awake" look.

Step 5:
Using any gel liner/liquid liner of your choice, in my case, I am using Makeup Masala Gel Liner in Black on my upper lashline winging it a bit.

Applying Lancome's Le Crayon Khol in Noir eyeliner on the waterline and used Urban Decay's 24/7 Glide-on Eye Pencil in Yeyo near the tearduct area.

Open up your eyes, stand back and check your refection if you are happy with the look.  You can always apply more or blend more if needed.

Curl your lashes and apply coats of mascara.  In this tutorial, I used the new GlamBox Mink Lashes (which I will be reviewing soon).

Note:  If you have long and thick lashes, you can skip the falsies!  If you need to and you're afraid to try, click THIS LINK to see my tutorial on how to apply falsies.

What's on the rest of my face?

For the Cheeks:
Contour with MSF Natural in Dark
NYX Blush in Pinky on the apples of the cheeks

For the Lips:
MAC's Viva Glam V Lipstick

Okay, this may look natural on photos but this is not my regular makeup on office days!
But it's nice to play with makeup again on my own face after a long time!  I've been too lazy!  I'd rather put makeup on other gorgeous faces than plain 'ol boring mine! :)

So how do you like "AMW Version's" Comback?

Nail Art Tutorial: 2010 Halloween Nails

I may be too old to join "trick or treats" but my nails won't give a damn!  It's Halloween once again and I'll be celebrating it no matter what!  I can always express it through my nails!  This year, I've decided to do some kiddie drawing and I have to thank "Google images" for inspiration!  Just because I cannot make up my mind, I've decided to put them all on my nails!

Here's a "preview" of my 2010 Halloween Nails!
There's spidey and a ghost with ugly BOO handwriting! :P

Step 1:
I've decided to use the pumpkin color --- Orange from Caress polish!  I originally planned orange and black but I can't seem to find my black polish!  So I've got a dark chocolate brown instead from Paul & Joe.  Applied 2 coats of each and let dry!

Tip from AMW: Since I'm using dark colored polish, please use your preferred base coat to protect your nails!

Step 2:
On the dark brown polish shade, I will draw some "ghostly eyes" peeping through my nails!  You can choose to do this on all dark brown polish base as creating eyes aren't as hard as it seems!  I am using Prettynails' 2 Way Nail Art Pens in White and Black.  If you don't have art pens, you can use dotting tools and toothpicks!

Tip from AMW:  You can draw the black portion of the eyes from different location!
Step 3:
For the orange portion, use black to make the design pop.  I've decided to draw cobwebs!  I am using a thin brush from L.A. Art Deco polish in Black.  Cob Webs aren't meant t be perfect, so do not worry if your lines aren't that perfectly drawn!

After drawing random cobwebs (which looks like umbrella by the way), I've decided to draw a tiny spider using my nail art dotting pen!  You can skip this step if its too much hassle!

Step 4:
Just because I have too much time to spare, I've decided to draw something special for both my thumbnails!

Orange Side
I've decided to draw a bigger spider!
Do not forget to include eyes!  It kinda look cute rather than scary right? hehehe
Dark Brown Side
I've decided to draw a ghost, of course, ghost won't happen without the :O look!
Finish it up with "Boo!" word.  It's ok for the Boo! word to be shaky!
I find it super difficult to write using my left hand!  I am definitely not ambidextrous!

Step 5:
Making sure the designs you've drawn are COMPLETELY dry, finish it up with your preferred Top Coat.  I am using Elianto's Top Coat.

Here's how my nail art for the week looks like!
And who would take me seriously with these nails?
Who cares?  It's Halloween! :)

And if you have a couple of minutes to spare,
you can do your toenails too!

Advance Happy Trick or Treatin'!
What will you be this coming Halloween?

Weekend Food Tripping at: SumoSam + More Snacks!

My Saturday went pretty well!  Thanks to the "weather God" it did not rain as hard as I've imagined!  I am praying for the safety of the people living in the typhoon alert zone!

I was in dreamland so I woke up late on a Saturday!  I went to Greenhills to do some errands and I haven't been to Greenhills for quite some time so I did a bit of food tripping!  The usual Soft Taco and Nachos that I love (sorry, no photos taken as I eat those almost every time I'm at Greenhills).  I saw a "Scramble" stand so we gave it another try!  Sad to say, I prefer the Scramble stand on streets when I was still in highschool!

After the errands at Greenhills and a bit of shopping!  Promise, not a lot!  Just a top and a pair of shoes! :)  We went to Shangri-La mall to meet up with my college friends!  I haven't seen them for quite some time so it's great to finally meet up with them together with their kids!  We've decided to dine at SumoSam.  A Japanese restaurant co-owned by actor Marvin Agustin.

Dynamite Roll
Php248.00 (approx $5.70)
One of my favorite "type" of roll!  I love the crunchy fish with the softness of the tuna that melts into my mouth!  It's a bit spicy but hey!  My tongue can go from spicy to mega spicy!  So this was nothing :)

Waikiki
Php308.00 (approx $7.16)

Japanese Pizza.  We chose the Spam and Mushroom combination because they offer Seafood and Chicken version, in which, both type I can't eat due to my allergies.  SPAM of course is a fusion already, I doubt real Japanese restaurant would serve Japanese Pizza with Spam! :)  It's okay though, I love it more when I added the curry sauce from my friend's meal!

SumoSam
6th Floor Shangri-la Plaza Mall
Mandaluyong City
Tel. no: (632) 910-0388
** Price includes service charge, can pay both cash and credit card!

We're not on a diet, the reason why we ordered only a few because we were really full with our prior food trip at Greenhills.  And of course, just in case we get hungry, we saw a restaurant (not really newly opened) but its new to our eyes because we haven't been to the mall for the longest time.  I gave myself a mental note to dine in this restaurant in the future.  As for now, let's go for some take away food!

Shanghai Pork Bun (4pcs)
Php121.00 (approx $2.80)

Tastes ok, not the most astounding Pork Bun I've tried.  I would probably rate this 5/10

Steam Pork Dumplings (5pcs)
Php142.00 (approx $3.30)
This actually tastes authentic!  Similar to the ones we had in Shanghai!
Love the sauce that oozes out in first bite!  Be careful not to burn your tongue ok?

Crystal Jade La Mian Xiao Long Bao
Unit 117-121 Virra Mall
San Juan City
Tel nos: (632) 570-6910/(632) 570-6912

I have to share this!  Hubby bought this at NYFD!  They are now serving meals perfect for moviegoers!  All I can say is...CUTE CUTE CUTE!

Meal consists of Fries with 1 dip (we chose Honey Mustard), Meatball spaghetti, Bacon and Cheese Dog (1/2 the size) and Softdrinks! Price: Php190.00 + Php20.00 (drinks upsize) = Php210.00 (approx $4.88)

Random photo taken at the window display of True Value!  Yup, we can definitely feel the spirit of Christmas!!!

Have you even started your Christmas shopping?
Sad to say, I haven't!  I think I'm leaning on to the "last minute" shopping mode!

Have a wonderful Sunday!

Something New: PH Care Wipes

2 years ago, I posted "All About Down Under" and it's funny how some thought I'll be talking about Australia!  It stirs up a couple of issues and you can click this link to read the comments going on!  It was fun and the girls are just wonderful in sharing their ideas and thoughts!

I actually think it's one of my favorite post not because I get a lot of clicks or views on that, I am liking that post because I was mature enough to share my thoughts on dealing about hygiene "down there".  Aside from that, because of that post, I learned about the harmful effects of pantyliners and I get to learn about Cloth Pantyliners and own them and actually use them!

I don't use feminine wipes daily because I am not that dirty down there!  Plus, I don't like the fact of adding up to environmental wastes.  There are moments though that feminine wipes are quite useful and it's during "the time of the month" and women do not have access to feminine wash and water.  Imagine, you have your period and you're using a public toilet!

That's the reason why I purchase feminine wipes and it saves my life!  I've been a constant user of Charmee Feminine wipes and I hoard on them as seen on photo below.

It's nice that my favorite feminine wash came up with their own feminine wipes and I just got to learn about them recently...

pH Care Feminine Wipes Cool Wind

pH Care Feminine Wipes in Passionate Bloom

I haven't used them yet, have to wait for the "time of the month"!
Have you tried the brand?  How do you like them?

Enjoy your Saturday!
